“I don’t know how to not be..this is all I know”. Dude, that’s exactly what everyone here sees! A genuine heart, a pure soul, a great human being. Wish we had a whole world of people like you!
KC and the Sunshine Band had hits but didnt get the musical respect they deserved. Man, listen to this arrangement especially with the horns. This is a great song.
Music was good but let’s be honest, repeating a single line over and over and over and over won’t put you in the same class as respected bands of their era.
@@1BobsYourUncle If you look at the era that this music was made, there was no MTV, or videos. People kind of judged the band without ever seeing them. 1974 was not that far removed from the civil unrest of the 60's and like it or not, there were and still are biases based on sound alone.
Mike Cates I did that starting March 2020 and I haven't looked back! The 70s were such a great time. I graduated high school in '76, spent the next three years partying and working for the $ to party then I met my late husband November 1979 and got married August 1980. Good times.....
Love those horns! My husband and I say all the time that we miss the days when people played real instruments in bands. Even songs we didn’t like then, sound GREAT now.😄
"Get Down Tonight" and "I'm Your Boogie Man" were like that too. KC & The Sunshine Band made sure, that their was a long enough, good intro, which signaled people to, using a James Brown phrase, "Get Up Offa That Thing!".
KC and the Sunshine Band is the way I like it. I like it when the younger generation enjoys and appreciates awesome musical talent from decades of the 70s and 80s.
Dude in the 70s we all listened to the same music. I felt we were more together back then . We need to quit being divided and come together with music and dancing
You're a good man Jamel! We should have a huge dance party like on Soul train all over the world. Thanks for bringing us together to unify through music.
I'm ready for that !!! I may be a 60 year old white man but I watched Soul Train every Saturday afternoon at 1pm right after 1 hour of Championship Wrestling from Florida with Gordon Solie !!!
I think what you need to do is keep doing what you're doing! You bring a smile to my face every day, something we all need ! Love when you yell "Hey"! Don't change a thing my friend!
No choice but to move when you hear this !! Horns are amazing, lady singers amazing, KC amazing vocals and energy. Fun reaction....your smile is contagious!
Whenever I hear a song on the radio that you’ve reacted to.... I could visualize your reaction and it makes the song that much more enjoyable.... keep it coming ..
That's the whole reason that I like reaction videos! Seeing people's responses to my favorites is like getting to hear them for the first time again. Jamel's joy in music and life, and his wonderfully expressive face just make the experience that much better! 🥰
That is one of the tightest, most dynamic horn sections you are ever gonna get in pop music, Hands down! I give some love to the backing vocalists! Superb! I love you both! That is fun party music where you gotta get up and dance!
Performers always lip-synched on Soul Train - not to take anything away from their music at all, but this isn't a live performance. The live ones are always better if you want to get a better idea of any bands' actual playing and singing, Soul Train won't tell you much. ST was more about the dancing.
I live in Miami and actually met Denvil Liptrot who was part of that original horn section. . Worked with his brother for a few years in Transit. KC is from Hialeah Fl and has a street named after him .Respect
Jamel, you are already doing EXACTLY what you need to to accomplish your goal. You just keep putting out material like you've been doing, & your channel will be just fine! Don't change a thing, you're already headed in the right direction! I've seen a few other reaction videos from other people, but most just don't have the personality to keep me watching. Either you're one of the greatest undiscovered actors out there, or you truly enjoy all these old songs & all this wonderful old music & I love to see that. This isn't even the kind of channel I would normally subscribe to, but you just got the personality to make anyone want to enjoy these songs if they've never heard them before & if you've already heard them a million times, seeing you discover them for the first time is just a really great experience! Keep on keepin' on!
I love u Jamal!! We all do!!! U r the best and wow I instantly thought I'd love to have him as a friend!! U have a beautiful soul!! I can see it because it's so bright!!! Shine on !!
Also these: Band: Average White Band Songs: School Boy Crush(that bass will get you!), Work to Do, A Love of Your Own( that saxophone will bring you home!)this live version is amazing, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6F2MZ3CIvd4.html , Cut the Cake(one of the best live songs ever right here) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HNP2L1lnpFE.html
I'm a 60 year old retired Army rank commander. Grew up in northern Maine. Never met an African American until I was 21. You, my friend, have a charisma and lovability that is beyond measure! Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll bridge that gap plus attract many thousands more subscribers! You're dancing and smiling are infectious! God bless you!
Good to see you "jamming out" and "cutting the rug" to K.C. and the Sunshine Band! Always enjoy seeing you feeling the music all throughout your body...go get your "Boogie Shoes" on now! 😁 👍
Yes 1974, was great. Love to be a 19 yr old United States Marine stationed at Camp LeJeune NC. Love this song. Great time to be a young adult. Semper Fi
The message is: keep on dancing and you got rythum that moves you and brings a smile to your heart & no time to be thinking negative thoughts and hateful stuff.
I don't remember how I came across your channel, but I'm glad I did. You've got me back listening to music, something I haven't done for years. Plus I love all the knowledgeable comments from your followers. I've learned a lot! You speak from your heart, and you exude joy. If somebody put a camera on me while I'm watching, they'd probably catch me grinning like a fool. Thank you!
You said "Monday, Monday, Monday" and all I could think of was The Mamas and The Papas song "Monday, Monday." Give their catalog a try, they had great songwriting and amazing harmonies!
When people come together and share their love for this kind of joyous music that speaks of love and making love it assures me that we are really all just one human race . Peace love and boogie my brother
I know you're a genuine person and that you're heart is in the right place. We need to remember the golden rule and do our best to follow it every single day.
I just wanna know. HOW. Did. THEY. DANCE. LIKE. THAT? And play the piano, trumpet, sax and SING??? Incredible!🎉😂😅 you are genuine. You’re a gift my friend ❤
I'm driving and listening to this awesome KC and the Sunshine and my days were Cool cats love it Jamel love it!!! I was grooving and dancing while I was driving thank you for bringing back the good Awesome song keep up the great work cuz I'm going to continue listening to you awesome job
Back in the day it was all about love, harmony, unity, coming together, that was the common theme back then. There were a fair amt of bands with diversity, people just getting together, making good music. I'm so fortunate to have lived in those times. I was also fortunate to have parents that exposed me to all types of music, my dad with jazz, classical, my mom with everything else.
I love the honesty of your reaction and the joy. That's what I feel too and cannot keep still. Have to dance everyone got up for this song at the disco..
I danced to this music back in the day and it was a blast. At lots and lots of weddings too. To see young people so so enjoy music we heard and loved for the first time is a rekindled memory of joy and happiness for us too. We reacted the same exact way you did. It was just many many years earlier.I always love your reactions and fun. I always have a huge smile on my face as you react the way I know you will - even before you do. I know thousands and thousands of songs - so when I see you about to do 1 of the thousands that I like, I can t wait to turn up the volume . Thanks for what you do and for keeping it real.😀👍
This is the quintessential KC and Sunshine band song in my eyes. You, my sweet lovely man just bring us all together and your heart and soul are just huge💝💝💝
Hey Jamel, excellent channel and message that your putting out there for everyone! You truly are a genuine fun character! I'm having a blast watching the music video's and your reaction's. Can I suggest (if practical) that someone pick a song, that people can dance to, then have them send you a video of them dancing to the song. Take clips from the different people grooving, and having fun to the music and edit it into a new music video. It could be a fun way to get your sub's involved and the interaction your looking for. Again, only if it is practical for you to do. Thanks for the great reaction's!
It brings back so many wonderful memories of watching KC and the Sunshine band and listening to their disco classics. Watching your reaction makes it all the more joyful during these interesting times. Keep spreading the love and the peace, Jamal. Watching your reaction to music that I love and grew up with makes me smile and fills me with happiness! Keep doing what you're doing. It's a great service to us all! 🤗💜
I just realized how strange I must have appeared to adults back then, when I was under 10 yrs., running around singing this chorus. Oh, those innocent days! 😅
I know I’m going to get killed for this one, buttttt, when I think of this era, early to mid 70’s and the skating rink on Friday night, the first song I think of is “Kung Fu Fighting” by Carl Douglas. I don’t know how many times I busted my ass doing kicks on skates 😂😂😂😂😂
Me too!!! I think king foo fighting!! Gets u in great mood!! And what's the name of that song ^ I really love your peaches wanna shake your tree"?? Loved it skating with that crazy music sound they do in it but love it!!
You are already bringing people together Jamel. During these turbulent times, YOU are one of the blessings we needed. Unity will always override division.
I was born in the 60's and I grew up with these groups, and more. Chic, and pointer sister's, Glades night, and the pips. We would play she's a brick house, all time. Love me some 70's. Love how you feel the beat and emotion! So much fun watching you enjoy the old music like me, and my friends, and family. We love to dance.
That horn section is awesome. You cannot take your eyes off that groovy horn section. Wow. I have always loved the Sunshine Band and these guys are why.
