Better change the thermostat Jim as that is most likely the issue with the car overheating and sitting in your home garage is a far better place to be dealing with it versus out on the road somewhere.
I would've been concerned as well, with the car overheating and the radiator cold as ice ! btw Jimbo, that'll work fine! I bet, it'll be better than what they first went along with, that's for sure. Thanks, for the update! cheers.
Bypass permits heat to cabin, then thermostat opens and permits circulation and engine cooling. This design gets heat to driver area faster without waiting for the whole rad system to heat up.
Also, if it has a manual water pump, when they start to go bad, it can make noise, squealing, Can rattle too. I had them go bad and sound like a coffee grinder.
Nice video again Jim, I would be concerned as well seeing the temperature rising up that high, your idea of making the body mount is just as good if not better than the factory mount in my opinion, thanks for sharing
one of the first things you should check is the radiator fan and all of the fan parts. If your fan isn't working correctly due to a broken fan blade or unstable connection, this can prevent the radiator from reducing the coolant temperature adequately Turn the ac off and Turn your heat on while out driving and see if the temps drop a little… ✌️
Can always do the ole thermostat in a cup of hot water test to see if she's opening and closing properly, or just replace it they're cheap enough. I even test the new ones. Better safe than sorry. Good luck with it Jimbo. 🤞😉✌
The noise of the alternator squeak may be the bearing or the belt itself. You are doing a great job Jim bless you very creative in finding alternative solutions great job.
Jumbo, my audi does the same thing. It always circulates coolant between the water pump, block and heater. They do that to get heat quicker. Then once you have heat the thermostat gets hot enough to open. I think that's normal if it has a coolant bypass
Jim I dig your 57. Wish I keep my 74 Olds convert. Patched it up with sheetmetal screws. After watching. I could do a lot better hope you have good days brother
The thermostat needs replacing Jimbo it could let you down if it is getting lazy. Your armoured car is coming on well!😉. LOOK! pushing 10.000 subscribers you and Louie are stars...Well done. 🍻🍻 cheers from the UK.
Well that's quite something that that alternator is way up from the bottom definitely not going to buy one of those cars too hard to work on for me I guess that's why they're so expensive and good job Jimbo.
Yes, sir it sure did stick, replace it fush the system, add the antifreeze lube , that make it . Its good for cars that set alot. Plus a that tpy of car is built to run and drive on highway and it legs stretched out,. Lol
