As an older fan of Voca (started listening around 2012) it makes me rlly happy to see people are still commenting on older songs :) Even if this is a newer upload, it's good to know people are still hearing Neru's masterpieces!!
The fact that I've related to this in 2013, being a suicidal fuck myself and seeing how nothing has changed since then (IN 10 FUCKING YEARS) is making me unbelievably sad. I am now trying to become a teacher myself in hopes to help save this broken system, but what can I, a single person, really do? I still see my students (I teach in a cram school rn basically, because I can do that while being in college) burning out, struggling with self-worth and becoming depressed. And I can do nothing but cheer them on from the sideline. This sucks.
Hey don't say that, I was the quiet kid no one really talks to so I felt sometimes bad Abt being left out, and then, I got to deal with materials I found hard to understand, math was especially hard and it did make me cry of frustration, but you know what? I fucking loved my math teacher, she loved her job, it was fun, she encouraged all of us to try. So no, your actions do make a change, at least we enjoy that class before the next one, if we joke a bit around we can relax and so on. Changing every single student's attitude is impossible and not your responsibility, some will keep drowning in their bad thoughts if they don't get professional help, but at least you'll make their day a lil better 💙
i know this is late but im in highschool and actually considering becoming a teacher for the same reason! i know the few good teachers i had meant so much to me, and though i switched to homeschool because regular public school was just too much, i hope that in the future i can make a difference in at least someone's life. i hope everyone that reads this is doing alright, and even tho im just some random person on the internet im proud of you for being alive and trying
please remember that you are amazing. thank you so much for all that you're doing and trying to do. no matter how much you think you can't do, the fact that you're trying at all shows how much you're already doing.
Don't underestimate the power of a kind teacher. If my teachers were a 100% circlediagram, then: 40% would be willing to help, but (sorry) unable to help anyone with anything, so they meant well, but they did not give you attention or help and would just not know what to do (a.k.a. if you ask for something specific, they deny help. So I don't mean unable as in, just too busy, but actively unwilling to go further than the bare requirements.) 30% would be unwilling to help and unable to help and did not mean well and made things actively worse and would condone bullying, because they mistrusted everyone in class. 10% would actively try to make things worse, join in with the bullying, actively encourage it, humiliate kids in front of the class until they cried and thrive on the adrenaline. 10% would go éven further and s-assault the girls, encourage others to harass students, laugh about violence happening and join in, in their eyes some people were worthless. 10% were angels and were helping to keep everyone affloat, took their personal notes or learning-tools to school (to help others better) and were especially kind to kids with disabilities. They would encourage you, they would listen, they allowed the bullied kids to hang out in the classroom in lunchbreak and would praise you if you tried. They trusted you, they gave you permission to take initiative on projects or have a seperate project instead of the main one, if you wanted to. One teacher, Karen, bought us all ice-cream on a hot day once, when we couldn't focus on math. We were 16, but it was much appreciated and she spoke about art for a while (taught us about Dali and Esscher) because she figured nobody was ready to listen to stories about numbers now and she wanted us to learn something, so she chose art instead. It was incredibly refreshing to have a teacher like her. They are too rare.
Ik exactly how you feel. I'm an online esl teacher, and my students are so stressed and so sad. And there's nothing I can do. Some want to be soccer players, but their parents don't want them to play soccer, even though he's really good. But if I'm too out of line with my encouragement, I'll lose the student and get into trouble.
