Nice video bro thanks for putting this out , I own a 2014 Tahoe ltz eventually thinking about upgrading to a newer one but going to soon install an k&n filter so thanks for the video
I have a 2014 tahoe LTZ as well, and i just installed a cold air intake (spectre), but i keep getting a check engine light. I am still looking to solve this issue, I know it is the new amount of air thats coming into the filter. SO be warned and look up fixes for this issue.
Kory Hinman I really wish I did a before and after on the sound difference.Just wanted to give everyone some feedback on the installation process. You can check out my other video of the cold start if you'd like. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G8qVKhhs7GI.html
I have a 2016 Tahoe LTZwith a Gibson Exorcist system.. Before air intakeI had no enginel lag, after installingBlackhawk intake, sound louder ,you feel the extra power, But I now have a lag in Acceleration and RPM Rev high and takes a while before RPM returns back to normal. I checked the following: * All hose and clamps are secured, no air leak. * Cleaned Mass Air Flow Sensor. What do you think, ? Did I miss a step? Thanks John
Sorry for the miss spelled Exhaust. I wanted to add that the two plastic hose connect that comes with the system is weak and one broke under normal use. I call K&N and they replaced them for Free with an upgrade black Aluminum. Everyone should call it in, K&N is aware of this pomblem, I received my replacement parts the next day, I was amazed of the quick response.
Hello Mike nice video have a question. I see you didn't use the quick connect connectors that came from Chevy on the 2 hoses. Any reason why. Because i'm about to buy one and have it installed soon. Thank you.
Hey Luis, thanks for checking out the video. To be honest, I don't remember why I didn't re-use the connectors that came stock with the truck. I don't know if they didn't fit with the tubes that came with the K&N system or what. Maybe I could've re-used them, but I didn't think about doing that at the time. Sorry man, I wasn't much help on this.
I noticed the gains from the intake in the higher RPM's from 3500 RPM and up. It sounds a bit meaner as well with my Corsa sport exhaust. I'm looking to do a black bear tune next so that I can get the full potential from my exhaust and intake.
Please let me know how that comes out. I have a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 V8 5.3 about to start working on increasing Horsepower. Thanks again for taking your time out to reply to messages.
Nice man! Good choice on the truck. Definitely look into Corsa exhausts. This Blackhawk Intake is a great addition. Also AFE Momentum intakes are great as well. I believe those offer more HP gain than the K&N. American Racing Headers will add some good HP. Also, the Black Bear Tune will allow full potential of your mods and you can also delete the AFM that switches your truck in and out of V4 and V8 mode. Good luck with your mods!
I really just eyeballed it at the parts store. The clamps are adjustable in size. I just bought ones that had a turn handle on them so I didn't need to use a screwdriver.
Sorry I'm recently educating myself on this stuff so If I sound dumb sorry. But what is a resignator. Whats it do . And why did you get rid of it. Thanks in advanced. 🙏
It will. There are other intakes out there that are 50 state carb legal. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them, but it looks really good inside the engine bay. Pretty easy to uninstall as well
You get about an 8 HP gain, but not sure about MPG. I liked the way it looks inside the engine bay and it made the tone of my exhaust a bit more aggressive.
