The book "kafka on the shore" tells the stories of the young Kafka Tamura, a bookish 15-year-old boy who runs away from his Oedipal curse, and Satoru Nakata, an old, disabled man with the uncanny ability to talk to cats.
@@user-cz7qw6og4eThere are a lot of amazing aspects to Kafka as a character, whether it be his psychology, dynamics, or development. However, what I believe to be the best aspect in his character are the themes he represent, that of destiny, past, and one's place in the world. I don't think I can explain this aspect of his character well enough, as honestly it is something that I really recommend for you to experience it yourself, but there is a quote in the beginning chapter that I feel perfectly encapsulates it: "Sometimes fate is like a small sandstorm that keeps changing directions...it will cut through flesh like a thousand razor blades...And once the storm is over you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won't be the same person who walked in. That's what this storm's all about." -Boy Named Crow
could you please be kind enough and specify in which comment section they said that ? As far as I am aware , merc is so rarely mentioned in terms of writing that those types of comments aren't that plausible. U always say that RI and LOTM fanboys say this that, like them no diffing kafka, marcel proust, bazorov etc, but I have yet to see such comments. Also, the person u have tagged hasn't read LOTM, if I remember correctly .@@user-pf7xj8dh7e

It is indeed really amazing. Imo, it's the best but also the strangest book that Haruki Murakami wrote. Imo he is easily the best written Japanese char (of the ones I have read)
@@user-cz7qw6og4e nah bro kafka is way higher even beatrice was never close ... bro is in top 5 best written characters in history with people like Myshkin and Bazarov and leopold bloom
I mean, novels have existed for way longer than any other type of storytelling. There have been more time to improve, so it's obvious that relatively new storytelling types like, comics, series and videogames still haven't reached the same level in terms of highest peaks
One of my dreams as an inspiring writer is to be featured in this channel and dominate everyone in writing and maybe power scaling. W edit, Perfectleaderofsever.
Same with my boys, Joe yabuki, reinhard von Lohengramm, yang wen li, Karl kraft, jacopo 😢 Also, Bern, morgana, as well, they all got annihilated by a 15 year old. Not fair. They need their own introduction. 😂 Especially char like mercurius who is criminally underrated.
He is easily the one of the best japanese char imo. He high(+) diffs beato. Kafka on the shore is the best but also the strangest book by Haruki Murakami. Tho you could prefer a char over an another.
@Your_real_dadIf you meant genre, then it's magic realism/fantasy fiction. If you mean themes explored through Kafka, there are many, such as alienation, sense of identity, loneliness, sense of loss, destiny vs. free will, search for meaning, existentialism, etc.
@Your_real_dadThat being Said, imo the journey is much better than the end. the journey is very beautiful in how it is presented. But I don't know why I always found the ending of Murakami's books wierd.
Bro's been teasing this for nearly a month Requests day 174: - Pietro Wilson vs Calvin Lucien (writing) - Rimuru Tempest vs Ainz Ooal Gown (leadership) - djkaktus vs Placeholder McDoctorate - Rimuru vs Azusa Aizawa - Goblin Slayer vs Gobta (Tensura) - Quinella/Administrator vs Monika - Your brother vs your sister (writing) - Natsuki Subaru vs Yoo Joonghyuk (writing) - Me vs comp WoD - Hajime Nagumo vs Iwatani Naofumi - Yog Sothoth vs Octopus (IRL) - Transcendence couple (2747 & 3812) vs Nothingness trio (The Absence, Nobody and Neverwere) - Blank (NGNL) vs Ayanokoji (intelligence) - Demon king trio (Anos, Rimuru and Akuto Sai) vs Kim Dokja - CapEditz (Edit force) vs fiction - Dr. Wondertainment vs The Doctor - Arcueid Brunestud vs Neko Arc - Swann's proposal vs Supreme Author - SCP-2747 (Bed Force) vs Dr. Bright (Pedo Force) - One Punch Man vs Mob Psycho 100 (writing) - Keyaru/Keyaruga vs Aijo Rentarou (writing) - Comp Joker (DC) vs Joker (P5) - Kafka (Honkai Star Rail) vs Hibino Kafka (Kaiju no 8)
@hempelskarasu8038 in search of lost time is also quite hard to read due to its non limear narrative structure, lot of introspection, proust's unique style, etc. It can be overwhelming. (I haven't read it, but that's what one of my friends said) Also, I heard that the swann's way is easily the best part (lucky for you, it's vol1 of Isolt). Overall I heard it's like a novel unlike any other. (Extremely good)
"Where does your responsibility begin here? Wiping away the nebula from your sight, you struggle to find where you are. You're trying to find the direction of the flow, struggling to hold on to the axis of time. But you can't locate the borderline separating dream and reality" (Chapter 29, page 154 | PDF) (FYI: this is my headcanon when I saw it, so take it with a grain of salt, my mind is wild at connecting unrelated stuff) At first glance, I associated this with absurdist & existentialist elements conflated with the ideas from Hegel, the themes I learned from Wonder of Pursuit's videos. Then sudden click I introspected within my experiences. To think I have been wandering around aimlessly without direction, with so many choices to choose from. it is not boredom, not being tired, not being burned out, it's something else that I can't describe, while you are it. As your perception of the world becomes grey chained up by the responsibility that is work, school, or whatever. Gradually losing grasp within the overwhelming boring monotony, time passes by faster. And faster, eventually, you will lose its grasp. (That's what I thought deeply when I was first looking into it.) To deviate away from conformity, one ought to rationalize happiness & create meaning in an absurd world, a holistic form of meaning, the one where it avoids the problems of Goodhart's law. Perhaps I did not word it correctly but I think you can perceive a grasp of what I am saying, i was in a rush because of the excitement I had when I saw Kafka Tamura on the notifications. Super W for Capeditz219, my man rightfully takes first place in All-time, Japanese Literature. I am at chapter 33-ish (I forgot exactly), it's amazing so far. Even that is an understatement, I can't precisely describe how good the experience is. Request: - Upgrade Nobody's intro - Nobody vs Dr Bright (Outsmarting) - Nobody vs Murphy Lawden (Outsmarting) - Nobody vs Junko Enoshima - Nobody vs Kokichi Ouma Edit: I messed up the paragraph so bad I had to correct it multiple times, this is subject to change.
@user-cz7qw6og4e I can't say precisely what makes him a great character since I have no experience in thematic analysis/literacy analysis, and second I haven't finished KOTS. Third, I haven't organized carefully the information that KOTS has given, like for example: overall themes, messages & many more writing categories. Fourth, I don't like to sheep on public opinions without strong justifications or I don't comment on something when I don't have the necessary knowledge to further or prompt a conversation. but I suggest you read the novel to find out and get a physical copy for the full experience. I certainly can't since I can't afford the luxury of buying a physical book, even then there are no libraries in my area since I live in a third-world country.
@@VIRTUALHORIZON-001 It's okay bro i just want to know the main quality that make him a great main character as i heard of people saying that he is the goat.

ITS FINALLY HERE 🔥🔥🔥 This Kafka fella must've gone through a lot of shit to be called the toughest 15 year old over Yuji I need to see if my local book store has this novel Requesting: Sherlock Holmes vs Detectives
I may not know much about Kafka, but he sounds like an absolute goat. Also Mercurius cameo! That's a first here! Maybe you can make a Writing comparison video for him eventually, he's underrated as a character.
Ya Mercurius is extremely underrated in the writing department, and dies irae as a whole is underrated. They are completely overshadowed by Hajun due to wis battle. It's very unfortunate the first time they got introduced they had to go against the best written Japanese char, (one of the best written character overall) They need their own introduction, like Mercurius vs baku/hal writing would be fun to watch. The slaughter
@@Powerlevelover9000 Yeah, Shinza Bansho unfortunately is more known as the "Hajun verse". Dies Irae's writing is up there, and a match-up I'd love to see is Mercurius vs Beatrice in Writing.
@@Hugm4lsecondaccount my current Pfp ? I rate Oberon Vortigern highly, imo he is better than baku/hal, but beato/jacopo is better. I just like his character a lot. His personification as a lie, contradiction between his saying and actions , his conclusion, his background being explored from midsummer night's Dream by Shakespeare, his subtle nihilism, his backstory (him being born almost as a corpse), him trying to be truthful to others, but all he knows is how to lie(internal conflict). His is known as the Oberon the lier after all, the plot twist, his identity reveal , him saying he doesn't like anything in the world(which is a lie, as he still search for his star Titania, he is also shown to care about those that were kind to him, like when his forest got burned down he got sad and angry) everything is really good. He is one of the best c written by Nasu IMO.

And just so u know how good written he is, he NEG diffs the entirety of animanga, VN and LN and nearly every character memtioned in this video. He is also in top 3 fictional characters in writing. Edit: he also no diffs every character in usogui, umineko, THIFM, re:zero (take this subaru fans) and monster lol (this was especially for their dick riders saying best written character)
No diffing char like Beato and Jacopo is going multiple step too far. BAZOROV doesnt no diff Beato, even Harry du bois doesn't no diff Beato. Also, Johan at the start was overated (saying he is the best written character), but now a days he is getting undermined.

@@Powerlevelover9000nah I just scale kafak really high so I have it like that. Kafka is like top 3rd in fiction and beato and Jacopo is like top 20. And wdym by even harry doesn't no diff beato? Bazarov is definitely better written than harry and like top 2nd (just below bloom and harry is like top 5th) imo bloom no diff both, bazarov no diffs both kafka no diffs both and marcel very low diffs (+) both. Feel free to disagree i just scale literature characters like them really high (and I know harry is the protagonist of game disco elysium) and I just find them way better and their character is also much better explored them them.
@@amtulsaboor3831Comp Harry would scale much higher. (As his character can vastly differ with different interaction + skills) his political ideology can go from communism, moralism, liberalism, fascism (so does his character change according to that) Either way, even Bazorov (fathers and sons) doesn't no diff Beato. As much as I liked his complexity, his internal conflict (due to his nihilism), his prefect conclusion(his demise partially due to his held beliefs), his dynamics, his philosophy , I don't see him no diffing Beato. Or may be u scale Beato lowly.
