Kahles k525i DLR and Why I Run a Kahles? 

It's too bad I can't legally sell my own organs to buy top of the line products or put a down payment on an overpriced home. $3500 for an optic is steep for the average working man trying to raise a family in the worst inflation in 40 years. Great content as always.

Just a quick comment on Kahles warranty service. I have I k624i that I bought used which had an issue tracking. It would work fine one time and off the next time. Called Kahles and explained it all. No problem. Sent it to USA facility, they shipped it to Austria, repaired and back to me in a month, totally free. Can't beat that!

I shoot an nightforce ATACR 5-35 and think it is awesome, however my buddy who used to shoot with the same scope showed up to the range with this Kahles. What absolutely shocked me was the mirage that I could see vs my ATACR. I was extremely impressed by the clarity and mirage that I could see I am considering changing over. Thanks for a great video!

Agree that the magnification knob on the K525i is smooth and doesn't need that extended throw, and the parallax knob absolutely needs the extended ring. By itself the parallax knob on the K525i can be difficult to turn. Thanks for the breakdown of the DLR. Would have been great to see it at SHOT 2021... RIP SHOT 2021.

I don't own a Khales but I bought a Steiner M7xi a little over a year ago. True German optics are phenomenal no matter if you choose Khales, Steiner, or even a Zeiss Heinshold. My purchase was very expensive in my eyes, I don't make a ton of money but if you can save your money I would highly recommend spending this kind of money.

Im planing on buying a used tikka t3x tac a1 with a kahles 525i ccw msr2 on. But I just noticed that the windage turret is on the left side, im used to having it on the right side. Is it ment for left hand shooters ? Any pros/cons on having it on the left side when ur a right hand shooter?

What did you like more about the Kahles than the ZCO 527? It seems most consider the ZCO to be a significant step up at nearly the same cost. I’d be interested to hear a differing point of view. I’ve been happy with my K16i, but I’m just getting into long range optics now.

I dropped my 30lb rifle. It landed on the elevation turret. I kept shooting it Vortex fan bois: the warranty covers you for that. I'll take a shitty warranty for a more durable scope

At about 4:37, the image in DLR seems having much less Chromatic Aberration, didn't realize they changed the optical algorithm too.

I don't comment much, if at all on any RU-vid videos but I am very impressed with the video and sound quality. The fact that it doesn't sound like a cheap $2 mic makes my ears happy. Enjoy the content, the podcast, and honesty (who shows their rifle taking a ***t of a barricade while filming). 👍🏾👍🏾

Eric Cortina “Pro F-Class shooter” chooses kahles optics as well. I think they push game forward by being unique. They are aesthetically pleasing as well. Little cherry on top. Keep kicking ass.

Welp this is the nail in the coffin. I'm buying the DLR and spending the money I would have spent on the Tangent Theta on a bipod and scope mount. Any chance we could get a full installation and maintenance tutorial for the DLR in the near future?

I am lefty so the parallax is amazing on the Kahles, I wish every scope put the parallax in that spot....but I have to keep it real, if I am spending $3500 on a scope it will be the ZComp.

Phil pronounces it correctly. To many people pronounce it wrong by saying “kales”.

what are the bubble levels you use on your scopes seen in the video?

I just got the dlr and the elevation turret doesnt sound as good as the windage turret as you have mentioned. Still its next level compared to nightforces elevation turrets and i dont see any issues with it.

I'm far from being able to afford a Kahles. I want to learn the full spectrum of long distance rifle shooting. I see this activity as something I can entertain myself with as I grow old and will someday pass from this world So I am going at my own pace. It is probably because of this that I cant see myself pushing myself hard to learn the math but I do know it is something I will need to do. I also see that I need to be more acceptable to the idea about learning about high dollar state of the art equipment and not just things I can afford therefor its good to hear honest reviews of products from somebody who is not afraid to show their own mistakes or is not financially affiliated with the products being reviewed. Thanks glad I subscribed.

I bought a not-DLR 525i at a good price. Having seen this vid, I like the wider field of view on the DLR but I'm not impressed with the limit on elevation travel at 20 mil. Not enough for ELR and not enough for an expensive scope. The non-DLR 525i gives you the full mechanical range, not a 20 mil artificial limit.

My Nightforce Atacr F1 7-35 mil xt wipes it ass with the K525i
