This hits home. I share the same path as you did. Went to med school when I was 36 almost 37 and now I am 42. We are first generation immigrants in the US and life was short on money. I always felt like I needed to graduate fast so I could help out my family financially. I chose a much shorter path to be in health care only to find myself being gravitated towards being a doctor 10 years after. Now I am a doctor and I think that I needed these ten years to level up, to prepare myself without knowing what I’ve been preparing myself for, in order to become the person/the doctor that I am today. It is a beautiful story full of moments of loneliness, self doubt and yet perseverance. It is a beautiful song. Never stop singing our songs. Good luck to you.
