Constructed from the four letters BACH, this piece offers a range of beautiful sonorities, with instruments of different timbre and tessitura blending together to create both contrasting effects and moments when they become one. Géraud Chirol, born in 1962, studied composition with Guy Reibel at the Paris Conservatoire. He is particularly fond of writing for ancient instruments and temperaments, and in this return to his roots, he renews the music of today. An organist and teacher, he heads the Fresnes regional conservatory.
The event was co-organised by The Ivry-sur-Seine Municipal Music School (Ecole de musique et de danse) and MusEA a non profit organisation for amateur chamber music players (Musique, Espaces des Amateurs).
