Day 2 Complete. It made more sense today: It isn't about rowing faster. It's about rowing harder. Hard push with the legs & pull with the arms & a soft/slow return. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Just found this. Have been indoor rowing for a long time. Then stopped now back. But got into bad habits. Sloppy 20 minutes with no hard burn. Working on bring down my blood sugars rather than weight. This workout plus controlled diet is perfect. And your encouragement is just the right level to keep you going but not distract. Great work. Thanks so much for this, just what I needed to continue my 14-day streak while feeling demotivated. Almost 41 y/o and started rowing last year (wife is former rower and I needed a recovery exercise for my torn meniscus). The hardest part is like you said: just get rowing. Some days I feel ready to go, others I want to just stay in bed. No matter what: just row. I'll check out your other videos, thanks!

Even though this video is a few years old now, I just found it while searching for rowing workouts. I've followed a few, but most are too technical or just don't really make you understand what you're doing. This was a good one, and reminding us it's okay to not be perfect is helpful, but to be mindful of form. As an LMT, my excuse for being unable to row is often my hands are aching painfully, but when I have a slow day or feel better, I like being able to jump on the rower, and having something to follow is very useful. I got a good sweat going from this one and felt my glutes burning (which I love). I'll def come back to this one again and check out any others you may have. :)

Thankx I've been watching your vids and today I did the best workout ever, I was breathing all wrong on my rowmachine and rowing wrong. Now I'm feeling more confident in my rows and breathing I feel like the method you suggested is the best one so by far.

Such a great workout. Thank you for this. It’s what I needed. I usually row every day. I’ve been doing it for 2 and a half years, but this month I felt like I needed a long break from rowing. Watching you rowing along made it more fun and exciting. I canceled my Hydrow subscription and since then I’ve been more relaxed about my rowing. I have to get back to my daily workouts.

Love this. I have a JO ROTO machine that seems to have all the characteristics you described. Th monitor /machine don't seem to have "drag" adjustment etcetera. I don't need the monitor with this workout and just use my fitness watch. Not sure how sesitence stacks up to Concept II. I'm now doing this workout at 7/10 resistence. I'm 69 yrs. old and in fair shape. Don't have patience for long indoor workouts but can always talk myself into this for 10min. Love it. Lost 8 lbs. in a couple of weeks of this. I also do "weight loss isometrics" (if you have a candy bar in your hand, keep your arm out straight and away from your mouth.Lol!)

I am a beginner in this type of rowing. Currently at home, I use the Domyos 100 rowing machine. It’s not the best, but it gets the job done. Great workout to follow along. Thank you.

Great workout! Really had an awesome time rowing along. "If you'd like to extend this workout... you can just start over again!" 😂 Laughed so hard I lost my rythm. I use a totally different machine and probably did some different recovery - but do you know what distance you rowed or what Watts you had during the high intensity intervals? Thanks a lot and keep up the good work! I learned so much about rowing from you 👍💪

I’ve been doing this after my daily workout. And it’s great! I did the 20 min one as hard as I could and I believe I was opening up before my legs were fully extended without knowing I was. My upper middle back definitely experienced a muscle strain and has been hurting for roughly a week now. Posture and form is important.

Love your training videos and tips. I started rowing in May 2021 and I am 63. I love daily changing up fat burn and cardio, checking my technique. I have passed your channel onto family and friends. One is 74 and she is rocking it…..she was just rowing until she found your tips and training. 🤩🤩🤩 Another friend is going to start because she is striving to get fitter. In the Pacific Northwest we can do this rain or shine. I added this shorty fat burn vid to the end of a 20 minute cardio ladder I rowed first today. Thank you for Training Tall!! Are you actually vegan Austin? I am and I try to drink a protein shake (fermented vegan protein blend 20 gram) I make about a half hour or so after working out. Is that about right?

I think he doesn't say what he's doing because he doesn't want people to compare speeds, but there are rowing communities online that you can join where you connect your monitor to you bluetooth and can see others' progress and you can motivate each other

Rowing really hurts my knees for some reason but I’m struggling to drop body fat even walking 6 miles a week on top of regular movement and super strict eating so we’re gonna try this a few times a week and see if my legs fall off 😂

Thank you for the breathing advice. Breathing trips me up all the time. Just to check, generally: IN when you are going back to the catch, and out as you push your legs? I know it seems silly to ask after you just demoed. But I have exercised-induced asthma, and when I go hard, I can get mixed-up. Thanks for your videos🙂

when i’m rowing - for the handle to go as far forward to machine my heels lift up - yours don’t- does that mean i’m doing it wrong or have to. work on flexibility? i’m 30 days in. love your workout - thankyou!!
