I really enjoy these videos Justin. More Ziggy on set would be good😊 I used to work for a small media company in the SW. Small studio packed with everything & very hot in summer! Wires everywhere! We were running a mix of Mac’s & PC’s that made life interesting! My own “studio” these days is pretty low spec, let’s say minimal! iRig Pro Duo, iPad, iPhone,MacBook Pro & GarageBand & Tone room with a couple of cheap Lav’s. great thing is I can run it all from my Campervan when I’m away!

Hi Justin, doing some lessons on simple recording of guitars and other related instruments onto computers would be really good. I find one of the best learning tools is to listen back at your own guitar playing. I think this would help a lot of us. Thanks for all the videos and keep up the good work, cheers.

Great setup there! I am a tech for Dell as my day job, and play guitar in my spare time, so this is the best of both worlds for me :)

Great vid. I've just picked up guitar again after 20 years of not playing (I'm terrible) and would love to see some more videos about home recording, getting a good sound, using DAW's (such as reaper) etc etc...

Very nice! A couple suggestions. I think with the Kemper if you make (or have made) a shelf with a small backing so the kemper doesn't accidentally slide out the back you can affix under the desk either to the right or left may work. Also with those power bricks under the desk I would label each one with a p-touch or something and then get larger tie wraps which can be loosened (like you were displaying) and tie them all together may work as well. Great job though!

Dude!! great gear. I have a 1073 an 1176 and SSL EQ in a 500 series rack. UAD is really good but there is still something about the analog that even to this day sounds fuller. although, i think the digital stuff is like 90% there. Cheers on the beautiful setup.

I sort the order of my rack modules based on their depth. That makes it easier to deal with their backsides.

Nice set up, smart desk and interesting video. Problem with clear spaces though is that they attract mess, some sort of odd voodoo. You look more organised than us mere mortals though, enjoy your new workspace.

Cool tour and great setup. More vids like this would be interesting. Your audio for this video made your voice sound higher pitched than normal. Am the only one who noticed?

Hey Justin, looking up puts more strain to the neck and shortens the neck muscles making them stiff. Not good : ) Better to look down slightly on the monitor. I see this so often, people having their monitors too high. Maybe try monitor arm instead? Unfortunate that the Imac can't be fitted with the monitor arm mounting plate unless you order it with the mounting plate... (Unless you have an older Imac.) On the other hand, this gives you the perfect opportunity to get a new computer! : )

Great job, very nice, one little suggestion, do not coil your power leads before fixing up out of the way, coiled power cables create magnetic fields, not a good thing when creating a silent environment.

Great video, doesn't this studio have any widow natural light? Is it a converted cellar. Very impressive your knowledge of all the equipment, don't you ever have to consult a manual for the relevant technical information.

Hey there, I have an UAD Apollo 8 and im curious how to connect my mic and line ins to a db25 patchbay. Would I use all trs connectors or two cables, one being all xlr and the other being all trs. I still want to be able to use the unison plugins and be able to patch them. Thank you in advance

Hi Justin, great insight into your working environment. All that equipment must generate some heat! how do you keep it cool? Another question, what sort of building is that and is it sound proofed? Thanks for another interesting video.

Nise setup, but if you use Kemper often, maybe to try move that Kemper in the middle, and put that PC monitor on the top of it instead on those HD's..?

Man, being new to the tech side I am completely lost as to what all those gizmos do but I gotta wonder in 5-10 years, the way technology is advancing, if someone will come up with a combined unit that has all the functionality of what you just assembled...Though, that might just kill all the fun of it huh? Enjoyed the video though, even if I was lost in the application of all the devices...
@notebender4
@notebender4 5 лет назад
JustinGuitar well yeah, but... never mind...lol... I didn't fully explain it when I wrote it but yeah you're right... I do everything with a Behringer and Reaper for a daw so all of what you put together I assumed was necessary for jumping way up the curve in quality and finished product...

Hey there Justin! Everything looks great...but why don't you go out and ask if there would be any company that would ¨sponsor¨you with a BIG screen there on your back wall instead? Then you could get your computer out of the way! Even though there is a shame to hide a Apple computer! Greetings from Sweden!
@justinguitar
@justinguitar 5 лет назад
I doubt there would be someone wanting to give me a big screen - but it's fine - I just got a moving arm thing for it - arriving tomorrow!
@a4turbo1
@a4turbo1 5 лет назад
But I still think that there are some company out there that will give you a big screen as long as you have their company name, so people who watch your videos knows where it came from! Otherwise I throw out that request on the web..Which company would be so kind to help out the best guitar teacher on the internet with such a issue! Come on you big company's out there...give Justin a big screen so I and all his almost 900 thousand subscribers have something to look at!

Nice, once.. when you've done that you can walk the dog grab some bread and milk while you're out. load the dishwasher make the wife a cup of tea, discuss what to eat for an evening meal help cook it, load the dishwasher again entertain the wife of bit with your witty charm, try not to talk about anything guitar related too much even though you're really excited about having all your cool stuff nicely sorted in the man cave which day day by d is looking more like the bridge on the starship enterprise, go to bed trying to think of more ways how you can justify spending more time in the cave. Happy days. Cheers JB
