Let me remind people Trump and REPUBLICANS had the house and senate in 2017 - 2018 they could have pushed thru border funding down party lines , INSTEAD THEY GAVE HUGE TAX CUTS FOR THE WEALTHY down party lines , and use the border as a WEDGE issue .
Biden reversed all of Trumps policies immediately after taking office- so it would not have mattered - Biden’s WH has rewritten all of the procedures for the US Border Patrol as well - now they are powerless.

It included the ability to completely shut the border down, increased funding and hiring for the BP, increased funding to process claims and increased authority to reject illegal crossers. But Trump doesn't want to Biden to pass anything meaningful in an election year. He can't allow him to get a political win.
The "border" is right wing code for "racism." Media discussion needs to change to "immigration policy" or something better. Keep asking Johnson what HIS legislation contains on immigration.

I notice in a lot of these interviews these Republicans will go "but the fetanyl" and when reminded that most of the fetanyl is coming through legal border crossings they'll respond "but the fetanyl" as if they never heard the response.
Thats because - not all Fentanyl is coming through legal crossings. There are a bunch coming in through illegal means as well - with the migrant flow. With the Border being open is causing not 1 problem - but 2 - problems - it doesn’t take a genius to figure that out.
You obviously don't know what is happening at the border. Most of the fentanyl is mostly snuggled in not at port of entry. They know they will catch it, so they send a little bit to the port of entry while the bring across loads in unprotroled areas.
Even as the republikkkans had the white house, the senate and the house of representatives, but did nothing than a 2 trillion tax cut for the very rich ones.

Kaitlan Collins does not allow politicians to regurgitate talking points & distract with emotional manipulation of the audience. She's all facts. I honestly respect how dogged she is in not letting politicians dodge & get off the hook. It was obvious she finally got under Johnson's skin in the final moments. Brilliant journalistic interviewing. Go Kaitlan!
She sat there while Johnson claimed that "by every metric" Joe Biden's administration is a failure, and the best followup she had was, "Some say the Republican's haven't accomplished anything". How about job creation, or the unemployment rate, or GDP, or energy production, or the stock market, or infrastructure, or.... How is she so unprepared for this job? This interview was sad.

Go back and watch all of the 2019 Democratic Presidential Debates. Texas takes in nearly $2B of federal funds into its economy every year from border security funding. That supplies 250-300k Texans with jobs. Plus, Americans don't have enough kids anymore to support economic growth. If it were that simple, it would've been done already.
