Don't downplay the fact that this performance was at an awards show. That means the audience that went bonkers was her peers, not her fans.

I will never ever tire of kd Lang. She is a once in a millenia treasure . I think angels must weep with joy at the sound of her beautiful passionate voice.

Interestingly, Leonard Cohen's partner was interviewed after this very performance of Hallelujah, and his partner said, in short, that Cohen thought he could "lay that song to rest now. It's really been done to its ultimate, blissful state of perfection." I couldn't agree more. I've heard other versions of it, but this is my own personal favorite.

The Juno awards honor Canadian talent for musicians and vocalists, KD is probably the greatest singer the country ever produced.

K.D.Lang song Hallelujah, really is perfection. I am having a hard time in losing my partner of 40 yrs. I listen to this song often. It really helps especially at Christmas.

Yes, I 'm a kd lover from the start, some over 30 years ago. She makes me cry, or just overwhelms me with whatever she sings about. I'm glad she struck a chord with you just now...I very much enjoyed listening to her with you. She got inside you with those words, & I know how good she feels. Thanks.

Thanks so much for this one! k.d. replaced Neil Young at the last moment at the Juno's when he had an aneurysm. She sang this again when Leonard Cohen was celebrated at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. He kissed her afterwards and said it was the best rendition he’d ever heard. I was at home watching the Juno's in 2005 and will never forget this moment, we knew we’d seen something extraordinary. When she sang it in the “white suit” it was one of the Centerpiece moments of the Canadian Winter Olympics 😊 new subscriber, thanks! Ps, you must react to her “Crying” at the Roy Orbison tribute.

Of course we love K.D.. If you want something fun from her, look for the life performance of "Bopalena" from the beginning of her career when she was into cowpunk. A warning though, it is so obscure that you will not many views for it but if you want something to listen to, give it a try even if it is on your own.

You mentioned the Grammys. Here is a live performance that lasted. (mind you it is two artists doing the better part of two songs). This perfomance resulted in a standing O from an audience that can be hard to please :). It was a Janis Joplin tribute, so it plays much better if you are familiar with these Janis songs.
