Dr. Sooyeon (Aly) Suh is a clinical health psychologist and professor of psychology at Sungshin University. She is also the author of the book 엄마의 잠 걱정을 잠재우는 책.
Our conversation explored the science and psychology of sleep in the modern world and how this has interacted with particular aspects of Korean culture, including co-sleeping, children's mental health, gender, sex, and social media.

Would be fascinating to look at the sleep habits of K-pop stars compared to the rest of the population. I'm pretty sure when the BTS members listed their 소확행 (small but definite happiness) a few years ago, many of the lads had sleep on their list.

@@DavidTizzard worthy of Phd study. You can see in the thousands of videos of BTS them just falling asleep as makeup is done or them just lying on the floor sleeping during MV shoots. There are videos of staff holding up JKs head applying make-up as he is sleeping 💜

It's called 데자와 (tejava) and it's a convenience store milk tea. I often arrive at the podcast studio after a very busy day and need something to help me concentrate on someone else talking for 3 hours so I've got in the habit of having one of those because it's weaker than coffee and not as sweet as coke. My old drummer Zach used to drink about 3 of them every night when we were playing together so I partially blame him for the habit haha Are you based in Seoul? I actually have no idea who you are.... lmao
