Never finished. Got bored after about 30 tries, never got around to it again. Btw, you may be curious what happens if you do let him spare you... you get dunked on.
10:09 He says on the 7th death that maybe you'll hit the jackpot, and the number will multiply tenfold. Whack beats Sans on his 69th try, one off from 70. He knew.
Sans really does only 1 damage, it's just that you don't have s. Also remember when you looked at your stats before Sans and saw LV19, 50000 EXP and 49999 EXP to next LV? Now you are LV20.
He isn't trying to defeat you- he knows you can just reload and try again- he just wants to make your experience so miserable that you give up. He wants you to either restart to do a pacifist run, or at least stop playing the game altogether. He doesn't want to let you get to this ending.
One of the best-designed boss fights in gaming. It's subversive of the game mechanics, has a strong narrative throughout, has a bop of a soundtrack, and is DAMN hard.
Now that we’ve reached this fight. We now know the true reason why Sans is so lazy. He’s been aware of your resets. Or rather... Flowey’s resets. Imagine living your life, day by day, you get a lotta shit done one day, and then randomly, the day just resets and all the progress you made in that day is gone. He’s caught in this Groundhog Day time loop and remembers all of it. He’s lazy because he knows the stuff he does is just gonna be gone randomly.
It is more if an ennui from depression over what happened to Gaster. He is aware of the resets because he was involved in research, but he is not 4th wall aware enough to actually know the differences. For example, he has no idea who Flowey is because Flowey kept avoiding him after losing to him so many times in this fight. He is guessing at how many times he has beaten you bass on Frisk's facial expressions.
Chara's equipment with the value of 99 each is just trolling because Sans dodges every attack and deals KARMA retribution (poison dmg). So you might as well use better stuff. Like in the Undyne fight the Torn Notebook and Cloudy Glasses are the best choices, for different reasons however. While invincibility doesnt matter in the Sans fight, this equippment still increases the interval of each tick of KARMA you recieve from Sans, reducing the poison damage somewhat and making the fight easier. You can also use the Burned Pan to heal 4 HP each turn but I think the stacked effect of the nerd set negs you more health overall.
I still wonder why the notebook and glasses work better for other ppl, for me undyne is easy with the ballet shoes and the tutu, but impossible with the glasses and notebook
@@viewera Depends about what you are good at. Red-heart attacks are easier with the cloud glasses/torn notebook, and green-heart attacks are easier with the ballet shoes/old tutu
I think the Sans boss fight is genius. Yes, it's ridiculously hard, but that's the point. Sans knows the only way to stop you is to break your will. And only the most determined players are actually going to put the time and effort into memorizing all his attack patterns and beating him. He's really the most formidable opponent in the game, and not because he is particularly strong. But because he's agile and he knows how to catch the player off guard. And he cheats, lol.
When I fought Sans, I tried too much times, but when I won, I just had a thought... You just can beat Sans when you're most determined to completely destroy the world, which is opposite of his determination to stop the "angel of death" destroying the world...
Fun fact: if you quit the game and come back after killing Sans without saving, Sans will say "that expression you're wearing. . . well, i won't grace it with a description." If you do it again he'll say, " that expression you're wearing. . . you're really kind of a freak, huh?"
Many people have made theories about that blood Sans had. For starters, monsters don't bleed, they turn into dust. That said, some people think it may have just been ketchup.
Know what I think? I think that red substance is Determination. Sans didn’t die immediately after taking 9999999 damage, he remembers the resets, and people theorize about him “sweating”. I think him “sweating” is actually him melting from Determination.
@@CharaDreemurr-9999 he has a little bit of a memory of each reset while yes he does say that he can see it from your expression he might also remember but hey that’s just a theory a ga ah nvm
i actually gave up the first time i fought sans. i think there’s some meaning in that. he managed to save his friends, he made me give up and reset. it’s so interesting. of course, that didn’t keep me from doing it again and killing him, but ohh boy did i reflect for a while after that.
At this current moment? O have a feeling that Karmic Retribution is a fanon term but fits so perfectly to KR, On the other hand, KR maybe the same as the VE in LOVE(ViolencE) so KR, if not Karmic Retribution can also be an acronym for KaRma
0:18 Please can we just have 1, 1 playthrough where the community dosnt spoil the fact there is a sans boss fight. I have never in my life seen someone say "Oh you have to fight sans" other than in teens react and thats cause they didnt even know what undertale was
2 years later, but you asked what the KR stands for at the end of the fight stands for Karmic Retribution. KR is the "poison" damage Sans deals to you. It's on the right side of your healthbar because the purple poison bar is on the right side of whatever hp you have left
First off: Nice. Second: I was thinking about same games I could suggest to you, and here is what I have thought of: Unheard: This game is on steam, it is an audio puzzle/mystery game. It's pretty short, but it was really interesting to experience. I think you would enjoy it. It has a really thought provoking story. Time Hollow: This is a story driven DS game. It has mystery and puzzle/action elements, and is a bit on the short side, but longer than Unheard. As it probably sounds, it deals with time travel. I would describe it as similar to Steins;Gate, but less dark and more anime. Kind of similar to Ghost Trick, as well. Skies of Arcadia: Legends: This is a GameCube game. It is an RPG game with cool characters, a story that hooks you in and really fun battle systems. It is a pretty long game, standard Final Fantasy RPG length. I played this a lot when I was younger, and surprisingly it holds up pretty well even today. Just a few games I thought of, would love to see you play any/all/none of them. Thanks for being awesome!
Just thought of a few other ones, after perusing my Steam Library. Dragon Quest XI: Very long RPG, but also very fun. I assume the Dragon Quest name already precedes itself, but there is something about the world in XI that works so well. (If you haven't played a Dragon Quest game before, I would also recommend III and V, those and XI are my top 3 DG games.) Cave Story+: An action platformer/shooter game. Very cool world, gameplay and story. Disgaea: Any of the games, really, they are all very good. There are quite a few of them. The main series games are turn based tactics games, but there are some side games that do other stuff. Story doesn't take itself too seriously except when it does.
I genuinely don't understand how you cant recognize you need to stay as close to the center as possible for the lazer circle attack.. the amount of tries you needed for just that move is mind boggling🤦♂
Some new dialogue is added when he announces how many times you died. The black eyed dialogue has always existed in the files, but it's only been implemented last year
I dont know how many times I tried but I know I streamed for like 5 hours just the Sans fight, so there you go hahaha. It's exactly those damn lasers.... They got me good. I still resent them up to this very date.
ive been recently trying to beat sans and i FELT that moment when you accidentally checked because i did the exact same thing and i got SO close to beating him that time and i was like IF ONLY I HADNT WASTED A TURN CHECKING MY ACCIDENT also ive been appreciating your editing a lot throughout this series as you manage to leave most of the game in, any memorable moments, new thigns etc, but you cut out all the repeated things which definitely makes watchign episodes like this much more enjoyable as many people just upload all 80 tried against sans with no editing and its like... i dont want to see the same thign 8 billion times but its nice to see someones reaction to the first time they see a new attack or finally figure out how to beat it, so this was very good :) im glad im not the only one who cant do that one move with the two platforms where u have to jump fromthe top one to the bottom one or whatever, i also just kinda take the L and take the damage the fact that you beat it on try 69 was basically written in the stars thats absolutely hilarious, i dont think sans could even be mad about that tbh
The KR next to your healthbar is KARMA. Thats why sans doednt fight you until you have max LOVE and EXP. The more you have, the more damage the Karma does. Its supposed to represent all your guilt and stuff killing everyone else. And if hes going to hell, hes taking you with him
that part's fan theory. yeah, it's canonically KARMA (doomed to death of KARMA, or whatever the flavour text is) but we don't have any evidence it's more effective the higher your LOVE is. in fact, it only does 1 damage at a time, so its damage can't be increased. i think the only two real possibilities are that KARMA only affects you if you have max LV, or it affects you whatever your LV
