ASKING FOR PRAYERS FOR MY hubby Brian. He's been going thru Chemo and Radiation for Cancer. His new scans show 7+ new spots in his liver. Biopsy to be done this Friday. Prayers are greatly appreciated.🙏✝️❤️🕊️💜🌹🪻

For carrots to germinate, plant just under soil. Then put boards over where just planted. This way the seeds stay moist check for germination around 7 -10 days. Then take boards off.

Hi Toni - I think that even though you are tired you have put out an excellent video. Well I’m just about finished planting everything - I just came in for a short rest and a bite to eat and enjoyed your video. Have cucumbers, beets, carrots and more potatoes left to plant in our large back garden today. The only thing left will be to sprinkle some radish seeds out in big front garden. I got to take a rest yesterday after 6 very long days planting the food bank gardens as it was raining all day - so made 2 wheels of cheddar cheese - which is now air dying before going into the cheese cave - I find making cheese very relaxing. I was so exhausted by Monday evening that we went out for supper and I could easily have put my head on the table and gone to sleep, lol, when we got home I went straight to bed. I’ve planted 24 rows of potatoes only 8 more to go..

@@crossingtheline4372 - the food bank garden is a 1/2 acre garden that belongs to me - I started it a number of years ago to help support our local food bank. We live in a rural area and the number of families the food bank supports has grown from 59 to just over 300. The Harvest organization which used to deliver food to all rural areas where I live used to deliver 3 times a month, but since 2019 has only been able to deliver once a month. We were supporting the food bank previously, but decided to up the game and turned our 1/2 acre into a large garden in order to provide fresh veg for those in need. We also added 3 small greenhouses on our home property so that we could start plants for the garden plus we added another commercial greenhouse which enables us to grow lots of heat loving plants more abundantly (we are zone 3) plus have added several more gardens over the last years so that we are growing almost 1 acre of food. My husband and I do all the planting and watering, but we get help with the weeding and harvesting from the summer staff of our local friendship centre, usually grade 11 and 12 high school students and 2 full time staff. This provides a great opportunity for kids to work and help support their community and also learn some gardening skills. As the number of families being supported has grown substantially we have talked with a number of other farmers and market gardeners and have 3-4 others who now also donate either excess produce, or are also growing gardens specifically for supporting food banks and other local food missions. We also have people who do volunteer canning and freeze drying for emergency meals to be used in the community.

I have picked 17 buckets of my strawberries. Its a ice cream bucket size. I am still picking. I make jam, dehydrate them, made strawberry shortcake and froze them. I am so blessed

You are so right about the division. Where I live we have just about every single race, culture, and religion and we all just get along. We talk ,celebrate foods from our perspective culture and are courteous and respectful of each other. I feel like it isn’t going to work anymore for the dividers.

I planted my carrots by seed under my tomatoes, which are in containers. They are not only up by about 6”, they seem to be thriving. This was the first time I did them like that. I hope the carrot root is doing as well as the tops…lol!

You can lay tulle on the seedlings and the bunnies and birdies should leave them alone. It is pretty inexpensive and easy to drape over. I love using it to protect things in the garden! Carrot seeds can be lined up in between two ply toilet tissue. Moisten with a spray bottle and then lay where you want to plant them with a very light layer of soil. The tp will help them hold moisture and allows you to ready them indoors and space them just how you want them.

Toni, I use cheap tulle to cover delicate plants. In fact some is over my raspberry bush now to stop the birds. We're going up to 90s next week. I'll be watering constantly. Have a blessed evening.

Sprinkle some blood meal on and around any plant you would like to keep from being devoured by rabbits and deer! They are herbivores and DO NOT like the smell or taste of blood! It is also pure nitrogen and plants can readily use it. A little trick I learned in my Master Gardening classes here in WA state. Always successful for me😎🇺🇸🇨🇦

Hi Toni, from experience we did strawberries and even if at end of freeze drying cycle they were nice and crispy we put them in mylar with 02 asorb. In time (weeks) you could feel the bag and they were no longer crisp open up there was rubbery strawberries. In research found the seeds were still holding moisture we should have added 12 hours extra hours drying time. Our apples, bananas and peach slices were wonderful.

You can use a fabric called tulle and drape over your plants. I would use some sticks or something to brace them up in case of rain. It might get a little heavy when its raining, but it seems to work for most folks. Some people use those little ground cover stakes to hold it down but most of the ones I've seen just use a rock or big stick to hold it down. It's lightweight and the sun can still get thru. There are several people I follow that use it. I was going to try it this year but I broke the metal plate in my arm (3rd plate I've had in there) and its taken 10 month to get it fixed. I'm hoping, as my grandson still calls them, 'Miss Toni's tomato" seeds will still be good next year. We really love those things. I've tried to get him to say Mrs. Toni's but you will always be Miss Toni to him lol.

I'm always in agreement with you. You've got a smart mind and a good heart. Those bunnies will eat any sprouts! One time I had a whole flat of tomato starts (about 3 inches high) and I sat them on the floor by the back door, forgot about them and later when my pet rabbit was out of her crate and getting some exercise she ate every single one to the soil. The little booger, I've never known rabbits to eat tomato plants, but she sure did. 🤦‍♀️

Hope you feel loads better tomorrow, Toni. Today for me too was an off day..I canned asparagus and I tripped over myself the entire time, making mistakes, taking twice as long to get jars in the pressure canner and when I pulled the qt jars out, I noticed one I hadn’t even screwed the lid on enough and it was bouncing around. Six hours later I removed all the screw ons only to discover the one that popped had two lids on and the one on the jar had the center caved in. Tomorrow I’ll check to see if it actually took by lifting the jar by the lid. What a strange day?!

Good to see you Toni! Another reason I love your videos is you speak your mind and your words are very thoughtful, for lack of a better way of saying my appreciation for your content. When people get nasty over a subject and lose rational is when I look at them and think "How do you even dress yourself. You're a mess." lol The division was definitely a result from covid. I worked in a deli department in a retail store(Fred Meyer) during that time. It was very strange times. The store was so dead most of the time because of the fear of being around other people. I got a little sidetracked there, but what I wanted to say is during covid it seemed people were getting more of a power trip and feeling higher than others than I had ever seen. They knew what was "good for you" and some people just went out of their gourd if you did not agree with them or if your mask was not on all the way. I hope you feel better. Give yourself lots of "me time" 🤗 I like to drink camomile or peppermint tea when I'm feeling a bit under the weather.

INDOCTRINATION OF HATE Toni is right. We need to learn to love those with differing opinions...even our enemies. However, the sad truth is that propaganda and indoctrination do work. Pick any issue over the last 10 years, be it as recent as the Israeli - Palestine conflict, to the various iterations of 'climate change', from acid rain, to depleting ozone, to melting glaciers, and you will find division. This is the time-honored tradition of divide and conquer. If we are busied fighting one another, we cannot focus on the underhanded things going on in the background. This woke, globalist ideology is a result of our captured post-secondary institutions, indoctrinating the minds of young Canadians, for decades. So too is this done with Muslim school children, especially in the Islamic nations surrounding Israel. Children are brought up despising Israelis, as well as the US and most of the western Christian-based countries. So while Canadian kids are indoctrinated to hate their own country, Muslim children, in the middle east, are taught to hate Jews and the collective western world. This is the hatred we are fighting...fomented by captured leftists and radical Islamists. But not all Canadians hate their country, just as not all Muslims hate Jews, or the western world. But...unfortunately...we are powerless to stop this indoctrination...at least in the immediate future. It will take time to rid our communities of these hateful people...those who would brainwash others into this indoctrination of hate.
