the KUSA mag doesn't have metal in the feed lips unfortunately....why the FFFFFFFFFFF they only went 3/4 of the way to clone the AK103 magazine is beyond me
@@MaverickTangent yeah it just sucks for them getting it so close! i've had to many cracked feed lips from opps i dropped my magpul mags from the lightweight 556...don't even want to waste my money on a 762mag that has plastic holding in the rounds....been waiting for someone to test them but you're the only one that has made a video about the new mags!
@@caseydman4651 I'm sure someone will make a video testing them. There are better ppl than me for those things. But, I would be curious to see how they do in cold drop tests.
I completely agree with you. Also I have found that the plastic mags have a wider bolt channel, reset rounds straighter into a chamber and work better in guns that are out of spec. you should check out PSA’s plastic AK magazines, they have metal lugs, metal reinforced feed lips, a metal cage around the bottom of the magazine and a metal front spine.
Also steel mags tend to get dented on the back corner of the feed lips they can cause feeding issues. Especially with old used surplus mags or doing mag changes over hard ground/concrete
Not to mention dents in the body and rust in between the body and the feed lips causing failures. But the steel mags if taken care of will be around for thousands of years. Lol
@@kevinseaton3510 ak mag collectors in America, the more something has to travel, the most costly it becomes. Bakelite magazines are a good example for it being around 90-120 here
They probably are still making them. Just oos. The bulgarian polymers are nice. I got the steel reinforced polymer in black. I'm not sure what the difference is between the 16.99 and the 14.99. But it's a tight fit in my galil ace, so I'm going to spend this weekend filing down the rear locking lug to match my M3 mags
@@MaverickTangent I ended up buying a bunch of Russian izmash k logo AK-103 mags from Reddit, and bakes, Bulgarian circle 10 mags, Bulgarian steel reinforced commercial mags, and few pufgun mags. I keep my steel surplus Romy mags in a surplus pouch for back up beater mags
