I was thinking the same thing, they could have chosen "Begin Again" or "Everything has changed" as a representatiom of the album, but instead, they decide to use the poppiest song on RED, to present the album as a country record, it was like them subtly saying "We are not going to give you that grammy with that song in it", haha.

Same Trailer, Different Park is a perfect country album with an influence of Americana. That's why it won over other nominees. Red has pop influence, Night Train has rock, Based on a True Story and Two Lanes of Freedom are bro-country.

As much as I loved Red and I mean All Too Well, Begin Again are in there, it doesn’t sound too country for me. Unlike Kacey’s Same Trailer, Different Park, who I also love. It’s pure country with such incredible songs like Merry Go Round and Follow Your Arrow. Red, in my opinion, should have won Album of the Year instead.

My favorite artist, Martina McBride presenting to my favorite "new" artist! Love that Kacey won, she really deserved it. I own Same Trailer Different park on vinyl and LOVE it. P.S. I recommend buying it on vinyl, the sound can't be beat! :)

I really do think that Red deserved this award, but I'm glad that Kacey won it. Same Trailer Different Park was an absolutely beautiful and amazing album, and I don't even think she's at her biggest yet. Another thing, Taylor is definitely still country. I hate how they played I Knew You Were Trouble. It made her seem like she's not country anymore. If you actually listened to the album, you'd know that she's still country. It makes no sense as to why they'd use that song instead of Red, which did really good on the country charts, and is still charting.

Same Trailer Different Park is so underrated. Aside from the obvious Merry Go Round which is a damn masterpiece (imo) and Follow Your Arrow, you also have Keep It To Yourself, Blowin Smoke (brilliant), It is What it is, Silver Linings (inspirational) and Step Off (another personal fav).

+Beto AR Just what I was thinking. There was a few country songs on Red (Begin Again being the most obvious candidate) but they went and used the least country (but most popular) track as the promo for the award - being 'I Knew You Were Trouble' - and overall, the album was not in the country genre. Kacey was the obvious choice for this award. She has the potential to be the most critically acclaimed country singer of this decade. What a legend!

To me, Red sounds a lot more like a country album than it does a pop album. Tbh, the only songs in Red that sound more pop than country to me are the albums big singles 22, I Knew You Were Trouble, and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (coincidentally those were the songs that pop record producer Max Martin helped make). The only non-single I can think of that sounds more pop than country is Starlight.

Today. That I am commenting on this video I just listen to Same Trailer Different Park before even I can comment on this video :) It's very debatable for Which is Best Country Album. Especially Red and STDP But I think Kacey Musgraves Debut Album deserves a win. It is the best Country Album on this It would've been gone to Taylor Swift. Her Album is very great but Kacey Album is such a amazing Country Album

They should've submitted the album to Pop album category though She promoted like 4 Pop singles from that album, and only 2 country singles + the country singles are not massive either + she has country gems on the album such as All Too Well and I Almost Do, yet not release them as singles

Yeah, she is. Her music is more about life than say romance. Merry go' round, Blowin' Smoke, are her two biggest hits. Personally, I like "Silver Lining" to her mew single Follow your arrow. I usually listen to one or two songs on albums. But I could listen to her whole album with maybe skipping one or two songs. There's not that many artists I could say that about.

True, however, Taylor alienated much of Nashville with her 'pop" sound, which resulted in a backlash from her core fan base...both are talented..I'm more impressed with Kacey as a Country star with longevity...Taylor is and will be a pop star for years to come ;)
