It is like the one thing I don't like about the show. The flying is totally enough to prove that he's Superman. Most braindead people would see someone float off the ground and look at his face and put it together he's Superman. But apparently he still needs to also lift a truck over his head or freeze a tree...lol. Also, why can't they just say that the glasses are charmed with an incantation or magic spell or something? Something that causes people to see him as physically distinct from Superman? They expect us to suspend disbelief that an invincible alien can fly. But the idea that the glasses were magic is a bridge too far...? 😂🤣 It seems a lot more believable than the idea that a person's own kids can't recognize them when they aren't wearing glasses. 😏

It isn't just glasses. Superman slouches heavily, wears clothes a size or two to big to disguise his muscular body. He wears his hair differently. The glasses dampen the unnatural color of his eyes. He changes his voice. He changes his personality to be more meek and afraid. Everyone just rags on the glasses thing because it's the most obvious and overused thing in most Superman presentations. They ignore all the other things. Clark goes through a lot of effort disguising himself.

By todays standards, Making a movie or tv show about Superman or Batman is like making a movie or tv show about Jesus no ONE version of Jesus on tv/movie is going to universally please everyone, it’s literally impossible. @@Damienp3902 the breaks happen anytime anyone on set tests positive for COVID. Just a preventative to make sure no one else on set gets sick so they can resume shooting as soon as possible. That’s the reason for each delay outside of the mid-season break. It’s annoying, but since this show is so good I really don’t mind.

There's more to Superman than how he looks. Plenty of people look like celebrities, but you'd never go up and accuse them of *being* that person. Now, imagine something like that, but the person they look like is effectively a *God.* You don't expect to see Superman walking down the street, drinking coffee and being a lovable dork. He bends steel with his bare hands, soars through the sky, lifts buildings and stops super-villains. Why would *God* have a "secret identity"? "Man, Clark looks a whole lot like Superman, should I say- nah, he probably gets that all the time" That's as far as most people will go with it.

@@shadowspidey7327 Yes. But she's only known *Clark.* His mannerisms as Superman are entirely different. As Superman he's the very definition of confidence, authority and power. Not in a menacing or overbearing way, but a sort of universal father-figure. But Clark is somewhat skittish, awkward, a little bit of a klutz and just generally seems "small". There's also the fact they've actually done some studies on this. You can quite easily fool people who know you by simple modifications to your physical appearance, if you also change how you act. Our brains suck at quickly registering fine detail, so we take in the whole. If there's a "misalignment" between what we know a person to look like, and what we know a person to act like, we often fail to recognize them. You need both bits for it to "click". Then take into consideration that while people are around Clark a ton, 99% of the time they're around Superman he's literally above them, or doing something utterly incredible. I'd argue that an interaction with Superman has more in common with people's claims of experiences with divine intervention than with a person to person moment. All of this is why next to no-one recognizes Superman as Clark. The failures of the human brain, alongside the contexts of each "person" being totally different.

There are plenty of other reasons why Lana should've known Clark was superman this entire time, but it's not because of his looks - to the normal person superman is unrecognizable

That because Clark never did any superhero work in this show when he was in high school. He left town in high school to train and came back when he was an adult. After he came back he left again to go to metropolis after seeing Lana had moved on. She didn't really have a chance to figure anything out.
