Poor girl, she is stuck in a self destructive spiral. Alcoholism is one of the hardest things to overcome as it is seen as socially acceptable and reinforced to a point. Minx is clearly in need of help but the worst part of it is unless an addict actually wants to change and makes proper efforts the spiral just continues downward. Here to her wishing her luck if the can make it in long term recovery.
The case of Minx is just incredibly sad. It's unimaginably hard to say no when you're beyond a certain point when you have a problem (or just as much a history) with substance abuse. It is entirely her fault, she ruined relationships and events by turning up to streamer parties three times as drunk as anyone else, constantly did erratic things like diving on tables, running at mountain lions, pretending to be on medication "for a bit" and not clarifying at all when people try to stop you drinking. HS Kids do this, not adults, not famous adults and certainly not famous adults on live camera. People can handle these streamer personalities when there is an off switch, Minx did not have that button. In fact any slight resistance she gets she claims it's due to her BPD, which even if true, only further reinforces she is not someone to affiliate with when you have an online career.

Steamers find a funny irish person, egg them on, know beforehand that they have some issues, continue to invite them to parties, encourage them to drink, and then get mad while dogpiling the victim publicly after they were called out for their predatory behavior. I've said dozens of times that streamers aren't your friends, especially ones who hang around the "Schlatt" friend group. I'd know, I had a mutual friend who literally was IN their SMP (with Carson) and invited me to play games with them in private, and sometimes on their own personal stream with other big names. On camera they're a bunch of great people, behind the scenes in VC they're not really nice. You hear about all this "dirty laundry" whenever one of them gets booted from the group. The booted person will bring up some shit they did, and then the ENTIRE group will claim they "wanted to be private" and then demolish them with hate, and thousands of foaming at the mouth stans. Look at what happened to Twomad, everyone loved the guy, one "false accusation" and they're all burning him down. Jameski even went public on twitter lying about getting permission from a police investigation, and then claimed a bunch of real guns as proof that Twomad was an abuser. Then it came out that 90% of those guns were airsoft, and the "victim" made multiple statements the entire interaction was consensual. That entire group of 15-20 people are legitimate sociopaths. I've known this for years, and everytime I bring it up people get so pissy because I'm right. Literally used to be a twitch mod for one of these people, and spoke to all them of personally. They're not normal, but I'm just a hater who's "never interacted with them."
The people you surround yourself with matter a lot. And stuck in the US with only streamers and people from LA for friends, no wonder she was stuck with shitty people. It seems easy to abandon a group, but it's really not.
@@thisislame2207 yeah, the "old" content creators (2020 era) have mostly died (80% either canceled or their channel died), i wonder what will happen to the remaining 20%, for now the new creators are rising
Honestly, after watching all this, the main takeaway, is that somehow everyone sucks. i have no idea how any of these people had or have careers... Complete insanity.
54:09 I just wanna say that regardless of what actually happened at the party obviously it’s clear makes has and had a problem and she does need to get that help. However, people don’t understand that seizures happen in a lot of different ways that they’re not always just full body contortion like you see in movies and TV. You can have absence seizures. You can have a seizure and your body not really jerking around and you’re just not there. You know what I mean like there’s a lot of different ways that that stuff presents and I’m really honestly I’m really OK with believing her when she says that she had a seizure because I know people who have epilepsy I have known people who have had seizures. I’ve known people to have full body seizures I’ve known people to have those absent seizures so it’s just very complicated and a lot of people don’t
"Name Your Price" cohost Will Neff said on a podcast that Minx was fired from Season 2 due to her "personal issues". They shot 4 episodes without her and then G4 shut down. Minx got booted off a sinking ship, and that was just the start of her career spiral.
She needs more of the right people in her life and possibly some that are not on any social media platforms, it may help her out and live a better life.
I loved the self deprecating humor in the merch bit. "Nobody's gonna know" made me imagine meeting another person wearing the same shirt, and we share an understanding, silent nod. Nobody knows, but us. We walk our separate ways.
her end goal for her career was to get a guy basically, she spent all her days streaming on the dating shows and made it publicy known that she just was using her fame to get guys and ppl saw her as a female incel so they bullied her to death
As someone who has a close family member who suffers from epilepsy, alcohol and epilepsy do NOT mix well together, but specifically the medication and alcohol. Also, alcohol withdrawal can often cause seizures for alcoholics, particularly if they're already an epileptic. A seizure is essentially an explosion happening in the brain, can occasionally cause brain bleeds and other injuries, and overall can cause a person's memories or personality to alter over time. I've seen this for myself, and the medication doesn't help in that regard due to how powerful it is, ESPECIALLY back in the day. Overall, epileptics get a lot of sympathy from me, as do the people that love and care for them. Having epilepsy is a nightmare, but being the caretaker for an epileptic isn't much easier. In my experience, epileptics tend to have personalities that are "rough around the edges" and can be abrasive, can sometimes be mistaken for being bipolar, have hoarding and/or Disassociative tendencies, and overall can be difficult to be around. It's not their fault (entirely), but something like alcohol and bad friends do not mix well with epilepsy. Minx is still young, and I wish her nothing but the absolute best.
@@TurbidTG1 You have my sympathies, friend. Much love and support to you, and I hope doctors are able to find the right medication for you that isn't too powerful. I know a lot of progress has been made in the cannabis and CBD department, but I don't know if it would be effective in helping treat your epilepsy. Take care, and God bless.
I really hope that she gets the help that she needs, I don’t think a lot of people in this comment section realize just how bad alcoholism is, it’s not something you can just wake up one day and say you’re gonna suddenly stop. I know that there have been people who have had to be in places for years to try to get control of it, because the second something goes downhill they want to return to it alcohol being a depressant doesn’t help either. It’s heartbreaking because when she states what happened, allegedly and the psychiatric unit if it really did happen, that would really discourage someone to go back there for help. I really hope that her family is able to get into contact with her somehow and remind her that she’s strong enough to pull through this.
EXACTLY. people in these comments are acting like shes some kind of disgusting villain when she clearly needs to literally be checked into a fucking rehab. this is not youtube fodder material. this is fucking insane.
My dad has this same issue genuinely. It took him 20 years to get hold of it. He’s now 63 today, and it’s very difficult in the beginning, but worth it in the end
@@Bokosuka-yl7eq right? My dad was a navy seal captain and so he used to drink heavily and then down cough syrup with it to forget the trauma but I think he’s realized not only is a bad for his health but bad for the people around him, don’t give me wrong. He still wakes up in tears, but now he’s a lot happier cause at least he knows that he’s somewhere safe versus if he’s drinking, he feels like the world against him. And I agree it’s not easy but it certainly is a lot healthier and safer.
It's sad that she hurt her ankle so bad the bone was (allegedly?) "sticking out", but her mind still went in the direction of "go live". One of the really putrid things about reality-tv and "livestreaming-as-a-job" is your own life becomes a commodity. The line completely blurs and your life and your labor merge in an exploitative way. Even something as private as a ride in an ambulance becomes fodder. I can't help but see it as parasitic and exploitative.
parasitic about .. what? it’s more sad, if anything. it’s like an addictive cycle, more tragic than anything. she needs someone to call a wellness check on her, not people like turkey tom and you talking shit about her online and watching from the sidelines
calling minx herself “parasitic and exploitative” is insane when there is this man here who’s edited all of this public information into one long degrading movie of her life for millions of people to watch instead of calling a wellness check on her or actually seeing if she’s okay.
@@avaph0bic Just for clarity, when I used the term "parasitic", I was referring to how I personally see the world of reality TV and live streaming. And I stand by it, I believe the entire subculture is... parasitic. And exploitative. As for Turkey Tom and his video, and whether he owes Minx a wellness check, or any kind of affirmation: why would he? Turkey Tom is a commentator. Period. He's not a social worker, he's not a spiritual advisor, he's not her dad. He has zero obligation to manage Minx's emotional health. Minx has accumulated a significant pile of infamous behavior over the years, which Turkey Tom has every right to comment on. It's what he does. He runs a commentary channel. Minx is a notable online personality. And so here we are. The only obligation Turkey Tom has is to make the best videos he can. All due respect, that's kind of that. Gotta say, I'm not even sure _why_ you feel Turkey Tom should instigate a wellness check. By the end of this video, Minx doesn't seem _that_ bad. Are you privy to knowledge that shows her state of mind IS that bad? If so, kidding aside, maybe _it's you_ who should be making the call. Otherwise- what are we talking about here?
@@SecuR0M That's fair. I'll concede that. Everyone deserves a beer. Actually wait- she goes bananas and fights with security guards. Maybe just a cream soda. Or Fanta.
