Probably because he was just a boy the last time she saw him and recognized Superman as Kal-El because she built the crystal for him when he reached earth and that he reminds him of Jor
Yep! Thank you. Tal is in human clothes, Not standing by someone with the symbol of the house of El on his chest. She'd have no way to know and Clark might as well be wearing a nametag with that 'S'.
@@lisamurphy7028 He's not of the house of El... the rules of Kryptonian heritage are very like medieval Europe, the houses are established on descent via the male heir, not the female. Tal is of the house of Rho.
Such great scenes with Tal-Rho, Kal-El, Jordan and Mother/Grandmother Lara. You can really feel Tal's pain and really feel sorry for him. I feel there is still good in him, he just has to figure it out on his own.
Ooooo!!! I'm so glad Jordan is getting to meet his grandmother. I wish Jonthan could be there too. I hope that Lara can help Clark find out what's happening.
Thal Ro is literally the "Bad Uncle with a Bad Past" trope, and I really love that. He acts like what a person with his past acts. He didn't believe in some sort of "Higher Purpose" or just "Destruction for the sake of Destruction". Dude just wants a home. He just couldn't see that a shelter was available for him, as he desperately built a stone house from the ground up in the middle of a storm. The dude is just lost... Damn, I can't believe I actually like another Kryptonian after Zack Snyder's General Zod. Good job to the people that made this show, from the writers all the way to the actors.
More like his logic and common sense kicks in. Although, since he doesn't know the custom of Kryptonian, there's no way he would think that things that he considered normal for humans are actually not common on Krypton.
That is who he is. While Superman was raised and identified as Clark Kent first, Tal Rho is a proud Kryptonian who only used the name Morgan Edge to further his plots among humans.
Lara does have a point, the Kryptonian Kids were made by genetic but Kal-El was born in The natural ways,so Jordan your father was born in The born natural ways.
I agree with Jordan Clarks fortress is way better but Tal reunited Clark with his biological mom Lara so he's a little good for doing that. I wish I could meet my biological mom and Jordan got to meet his Grandma too.
He's actually one of my favorite characters. In my opinion this is what happens when you don't deal with your trauma. I would never condone any of his actions. However, your heart breaks for him. All he ever wanted was to be loved by someone. He wanted a family. Everything he never had but because it was unattainable but because so many people dropped the ball when it came to him. I hope we see more of him as the series progresses. I'm interested in his arc.
No matter how much I love Tal-Rho, and I do, I kind of have to laugh at him here. He's in handcuffs and human clothes standing apart from a man wearing Lara's Crest...technically Jor-el's. She has no reason to think he's Kryptonian much less related to Superman/Kal'el. But this scene still rocks how much in humanizes and sympathetic-izes his brother in Superman's eyes.
It’s definitely a parenting oversight on Clark’s part. Jon doesn’t know anything about his heritage. There’s bound to be some subconscious resentment about that within him. Hopefully, this season will address this aspect
@@tifflthom oh, absolutely. I’m not saying that Jon should be here in this scene. It’s dangerous, and Tal ended attacking Jordan. However, Clark has never taken Jon to his OWN fortress to meet his grandfather or learn about his culture. That’s just wrong, and there’s no real excuse for it.
It's very annoying to me. Even without powers, he's still half Kryptonian. Kryptonians didn't even have powers on their planet. He's still Clark's son. I get that in this situation, he's a liability though and he'd be a target. But, it keeps happening and if they're going to leave him out, they need to let it affect him and his characterization.
Tal-rho feels like a much more sympathetic version of homelander don't get me wrong he's a great character but I think homelander is the type of villain that you're supposed to hate and even when you can sympathize with him, the goal is still to hate him. Tal it's different, he just wants his family back and is 100% justified to feel the way he feels. From the moment he came out of his pond he was treated like a monster.
Probably not since the films division of WB will not allow most film characters to be used by CW. But that could change...not likely but might happen with the possible sale of CW. The DC characters could be folded into HBO.
I just love the redeeming arc they gave to Tal Roh. He isn't just some villain who was locked up trying to deceive his way back out and plot his revenge, he actually was sincere about his long-term pain, torment, and suffering. And the longer he spent with his brother, Superman, the more he could understand his views and make them his own. At least, that's how it seems for now while he is in the Bizarro world just on a long-time vacation. But I think the clue to that is the fact he bought two trucks for his nephews, which says a lot... it's like Vegeta: his may be the biggest character development. I was really glad to see that. Personally, I would love to see more of them fighting alongside each other.
Tal Rho gives all alien test tube babies a bad name! Makes sense when Kal El becomes a hero and his evil half brother turns into a villain! They had great power but only one of them used it for good
The Eradicator was the coolest new character that came from the Resurrection of Superman story arc. It’s a shame they rebooted him to be a machine and not the hero he originally was.
I'm confused. I Haven't watched the show, but what snippets I've seen from Clark and his family seems solid. Question for the people who've seen it: how do you feel about this seemingly endless parade of people from a long-lost planet popping up, just one after the other? Superman's...BROTHER?!
. . . . . I'm with Tal on this. . . . a mother who never knew of your existence until it was too late; she literally said that, was unable to ever love him. Maybe this verse will alter biology or change kryptonian biology. But the greatest affection of a mother for her child is biologically generated when the baby is in the womb. Children were engineered? Mother's were unable to love them with full maternal potential.
I don't believe that. Kara's parents loved her and she was engineered. Fathers love their kids that they never gave birth to. Adoptive mothers love their kids. I don't believe that the greatest motherly love is only with someone you give birth to. There's a lot of parents that don't love their kids they birthed. That's an ugly statement and I don't think the show or the mythology is saying that all Kryptonians were unable to love their kids except for Jor-El and Lara. That's bs.
@@femalerevan you're right. motherly love is possible when never giving birth. Not undeniable as the body prepares the body and mind for motherhood when giving birth, but possible. However she only "loved" him because she knew she had him somehow sometime. She never ever spent time with him, he was essentially abandoned by her "until it was too late." Then she loved the "fact that he was her son" but she never put it into action or test. A mother who was never present and never raised her child might've "loved" her child. But to the child, she is a stranger who may as well have no love but rather hate for them
Yeah, these guy's're damaged by their parents fooling around; not as badly as it *could've* been, but still... these alien men are profoundly messed up by their mom having had an affair.
She’s engineered like the rest of the Krytonians. So basically a test tube baby. I think the difference with her is she was raised & loved by her Parents.
Why the genetically created babies aspect works in this and not in Man of Steel: MoS says Kryptonian babies were created to fulfil a specific job, without their consent. Jor-El and Lara don't want Kal-El's future decided for him so have a natural birth.... however, Jor-El goes to the trouble of creating a man sized superhero uniform for his infant son, and programs the AI sent with the ship to prompt Kal-El into doing a specific job without his consent.
@@xcaliber4141 Consciousness is not data. Consciousness is that which observe data. Its non-reducible. Only clownish Hollywood can up with stupid concepts like "upload your consciousness", which doesn't make sense even from a fantasy perspective.
Sadly probably not gonna happen but at least we have this show, the producer of it said she loved man of steel and this show is especially inspired from it.
Me? I haven't anything at all against the *actors*, nor do I even *want* to find anything to have against them; but merely for the abilities of these alien men: I *absolutely* mean them harm, as in *eternal* harm; but to do that... the first "hammerfall" must be against the *virtues* of the man in question; and only once that's thoroughly destroyed do you move against the body, with the aim to ensure the total demise of the creature. The sole reason is humbling myself- that and that alone moves one to hate anything even remotely above oneself... yet I did and do take real delight in this show.
@@leonmcnair4615 my original comment was made when s3 was on the air the fate of the show was unknown at this point that’s why I said to OP that the show being cancelled was premature they only decided to renew it for the last season when s3 finished
@@karenbell5309 Ah okay, fair enough. See, I came to S&L when all 3 seasons were already out for a while, and shortly before s4 was announced. I didn't know there was a "threat" of it being cancelled - it seems really too good and well-received to be
