Interesting points raised by Justine. I think its also a challenge to change what the audience is expecting from entertainment, good segment on 'visual Musak' which appeals to people who enjoy background content but this slips into other shows having to explain the basics of the program you are watching so you don't feel 'lost'. People are already good at spotting generative AI output from images, text, and video, I imagine it will be indistinguishable in a few years but if the content isn't good, then nobody is going to pay for it. Then we return to the creative people like Justine to produce unique shows. But, if GenAI is capable of producing better concepts and entertainment for audiences, its hard to push back and say we need actors, writers, and producers back in the driving seat. The entertainment industry has always been about making money though. Actors, producers, directors, etc. have made fortunes. They are business model like any other sector, so the idea that they aren't going to explore GenAI solutions to reduce costs would be naive. What I definitely agree with is the copyright infringement of training models on prior work in order to output 'new' work or art. It shouldn't be possible to get a mathematical representation of your work without being paid for it, particularly if an enterprise like OpenAI is going to sell access to their GenAI suite of models which has been trained on millions of articles and artworks. The problem with seeking a sort of compensation from these companies is OpenAI will have the literally impossible task of trying to figure out how impactful certain pieces have been, or whether they pay a flat fee for training their models on creative data.... all to be seen!

Yeah, she's part of the old Hollywood Luddite crowd who wants to keep the mode of production suited to what she and her peers are used to and have benefited from. Technology evolves whether she likes it or not.
