Kaiju no Kami Reviews - Mashin Sentai Kiramager (2020) Series 

I wasn't in love with this show, but I have to say that Juuru's introduction really hooked me. Him ducking and diving through the battlefield while drawing the Kiramagers was not only very funny but also a great way of visually conveying that his natural combat prowess comes from his great well of inspiration and imagination. That's what really warmed me up to him even before he became the team's supportive backbone rather than a spotlight thief.

I gotta admit, Kiramager might just have the most over the Top roll call Pose out of all Team in Super Sentai and i love it

Given that Naruhisa Arakawa was the director, there was no way this would fail. Given the dudes track record with Kuuga, Abaranger, Gokaiger, and many more.

For Carantula, he had split himself into 5 like what happened to Sena. And one of those 5 were destroyed for him, that's why he had a change in character when they all merged back. It wasn't an out of nowhere change.

It's sad that the actress for kirama Green stopped acting after the show ended...

I’ve been waiting for this one

Hi Kaiju, hope you have a pleasant morning and I just to say a couple things before you publish your video and what you might say judging by your thumbnail. Kiramager is hands down my all time favorite show that I have ever watched and that’s mainly because that it’s all crystal themed with a plot and premise that is unique and I especially loved the ranger suits seeing as though they’re also crystal themed. My favorite ranger would have to be Juru and that’s mostly because of his innocence and the fact he is the youngest of the group and I have never been happy with this characterization in a long time. Seeing as though several previous red rangers are labeled as the annoying hot headed types like Takaharu from Ninninger. Next my favorite villains would of course be Galza. I love his design, knight armor and helmet and the fact he is voiced by the talented Yuichi Nakamura, this guy is such an icon. I was happy that he (for a while) became the new emperor and his new appearance was amazing. My second would be Yodonna, I’m not sure what are your thoughts about her but I just want to say my personal views about her. For starters I love her outfit, it gives me The Raven vibes by Edgar Poe and this is also cemented the fact that when she licks her tongue a ravens caw can be heard and the reason why is because Rio Komiya, the actor who played Juru was the one who made this idea. Those two were like the only villains that I enjoyed, while the others were one note or just straight up annoying, like Carantula. I also hate the actor who played who also played Meemy I know you said he was a fantastic actor but he just did not leave an impression on me. I will say Emperor Yodon (while one note) did have intelligence, as he fooled everyone Galza killed him when in reality it was all a trick to get his enemies at their weakest. All in all, a really great show and this was the final Sentai show that I watched and what I mean by that is I just got tired of seeing more and more Sentai after the next I just wish Toei would stop at this point. Can’t wait to see your video. Side note: I missed your review with Shaider but I was happy that your review was mostly positive and the show was one of my 3 Metal Hero shows (the 2 being Spielban and B-Fighter) can’t wait for your other reviews.

LOVE Kiramager! Its on par with my other Fav Toqger. It had the pine apple pen guy, Yodon's absorbing persona powers & other unique stuff. As to how I'd go about a PR adaption? Possibly a spiritual successor to Zeo, with elements of King Arthur & Thor. 1 scrapped idea I had was a Weird Al Cameo, or as Muryou's counter part.

Wasn't that the one where a clip for an out of context sentai compilation that has a woman being turned into a mannequin came from? Then one of the following one where one of the rangers tries to carry his teammate turned mannequin and said she got heavy, causing her eyes to glare towards him like a gag anime.

To me this one is 10/10. Why? Because it have everything that should have good Super Sentai show: - great protagonists harmonized with each other - great, classic Sentai story, very well written - great, charizmatic villians (Yodonna is one of the best female villians for years IMO) - great costumes, designes etc. - great action camerawork, great battles, mecha etc - great music (especially the endig is one of the most catchy songs I've ever heard in Sentai - non boring filler episodes (of course there was worse episodes, but which Sentai show hasn't it?) AND an additional advantage for me is main theme: I'm not into horror stuff, I prefer kira kira, fluffy tones...and these show have it the most (even just the classic presentations of each Kiramager is pure, colorful poetry). The only thing that I could complain to is medicore pink ranger. The actress was not very expressive and too little kawaii. Oh, I forgot about one thing. This show was made during covid time...and as it succeded so this a double success for Kiramager.

I can confidently say that Kiramager is an amazing season. Definitely a step up from Ryusoulger both in terms of story and characters, with the latter being more character focused as everyone gets a chance to shine. Especially with Juuru and Sena (my favorites) they’re basically Lucky and Hammie done right.

In defense of Crunchula defection, there actually a good explanation. Earlier the episode when ask how Crunchula still alive when he explode previous episode, Yodonna explain that was clone of Crunchula. And as establish when Sena was clone, is not actually clone by division of her personality. And since Crunchula in that episode (the rap which explode) seemingly take more initiative, we can assume that is his ambition clone. So without his ambition to rein in his artistry side, which is why Crunchula defect from Yodoheim since they prevent him from creating what he want. Now, for what they did with Garza at the end, that was total horse-poop

also with Juuru's special ability the unfortunate implication is that he created the Zenkaigers, as in he gave birth to them, lol.

Kiramager is an interesting sentai becuase production was affected by the pandemic, can’t wait to see the video

Well, it’s nice to see a comeback after Ryusolger, but I’m not sure that Zenkaiger is gonna be as good(probably not).

I love how this show sort of has a Showa era kind of design to it. Like the suits, the helmets mostly, reminded me a lot of Maskman and the monsters were also very Showa esc with their design, they all looked like they'd fit right in with Gorenger.

Juuru is my favorite red ranger along with Haruka(Oni Sister) as a fellow artist honestly I would love to have his powers to bring drawings to life.

I just watched the Be Bob Dream movie last week and when PPAP started playing I died laughing as it did not occur to me that Muryou was played by Daimaou Kosaku until then. I just did not recognize him without the pencil stache.

the transformation devices didn't feel as flashy or cool though, always felt plain. Just used to transform, talk to each other and couple other things. Was not used for much else like other series did feels could cool better . That felt like my only issue other then that the series was a lot of fun, enjoyed

I wasn’t fond of the series at first given how much they save on the monster of the week budget and how silly all of them look and act. It’s so weird ryusoulger held back in bringing dinosaurs sentai back since it’s more knight base, but gekiranger manage get squeeze in this series randomly. Thr best part of the series is Galza and his robot along with his rivalry with red and somehow silver as well replacing his brother. The characters like Galza, Silver, and his sister family dynamic was actually well flesh out for modern sentai except for the pen and pineapple guy. Also, the main villain’s twist is reveal in the final episode like zyuohger and a lot of showa series final boss. It’s very vague to what yodonna is since she is yodon, but not. They bought the same question back in the valentine special for yodonna again as well introducing heaven and hell concept for their dimension just like kingohger did last year. People keep saying this series started the sentai reiwa renaissance in that every subsequent series is somehow new and refreshing or retro yet different. However, despite its lower budget and popularity, it’s yodonna that get a return special every year four years in a row. That’s a whole bachelor degree.

Now can Kirameiger finally break the streak and got a 4-star, which was last awarded to Gokaiger or will it continue being 3-star and below or will it manage to win Kaiju no Kami's heart and receive the elusive 5-star, which was last seen with Gogo-V? And more importantly, will the time Juru point-blank headshot a motw be mention?

Honestly I feel you can forgive this, Kamen Rider Zero-One, and Healing Good Precure because of the year they had to deal with. Also Mabushina's voice actress also did Ciel/Cure Parfait from Kira Kira Precure witch is cool. Also this season has the best red ranger in reacent seasons. Also I think it's just me but the gems on the helmets remind me of the Sailor Scout tiara. Now is it a perfect season no but way better then the last season soley because it's a different motif then we had in the past.🐻

It’s so weird how little the kiramager presence were in all 4 yodonna specials. It’s an excuse to get a lot of former toku alumni to guest star in it ranging from stinger being kakihara’s elder brother to a bunch of abaranger actors being guest in the flower shop. It also involve a lot of b movie violence and ecchi stuffs with real AV idols. Something, koichi sakamoto is known for like inoue beside action. The last episode even feature a girl sentai like team with all the actresses being from yodonna’s actress idol agency. The agency even manage to get a lot of their idols to act in prominent roles in the big three toku in the last few years consecutively.

It’s not the zenkaiger review yet but I think it wuold have been cool that the villains from that show where not so openly evil with is robo people being more of an corrupted government that used the casuallity of all the sentai mechas being robots to control them and get to their dimensions and conquer the dimensions them and the main four kikainoids are some kind of rebels (and an unlucky janitor in case of vroom) that worked with kaito’s parents to stop the evil empire from still conquering dimensions

This season was ok. A high positive ok but an ok none the less. However, as much as I enjoyed this season I did feel a Sentai burnout because I was watching a handful of Sentai seasons as they were airing (that being Nininager, Kyuuranger, LuPat, and Ryusoulger so after Kiramiger I needed a break up until KingOhger. Did I have a favorite character? Yes that being Shiguru Kiramei Blue. And yeah the camera work is probably the best thing with this show because I think Toei is still filming with drone cameras. I am going to rewatch this season because I haven't seen the Yodonna specials yet so I'm gonna take the opportunity to do so because I am rewatching (I'm rewatching Ryusoulger right now on my dinner times on weekdays to switch up doing something different) or have re-watched shows I have seen already that being Shinkenger, Goseiger, Kyuuranger, LuPat, Kamen Rider Hibiki, Kamen Rider Stronger.

The main thing I know about this series is when Sentai started going cheap in it's monster designs. I could understand this show's as it was a reference to the Masked Monsters from Gorenger, but after that the quality goes down low, reusing the same costume but with different heads, Ryusoulger seems to be the last Sentai where they put any effort into the monster designs.

It only goes up from here well my opinion atleast oh and also hopper hopper~

Actually wasn't the leader of the Druidons Master Eras a female, based of the queen chess piece. Also Yodonna isn't the only one there's also the witch Numajo the one that put the curse on King Oradin, sure she's not a prominent as Yodonna in the series but she's still very much a female villain.

Actually Minjo did appear in the show but it was in the past.

Its crazy to think that the only seasons you have left to review are Zenkaiger, Donbrothers and King-Ohger. Man, what I would've given for a Mashin Sentai Kiramager vs. Gekiranger film 😭. Also, don't think I asked but will you now be reviewing Ultraman Taiga now that were getting it on Blu-Ray? Fun Fact, this was the Sentai season that was airing when I got into Toku

Kiramager was good but i have a few hang ups with the mechs, i was expecting them to combine but they didn't, to me that was a wasted opportunity. Also, i recently learned that after Juru's actor got the "you know what virus" the main cast started to argue a lot, it was never explained why tho, but it was said the arguments were severe. I suspect it was paranoia over who gave Juru's actor the virus, either that or they were pissed their characters weren't getting the same attention as the others (Juru did seem to steal the spotlight most of the time, not to the same extent as past Red Rangers tho)

If I had nickel for everytime a sentai had an episode where the team face off with a sniper-theme motw with an ability to travel in his own dimension.... That have him take out the team one-by-one leaving the yellow and red, who is the youngest member of the team and the only one still in high school, as the last two survivor That end with yellow, in power-up form and bow-based weapon, and the motw having a shoot-off after the yellow manage to enter the same dimension after tricking the motw into thinking they got him, I had two nickel. Which isn't lot but weird happens twice

I like the cat episode it ridiculous weird but funny and cute because they enjoy it so I don’t hate it tbh

Honestly, I have some things to say about this show. The first one is that this could be a good Power Rangers show if adapted right? Who knows. Maybe even Hasbro may turn it into the reboot if things don't work out a behind the scenes, but that's just one of my thoughts. The second is that this would be a good place to start Super Sentai for anyone who wants to get into it and finally this is the beginning for The shows going forward using the same body type but just a different head or torso for the monsters of the week not sure how PR would handle this so they had to adapt One of these shows but who knows maybe they'll make original monsters of the week or use suits from other shows. Overall, this is a good show and I wonder what the future of Power Rangers and Super Sentai have in store for us until your review of the next series, good night.

Is having musical numbers in a toku series inherently bad? Does it not matter as long as there's context? For example, one of the heroes could an aspiring musician.

Kiramager is simply just magnificent. Its very straightforward yet it does an incredible job with its cast, So much of the stories are beautifully done. If there is one thing i have to say about this show is the Kanaema stones felt weightless after Mabusheena got healed. They just meandered and the episodes here and there are boring. 4/5 I have a Zen, I have a Kaiger Zenkaiger is next. Note, I honestly think Metalder is a pretty good show the issue is the lady chick is not really the greatest.

The Best Reiwa Sentai.

I kind of wish that Gekiranger and Kiramager had a crossover, but Riki Miura/Gou Fukami/Geki Violet is retired from acting.

Kiramager another sentai hood classic better then those 2 seaman Stains written by an army of kamen rider loving aholes who just love 2 piss us off anyways there were some good stuff in this sentai season the red ranger didn’t say his annoying catchphrase in ever single episode thank god I did like how he’s an art history fan even I’m an art history fan myself anyways I did like how the red ranger was the 1 who try to give these crystals there mech forms and u know me u know I like mecha with personality anyways the villains were also amazing cause of Garza having a rivalry with the red ranger the suits were cool the mecha was interesting and better then those cube mechs from zyuohger cause u see zyuohger doesn’t have taking mecha anyways this sentai season deserves a 4 out of 5 stars

I believe Kiramager is what you called a true 1st reiwa sentai in terms of villain's design were back to old school as well the giant monsters. Kiramager is one of my favorite sentai on my list. All the rangers are likable Juru is is my favorite reds. All the villains are great specially both Galza and Yodonna are my favorites. All the aspect of the season was very well explored, the story was great my only negative I have is the climax of the story were Galza was turn out to be brainwased all this time in the entire plot like "what in the!". I know that the show needs to wrap up due to covid delays but come on there is so much better way than that freaking overrated brainwash plot. I like to thank Naruhisa Arakawa for a good script the show is not perfect but the show was great. Too bad, I think Toei in Precure Department won't hire the likes of him. For the mecha design I like them all, my only negative I have is Mashin Jetter is became a sword only and that's it. I thinks much better if Mashin Jetter became a backpack of Kiramaizin. Weapon Problem? Let Juru's imagination take care of it. Speaking of Precure, I know you don't watch that show but let me share why Juru was my favorite red ranger and whats the connection with the precure. As I said in your ryusoulger review, the last heisei precure Star Twinkle Precure is one of the painful season that I ever watched. In that show the gimmick of the season is imagination while the motif is space, there's a character name Hikaru/Cure Star the pink cure is a very imaginative person, the only problem is she didn't to much as a leader, no character development plus her being imaginative person felt nothing in the entire show. In the case of Juru's characterization he is very smilar to Hikaru's character but much better and not too much bubbly red ranger, the reason why that makes Juru as a character to be more likable leader. The Imagination gimmick (Kiramental) in Kiramager was so much better than bothToqger and Star Twinkle's imagination gimmick.

Kiramager had for me at least the first good ending theme since ninninger, jyuohgers was ok, kyurangers I hate honesty, lupat didn’t even have one, and ryusoulger do I have to say it
