Shout outs to all of my Patrons for making this video possible! I've been wanting to record this one for a while, but I didn't have an instrument that was suitable for playing the accordion-sounding parts. But thanks to my Patreon supporters, I was able to do some shopping around, and I ended up buying the harmonium that you see in this video. This thing is super fun to play, and I'm looking forward to using it again soon! The next time you see it will probably be in a Gruntilda's Lair medley.

This sounds off from the original, don’t get me wrong, it sounds amazing, but it’s clearly not as good as the original. A lot of ambient elements are missing, the timbre of a lot of the instruments is off due to recording effects. Still good tho.

Mr. Fart, you should stop leaking music from Nintendo's secret Super Mario Sunshine HD remake for the Switch, or they'll sue you. Jokes apart, this is like a dream coming true. Super Mario Sunshine is one of my favorite games of all time and hearing it's soundtrack being played with real instruments with such fidelity to the original arrangement is absolutely incredible. You never fail to amaze me. I'm so glad that you're back posting regularly. :D

Even though it's usually trashed, Sunshine is one of the best 3D Mario platformers. I think people are in for a pleasant surprise when it releases on the Switch this month. The OST alone makes the game worth playing.

Yeah, the decay of the chords on the original recording seems to be artificially fast. I tried shortening the chords by stopping the strings with my right hand, but the tempo was too fast for that. So then I tried shortening the chords by releasing the strings right after I plucked them, but since some of the chords contained open strings, that didn't really work either. So then I tried retuning my guitar so that I could play all of the chords without using any open strings, but all of the tunings I tried made some of the chords unnecessarily difficult to play, which normally would have been ok, but the fast tempo made getting to those chords a lot more difficult. So then I thought about just using a noise gate or volume automation so that the decay of my chords would match the decay of the chords in the original track, but ultimately I just decided to allow the track to have a natural sound.
