It has been snowing yesterday and a bit today here so I decided to go out with this camera and get some footage. It started snowing while I was out and I got some really nice shots of it. Or so I thought. When I got back and checked the tape I found that nothing had been recorded. The tape had been running though as it was near the end so I really don't know what happened. I don't think it was in play mode because what was playing would have appeared in the viewfinder. Anyway I was quite annoyed at that but I recharged my battery and went back out to do it again. Unfortunately, by the time I got back out it was about half past 2 and the time of year being what it is, it's already starting to get dark by then so there wasn't as much light to get good video. There are still some okay shots but hopefully I can get out again with this camera when the light is better.
I think the auto iris is a perhaps set a bit high on this camera as it seems to sometimes be too bright to the point that highlights are being clipped. I have the service manual for it now though so I can look into that.
