On paper, he's a better wrestler than Khabib. I don't think he will be when they actually throw down, but I do think he stands a better chance than anyone else in that division.
Lol doesn't mean anything. If your a fighter you should be able to deal with anyone that's what fighters do, if anything khabib won't be mentally right for hes next fight
@@kbexclusivekb yeah and ground and pound him till he has no facial features left then potentially chock him out and embarrass him in front of the world, it ain't shit ikr
@@danielmcdonald9917 but you see it's the west that puts so much stock on life. For people like Khabib, death is just another part of life. Ofc it's painful to lose a loved one for anyone, but when you're open to reality and not living a fantasy like Americans, death doesn't break you
I don't know why is everyone hating on Justin cuz he said that he'll beat khabib, i mean it's kind of an overstatement but he won't win any fight if he went there with a losing mindset, you won't become the best when you don't believe it yourself.
I think we all know that any fighter in the lightweight division would smack khabib in striking match But his ground game is second to none so...unfortunately it doesn’t make for the most interesting fights Especially to casuals
@@ViviUnum But conor can't, go watch Khabib vs Conor only striking, even gatje say if Khabib pressure is insane, that's can make stikers think twice to take close quarters with him...
@@m.ockthem9177 conor would connect very early and accurately on gaethje . If I were Justin I would keep gunning for khabib who I will have money on he beats . Cash in after on the mcgregor fight, cop your hiding and retire rich .
I think right now, Justin is the biggest striking test for conor. But Conor is definitely better at setting up attacks and finding solutions on the fly. But Justin could break him down. Take him deep and drown him. That’s totally possible. Initially I kind of wrote Justin off. But I think this could be a good fight. But Justin will be in a ton of danger early. Conor is just definitely more fluid, more precise, faster, but also tactically very solid. There is no question Justin is getting hurt early.
TheMrjxam no it won’t, gaetjie will get hit early and hard, he’s gonna get picked apart because Conor’s style isn’t for gaetjies, it’s gonna be worse than Alvarez
He wants to talk about a legendary run ? GSP also lost 2 fights avenged both losses and never lost again and retired a champion in 2 different weight classes
Oh yeah gsp is the goat but I think gaethje was saying he came off 2 straight stoppages from Alvarez and Poirier and is now fighting khabib. I’m so hyped for gaethje vs khabib!!!
Really......destroyed huh.......yeah, no. Khabib choked him out, he didn’t DESTROY him lol. I admit Khabib is amazing, but his style of fighting was always so so so boring. I love watching Gaethje’s stand up. That Ferguson fight was probably one of the best performances I’ve ever seen.
I will go crazy now and say this: Khabib is done. Finished his career in UFC. I know 98% are thinking I am crazy and don't know s..t about this sport, but wait and see. I know he would kill me, I'm not saying he is not great, it's just... Idk, he won't fight again.
He’s not gonna say when khabib beats me?¿ did you not hear him talk about his mental this whole interview? A mentally strong person would not even let that thought creep in their mind
Hunter Small I mean his recent post show him less and less lean so that might’ve honestly be it for the notorious one for long while till he starts feeling hungry again
He would starch Justin.... The kid is great.... But I've seen him take beatings from far less skilled men than McGregor.... I don't see Justin beating khabib...... But if he does and wants to fight McGregor I don't see him being able to do to him what khabib did.... He's been wobbled and dropped like 17 times in 6 fights....
If if he beats Tony, Khabib, and Conor all in a row, that is 100% legendary. *Edit: Long edit..this is not my statement this is was what Gaethje said in response to when Rogan asked what was next for him. He said he wants to beat Khabib, defend the belt against Conor and retire. He said that would be legendary and the best run in UFC history. And IF he does it, I might tend to agree with him. For those saying no way he can do it, idk. He has a chance. He is a defensive wrestler and a damn good one. Conor defended very well against Khabibs takedowns made him work for all of them, Gaethje will fair even better, has a granite chin and the heart of a lion with explosive striking. Khabib is the smart money and basically the Shaq of mma the most dominate and goes hard in the paint, but Gaethje has a chance don’t count him out, and against Conor you could see him do exactly what he did against Ferguson, only with CM he wouldn’t get up from that uppercut Conor has more power than Ferguson and higher fight IQ, but don’t be surprised if Gaethje pulls it off.
If he beats Tony, Khabib, and Conor in a row he might have an argument for GOAT, but there's no way in hell this win streak against these calibre of fighters is going to happen.
@@altamash8248 There is little reason to fight Porier knstead of Conor. He will gain mich more fame, notoriety and add to his legacy beating Conor instead of Porier. Need I remind you that Conor beat Porier? Conor losing to Khabib doesn't take away that he had some massive wins, arguably greater than Poriers.
Tony ferguson smeshes faces, khabib dry humps fighters on the ground and does very little facial damage... look at the mcgregor fight barely a mark lmao "smesh" if thats the cause mcgregor and ferguson obliterate faces.
Hey, it’s good that he’s confident in his ability to win a fight, but he should be careful about dismissing people as is if they aren’t even there. His ice castles may end up collapsing. Still, I’m a big fan of his and I’d like seeing him go all the way.
This is the fuckin fight game. If you go in thinking you are gonna lose you alreayd lost. Have you ever been in a fight? Wtf lmao Of course he thinks hes going to win. Thats what fighters do.
I'm glad that he has this amount of energy moving towards the fight with Khabib. However, Khabib is arguably the best fighter of this generation. I can't wait to see how this all plays out!
@@RF-cp7hk he said he wanted conor first, then realized he could make more money fighting khabib then conor, then said he doesn't need conor. If you listen carefully, he does want conor, he doesn't need it to secure his legacy, but he does if he wants to retire.
@@HJ-ne1gx I was going to say the same thing. At this point he is a free paycheck for anyone that’s within his level. He can beat up on low level fighters but anyone on his level he is inferior.
He just beat the shit out Tony mother fuckin Ferguson. He has the right to be confident in his abilities. He has all the tools to beat Conor. Now Khabib is a bigger question mark. Khabib is the hardest fight Justin will have
I agree with String somewhat. He just beat Tony Ferguson. Khabib will be his hardest fight but I think he's up to the challenge. Tony would have lost. Conor would get his ass whipped by justin.
The Tyro of Toriyama Yeah I hear you, let’s hope Justin doesn’t have an Icarus story and flies too close to the sun. Because if he maintains his current path and mindset he might be unstoppable.
Excited to know Justin wants to get back in there with Poirier again. That fight was incredible and to see them do it again with Justin where he is now would be amazing.
He means when he tries to beat Khabib, it is ok to be Confident, but you can be over Confident, Khabib is a Formidable Opponent, if Khabib takes him down which is very likely it is game over, Justin has an awful lot of power in his punches ,and if he can land several ,that Could upset Khabib
Justin uses the old strategy of allowing ones opponent to tire out by punching you in the head until his shoulders wear down, which might not be the most prudent course to take against an explosive striker like MacGregor
Only person this is hurting is Conor himself. You sit on your ass for 3 years and show up to a fight a Khabib in his prime? He’d be stupid to wait it out till they let fans back in the arena. Who knows how long that’ll take?!
Conor has a drug problem and doesn't want to fight top contenders anymore. He wants money, that's it. Hard to want to get out of bed and want to fight when you wake up in silk sheets.
@@absaw5735 in Europe the virus is pretty much over so it'll not take to long. In USA Trump dont care about the virus so you'll have it for a few more months.
I find it really funny how he says “I’ll just go beat Khabib” so casually. Yeah bro I’m sure the guy who is 27-0 and has been wrestling bears since he was a baby will just be a walk in the park for you
Khabib is just so damn dominant on the mat. Everyone knows and they still can’t defend it. His legs are rediculous. He’s been climbing mountains 🏔 and fighting bears 🐻 in Russia 🇷🇺 since day 1. It really seems like wrestling is the most dominant area of martial arts in my opinion.
Agree but his cardio was, is and will be garbage and cardio is the most important. He won't knock out guys like tony/gathee/khabib in two rounds. 4th 5th round Conor is broken or if he gets taken down which kills your cardio very fast
He’s busy begging for a title fight when he just beat a 40 year old lightweight at welterweight. There’s not much to be impressed about when you beat someone you’re supposed to beat. He doesn’t deserve a title fight cause Dana knows every top five contender at 155 and 170 would give Conor a beat down.
Is Conor the same fighter he was a few years ago though? Not sure what his training is like but he hasn’t been that active of a fighter the past couple years.
Not underestimating Khabibs striking would be a good start. Everyone makes the same mistake against the GOAT. Now that he retired i want gaethje to be Champ for now
He’s tryna make it look like the balls in his caught. But if he got the offer to fight Connor he would take it instantly for the money. I’ll respect Justin if he actually refuses the Connor fight if it gets offered but at the moment I think he’s just trying to piss Conor off to get a fight with him.
gyllespie He contracted himself with that line and with the Destiny line. However it’s possible he meant he wants to shut Conor up because Conor called him out and not because he’s on his list.
Also I think what he means is that beating Conner would be good but it’s not like really important to him it’s more of like an extra treat for him I believe
The way Justin talks about his place in the UFC I can really respect. He sees a vision, has a plan, and has an exit strategy. You rarely see that nowadays. A lot of fighters just want to continue being relevant in the UFC
What Porier did to Conor's legs, MAYBE Conor would have better prepared for kicks because Justin is a more notorious calf kicker; if not, he likely would have lost fighting like that
He said he wants to shut Connor up and have a big pay day defending the title he plans to win. But he's not looking at Connor as a challenge is what I think he meant
@@Luey-E but he also stated conner is not on his list, then proceeded to make a list with Conner on it. i think him beating tony went to his head big time. tony didnt look good that night either.
When you're on video, you'll be scrutinized. I'm sure we all say random things here and there. And, the fact that it only takes little nugget, shows how easy it is to be called out.
@@thatguypaul471 he has been since he beat Aldo in 13 seconds, probably even before that. But he gets a lot of hate and I don't see why. Sure, he went off the rails when he fought Khabib, but shit happens. Ppl need to move on lol
@@CHAVO-jl7sg that's his thing though. All fighters have their own ways of doing things. I've been a fan of Conor since the Poirier fight. I'm not gonna turn on him like a lot of fans did and go and jump on the khabib bandwagon
@@jukkakorpikoski3441 He states in this clip that the reason he fights is for money. Every fight is a money fight for him. The problem here is that Justin doesn't have an actual stance on anything, he just rambles on incessantly because he's just not really that smart. Without the phenomenal coaching and guidance he's received, he wouldn't be anywhere near where he is today.
@@quickfeed7592 Yeah thats true. But you see the motivation in beating undefeated champion (who beated Conor) and revenge your 1of2 losses. Beating Conor doesn't have that value, but beating him would give the most money and more publicity.
@Khabib cherrypicking Weight bully McTapper ain't close to doing shit to Gaethje. Gaethje will wreck him and be the first to finish him by TKO or KO. Just watch. Gaethje ain't going for a submission if Conor gives his back to quit again and get tapped. Conor is getting demolished.
@@roronoaitachi5263 I agree you do have to have that mentality but he doesn't have the skill set to do it . khabib isn't stupid he won't stand with him and that's where Justin is over looking him
Bend Bend “just trying to get a match” you do realise that a) the Khabib fight is definitely on and b) Justin doesn’t need to “try and get a match” he’s interim champ with the possibility of being undisputed. Everyone else is going to be clambering to get a fight with him he’s not desperate for an opponent.
@@TehCream he is not unbeaten though..so he has something new to proof thus he needs the khabib match...unbeaten record + beating McChicken, poirer, etc is whole lot on another level...he is desperate to "hopefully" beat khabib so hr can bragg that he is the 1st that did that...khabib himself defended his own title multiple times & did not do the Tony match due to lockdown, so technically he is still the undisputed champion...if not, he must have a loss record (which he doesn't)..& if u know phsycology, u can clearly see that he is trying to get a match...at this point, unbeaten khabib has nothing to prove but he has a lot to do...So yes, he is trying to get a match obviously
Dana scenario theory: Justin defeats Tony Tony fights McGregor McGregor won Justin fights Khabib Khabib won Conor fights Justin Conor won Mcgregor vs Khabib 2 Not siding or favouring anyone but i just think Dana would set this up because money.
I am khabib fan but after tony fight and after watching this clip, i become justin fan as well. He is pure hard work and dedication, not a big mouth but honest man with honest comments. I think gaethje is is a real challenge for khabib and i would say its gonna be 50/50 chance for both fighter in October.
i like gaethje, but this interview ain't helping him, he's kinda coming off arrogant. i like confidence but it feels like he's looking past khabib and that would be a huge mistake. khabib is 28-0 and the champ for a reason.
He's looking past him as he's looking at ducking him to fight Conor. That way the manager Justin and Khabib share has a 2 chances making sure Conor doesn't get the belt
Gaethje needs to cool his head He is becoming way too confident granted he deserves it but he needs to get off the train before it goes off the rails completely Say what you want but Connor is a dangerous striker and way more intelligent than Gaethje in stand up The way things are going, McGregor seems to be already playing mind games with Gaethje
Gaethje against Ferguson fought at Stephen Hawking IQ level. Don't know if it's going to be a once in a lifetime think or he just got ultra instinct reactions and calm. He was precise through 5 round and cardio smart.
Agreed come on man just go get your belt and then talk about a Conner fight you still need to beat khabib if he loses that one there goes all of his hype
Gerardo Villarreal he followed a great game plan. Justin exposed Tony’s terrible head movement and average striking. Tony should of tried to take Justin to the ground but he kept the stand up going unfortunately and although tony is tough as nails, he couldn’t keep up taking bombs like that.
Conor would destroy Justin within 2 rounds. Tony rocked Justin in the 2nd and Tony doesn’t have near the power Conor does. Not even close. Conor best Justin in July easy pay day.
Usually when two counterpunchers meet it becomes a snorefest. Thats what happened when Woodley and Wonderboy fought, Nganou and Black Beast fought and going old school when Jeremy Stephens and Melvin Guillard flought, all were staring contests
Yeaaaah but i actually give conor this one. All respect to gaethje, but conor is too fast and got a deadly left hand. Plus conors timing and movement is much superior
Imagine if he loses to Khabib, and then his plan fails at the middle. Or beats Khabib and loses to Conor. That would sting. Cause he dislikes him the most.
DirtyButler Anything is possible in the fight game. I hope he does defeat Khabib. He at least has a chance there. The only way he could beat McGregor is his wrestling but he never seems to use it offensively.
Ain't Gaethje undeated or am I trippin? If he is than he has merit for saying what he says, it might be off putting for sone but he at least has something to back that up
yes ferguson probably wasn't at his best but you have to admit that justin outclassed him. justin is loyal to his gameplan and he is much more technical than ferguson. if anyone has a chance against khabib its justin because he has right tools in his arsenal. you guys should stop being a fanboy and start seeing things from an objective point of view.
Don't get me wrong , I love Ferguson, but damn man , did you watch one video for Gaethje?!?!?! He had to much on the line and was clearly not prepared for this fight. Gaethje's style isn't that complex but Ferguson had no answer or defense for Gaethje's style and as a champ , it was disappointing to watch.
Justin is like a hero to many kids from our town. Seeing him on JRE just makes me realize he's not your run of the mill jockstrap. I love Joe Rogan, not as much as Shapiro, but still pretty up there.
But he’s brought it upon himself. Does he deserve it? No I may not like the guy but he is an excellent fighter but the drunk twitter rants and punching an old guy. That’s the type of shit that’s gonna follow you forever. I mean look at Jon Jones
When your last win was against cowboy on a 3 fight losing streak and it wasn't even as a lightweight yet you still consider yourself the best contender, you're bringing the criticism on yourself.
Bro Justin will smoke that greasy snake khabib, he’s a dirty fighter anyway but his cheating grappling won’t work on Justin, then that will open the door for lord Conor to rematch khabib and smoke him like he should’ve won the first one
