Been a long time, but I'm finally ready to put this out...
Happy to answer questions about everything I forgot to mention.
If y'all are seriously curious, leave me a comment, and I'll put a bunch of different frames on these bad boys to do a more in depth analysis.
Hope everyone is holding it together out their in TV land...
Standby for more rollerblading reviews, first impressions and mildly entertaining GoPro day edits.

thanks for your time, I think I recognize the feeling you describe, I'm a 45-year-old rolling on a pair of old salomon shoes that are no longer made, so now it's probably time for a pair of new rollers

Such an awesome review, not a lot of play for big feet skaters out there. This vid made me decide to get me pair, with longer frames of course. So excited!

1000% Skating these gives me SO MUCH appreciation for folks who used to DESTROY in these skates. They have a wide variety of applications, but it takes practice to master K2s in the discipline of your choice. Thanks for the comment homie!!

I had this setup on the older Uptowns that were kind of purple ish? Really good skate but mine were too big, been tempted to go back to this setup ever since. I had the K2 Varsity soul plates on mine, which were extremely difficult to find and honestly weren't that great.

Great video dude! Aby chace they will fit flat feet? I mean if arch shape is deep like healthy feet or not really? Still didn't find skates that would fit me painless. Thanks!

I'm convinced these skates were made for people with irregular sized feet. I would still try downsizing, but maybe only a half size (if that's an option.) Or, if you use some kind of orthotic, these have PLENTY of space to slide a pair in and still have room to wiggle your toes. Hope that helps! Lemme know if you have more questions. PEACE!

Old post but did you ever find a skate that accommodates your flat feet? Going through that issue myself right now lo

Hey man, I would like to pick your brain about whether to get these skates, or a more urban skating specific skate. I'm just getting back into skating after 25 years off, and I'm mostly looking to do some urban skating. I'm torn between the FR1 and these K2 Uptowns, because the FR1 skates seem more specific to the kind of skating that I want to do, but I'm really drawn to the flat sole kind of skating you're talking about in the video. I hate wearing shoes with heels in them, and the kind of exercise I do generally requires me to have my weight over the entire foot and not on the balls of my feet, so I quite use to having my weight centered over my arches where my weight is equally on the heel, outer edge and balls of my feet, if that makes sense. That is where I'm most comfortable, so that is why I like the idea of a flat soled skate... BUT, my question for you is, when you're skating a raised heel skate like an FR1, does it feel like you're on the balls of your feet, like you're wearing high heels? OR is your weight evenly distributed throughout the whole foot? Do you think there's a specific reason that the FR1 skates, being a raised heel skate, would be better for urban skating vs the Uptowns?

@@lostbearings Thanks so much for the reply and your feedback, I really appreciate it! So I actually ordered them both to try out and I ended up going with the FR1. I did like the K2, but despite sizing down in them, my feet were swimming in them and I didn't feel like I had any control as my feet would slip around inside. My pretty light, 125lbs / 5.8', and as a result my feet are pretty low volume and couldn't couldn't fill the boot. I sized down in the FR1 also and they fit very snug, which I like. Just like you said, the raised heel feels normal and doesn't feel like you're on the balls of your feet or leaning forward. I actually removed the shock absorber to get it a little flatter, and I really like the feel... Seems like a good middle ground. Thanks again.

Have you tried the Roces 1992? I'm also a size 15, when you said the k3 were big, was that in length and width?
@lostbearings
@lostbearings Год назад
Hey Drew... SOORY this it LATE. If you're still curious, the K2s are a little long, but fit me fine width-wise. However, totally worth mentioning that my feet are WIDE and COVERED with bunions and nasty shit. Sorry. TMI. But that's who I think these are meant for! I know some other folks with BIG feet who wear Roces cause they have large sizes. But PLEASE order them from somewhere with a cool return policy. They're NARROW. But, that translates into high performance for the right foot size. Please don't hesitate if you got more questions. I'm always down to help other big-footed-bladers. LOVE/PEACE

@lost bearings Since the time of asking my question, I've purchased a pair of blue valo tv2 in 13 US. Was hoping to get them to fit with little modifications. Cut the sock and tried heat stretching the shell. I can get the boot on my foot now but it's painful tight. I'll definitely start looking for some k2, thanks for yiu time!

Know EXACTLY which skates you're talking about... Those things are beautiful. Sorry they aren't working. If you like those, I would try the Blank skates next. They sell em shell only at Roller Warehouse (not sponsored) and they are roomier all around. Keep me posted... I wanna help if I can. LOVE/PEACE.

My feet are almost exactly a "foot" long - twelve inches - or roughly 30.5cm. Please don't point and laugh if my math is WAAAY off... I'm a product of the American public education system.

Did you buy a size down from your normal shoe size? I have a shoe size 14 foot, so should I go for the 13? Also, I haven't skated in like 20 years. I'm split between these and the Rollerblade XL. Any advice? I'll probably get both eventually, but want to start with just one. It kind of sounds better to feel like you're in shoes rather than being on the balls of my toes, but I don't really know in practice. Thanks for the video.

One HUNDRED percent. I've seen of folks SHREDDING in these exact skates. My skill level means I had no difficulty doing basic grinds (even with BIG WHEELS frames.) Should totally do another edit about these as strictly "grinder-blader" skates for 30 days.
