Great video. I will say that the beck bk2 will process the big bottom piece of wood that you are using as a base in this video. All you have to do is start splitting at the outside angles of the wood working you way Toward the inside of the wood. It obviously can't start splitting down th middle of the larger wood due to the lack of blade length. It will take a bit longer to process the bigger piece of wood but it can produce smaller pieces of wood broken down starting from the outside working your way toward the inside. Once you get toward the inside of the wood you can start to split larger pieces of wood to its capability.

If you only have one knife to choose I believe this will be it. I own one for a few years now and it honestly does everything. Of course a lt Wright gen would be better but it doesn’t have the weight to chop like a bk2. You can honestly chop some wood down, baton and break some wood down, then make some kindle and start a fire. When I go to the woods I carry my bk2, my bahco saw and my mora bushcraft. That’s my set up and I can build and start a fire with kink problems.

BK2 I remember was considered THE knife to get for awhile. And those are some cool mods. I never got to use one but it looks like it's a champ. Great review. I think situational awareness videos would be awesome. And you've piqued my interest about the collaborations.

Yeah, I believe they corrected it, and they also offered a nylon sheath at one point. I would have to research more to see what the status is now.

I agree with you! I wish they'd come out with a 7" version of the BK 2. Ethan could call it the BK 27.

Full disclosure: I'm not a BK2 fan, which makes the work you've done on this blade all the more impressive. If I didn't know better, I'd want to go out and get one! Excellent mods, especially to the grind!

Thank you, it was the knife that came up the most when I first started researching survival, so I went with it and it did the job, but I def have some that I like much more.

Charles, use the Lanksy Quad Sharpener to change the edge° if you dont like it. Then use the Lanksy Quad Ceramic sharpener to keep it sharp. Excellent two system sharpening system for field use.

Excellent video. The Beckers are definitely the best mod-able knives. I also know what you mean about BRKT, though I'm more like that for ESEE. Though I'm partial to my custom knives.

You need a lanyard for your chopping machine. Don't chop to the right of your left leg, to the right of right leg nice video thou.

Bk7 might be what you want length wise or bk9 even.

Its just to thick IMO, I went through the thick knife faze I only have my Cold Steel Srk in Vg1 which is a perfect sweet spot for an all purpose knife. I think Beckers best knife is the Bk7 but their Crewman bk10 is also a cool knife if ya like the short bk2 its much thinner but just as good. I like your vids man SUBBED.

TheLankyWoodsman I'm starting to like full flat grinds, I love carving and scandi knives are great but for all around tasks plus wood the BK16 makes sense. I just bought one of Real Steels new Bushcraft Plus knives, it comes in a high scandi or full flat grind. The scandi version is to thin IMO but this full flat grind is one nice knife, they are making some really good blade designs. It comes with a combo sheath, nylon with molly loops plus a removable kydex sheath, g10 scales that remove and a hidden lanyard hole in the butt of the handle. I've seen many knives lately but this one really had something new and the grind is excellent. Its also thick stout blade but with the awesome angle of the grind you get a perfect taper to the edge. Canadian edge reviews has a really good review on it.
