Not sure if it was possible but if I was the Vikings, I would have called the Bears about pick 1.09 for Jefferson. The Vikings could have reset with JJ and Odunze and the Bears would have the best weapon in the NFL for Caleb. It would take more than 1.09 from CHI but a good starting point for talks.

I hate that football players get paid based on whose contract is due next instead of who is the best QB. Nobody is better than JJ so he should be the highest paid. Sadly ceedee lamb or Jamar Chase (who are both great) will top his contract just because their contract is up

Ppl can't pay their bills, and these guys are getting tens of millions of dollars a year to play a game. I worked myself to pieces for my family. Dealt with 4 shoulder surgeries, kidney surgery, blown out knee, hip that dislocates. I'm now divorced, get no social benefits , no work mans comp NOTHING. It's going on 5 years of being denied benefits. Not to mention I'm a former Marine. Where is the justice in any of that

Another fan base that probably does not like this update has to be Bengals fans. There are two reasons that will make some of the worst in Who Dey nation scream their heads off over this extension. One, this pretty means there will not be a reunion of that dominant LSU Tigers comprising Burrow, Chase, and Jefferson in the pros. Even if the Bengals try to make a trade for Jefferson, it will be a massive cap hit for them, which will inevitably affect how the Bengals can build their team around their core. Two, Ja'Marr Chase will be demanding a similar contract once it's his turn to earn his big boy contract. Burrow himself will be counting up to $57M in cap space once he hits his prime, and I know the Bengals will keep Chase, but to have another $48M in cap space on top of Burrow's, let's just say the Bengals will need to hit on their draft picks to compete, cause retaining good players do not come cheap. Somebody will have to walk in order to keep the team under the salary cap.

Take Tyreek away from Kansas City Kansas City still in the winning the super bowl. Hill burns the defense and compiled stats but Jefferson makes the contested hard-fought tie game catches that electrify the team and the organization. You can't underestimate how much that helps a team

Chiefs back to back SB champs. One with juju and one with rookie rashee leading in rec. not to mention a 7th round pick RB starting. Invest in O line, D line, DB and QB. Skill positions aren’t worth 100m there’s so many good WR and RB available every year.

I don’t think this was a bad idea on their end. They’re paying what’s basically a superstar tax. Justin Jefferson is probably the best WR in the league, and they’re paying handsomely for it. It is what it is.
