Very interesting indeed. I have both the 17-55 and the nifty fifty, so I’d be interested to see if they release an official compatibility list and improved firmware. I think fringer released an improvement for the 50mm f1.8 STM performance
I haven't used my 50/ fringer combo in a while, kinda gave up on that but I do use the other lenses a lot. Actually at the time of writing my 55-250stm is on the X-T4 with the fringer as I was snapping some birds in the wind yesterday out my front window.
Hi John. Try this link: www.kentfaith.co.uk/canon-ef-lenses/KF06.465_canon-ef-ef-s-mount-lens-to-fuji-micro-single-fx-mount-camera-electronic-adapter-ring-for-autofocus
Great review Damian. Looks a decent product for the cash. I'd love a finger, but it costs more than most of my lenses. I'd then have to factor in buying Canon compatible glass as I've now sold all mine when jumping to fuji. But for those who still have Canon lenses, or just to open up the choices available I think it's a winner.
Hi, I just got the fringer Nikon to fujifilm adapter, I like it, seems to work well, although I wish it didn’t have the tripod mount at the bottom which doesn’t look good on small cameras…..
Hi Ricky, potentially you can get it via their website but I haven't checked fully for you guys out there www.kentfaith.com/KF06.465_canon-ef-ef-s-mount-lens-to-fuji-micro-single-fx-mount-camera-electronic-adapter-ring-for-autofocus
Hi Damian, how does this compare with the Viltrox Ef to FX1? I have the Viltrox adapter and it's rubbish and was looking for an upgrade but can't quite afford the Fringer
I remember the days of Conurus, up in Canada, adapting Contax N lenses to Canon EF. VERY pricey, and they had a big enough demand that they had to shut down to expand the company. But, even with the rear end altered, there was no auto focus. And I don't remember any focus peaking on my 5D Mark II either. By the way, I think this video just sold some Canon lenses..
Hi Damian! Thank you so much for putting this out! I've been wanting the Fringer for a while but the price has always kept me from pulling the trigger. It might be worth it for someone with lots of Canon glass but the purchase is difficult for me to justify. The alternatives seem less than stellar and some of my lenses aren't on their compatibility lists. So I'm curious, would you say that the K&F is close enough to the Fringer that the internals might be the same, or are there slight performance differences? And as for the lenses that don't get along well, how is manual focus? Some people don't like manual focusing, but with Fuji's focus peaking and setting the ring to linear focus, I've found it to generally be usable with native lenses.
In the same boat Paul. It's hard to pull the trigger on the Fringer at the current price point. I bought some Canon lass to try with the manual version on my XT-4. It's completely useless without aperture control. Been sitting on my shelf for 6 months. Cant seem to find this adapter on Amazon yet
Great review as always! Very helpful! Was hoping my sigma 18-35 could get som stab with this. Alas not. But, I can use it on FUJI, that is a step in the right direction!
I'm new to this type of adapter, and haven't looked at any Fringer reviews yet, but whether it's the K&F or Fringer, are they weather sealed? While watching this video I wondered if an adapter like this would be the weak link between a lens with a weather resistant seal, and the camera itself. Thanks again, I enjoyed the video.
I don't believe this adapter nor my fringer are weather sealed no so if that's important it might not be good unless you had ways and means to avoid it being a problem.
Good question, I can't see it either. I'm going to ask them. As for the warranty, I found this 2. When does the warranty begin? It begins the day you place your order. 3. How do I claim the warranty? Before submitting a warranty claim, please refer to the specific FAQs for your product and attempt all troubleshooting suggestions. If you believe the item is defective and under warranty, please submit a Return or Exchange request on the product‘s support page, or contact us at customer@kentfaith.com
Good video, thank you. I have the chinese commlite ef to fx adapter. And it does not work good, so i decided to upgrade the firmware. The update is not possible (via mac or windows). It is a rar packed „fir“ file. The computer did not recognize the hardware. Do you know this adapter, and did you hear about this problem too?
I bought an K&F Concept EF-FX adapter. Unfortunately, the autofocus only works partially or not at all. The aperture cannot be changed on any lens. Unfortunately I couldn't find a firmware update. Can any one help me?
@@DamianBrown I wrote to K&F, they can’t give me an update. But I tested a little bit. In some cases it works. For example in focus mode “C” I can change the aperture. In Manual mode it doesn’t. I will say it works to 50%. You need to know, this works not in every situation. A little bit sad for this price.
Hi John, there's a shot with the price here in the video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oN7HGkFWDxM.html think it's sitting around 144 at the moment
@@DamianBrown I got it from ebay it is fully kf branded, looks same as yours but definitely suggests its rebranded commlite based on the manual. Maybe they just add their own parts tonight like the orange ring.I've tried using the commlite firmware but it doesn't update, weird
