Great recipe. I didn't have hing or amchoor but I did use a little fresh ginger and then popped a few mustard seeds with the cumin seeds. The besan flour, oil spice mixture? Pure genius.
I don't know how come people thumbs down videos even without trying themselves. I tried this recipe and it came up awesome! Thanks for sharing this video. Now I can include Kale - the superfood in my cooking :)
I love kale! I eat it 3-5 times a week haha. I just uploaded my own kale video on how to make TENDER kale! Come check it out, I think you guys would like it :)
Amazing! We have been trying this dish from 5 years now. Bang on. Kale has become our favorite household dish after this recipe. Thank you Hetal and team.
I LOVE every dry veggie made with besan, it actually adds protein to any dish. O always have dry roasted besan at home. When I opena 5 lb bag, I dry roast 3 lb in 1-2 tablespoons of oil to prevent clumping, over low heat till iy=t is fragrant. Once completely cooled I store it & is ready for use. You can also powder roasted chana dal & use instead of besan. That saves the step pf roasting the besan & also, in MY OPINION, tastes better too.
Kale has had a bad reputation for being bitter. I recently tried it and found it was more sweet than bitter. Nicer than cabbage. Thank you for this recipe. Love watching your videos.
After coming to Australia, I got introduced to this vegetable and while looking for recipe ideas your video popped up on my screen. I cooked and it made so awesome that whenever I go for veggie shopping I buy kale surely.
Anuja, r u originally from India? If u r then i want to make a suggestion if you don’t mind, why don’t you explain in Hindi and Hetal can carry on In English, this way you will have advantage of getting more subscribers. Btw, i do like this recipe and i have never used kale in my cooking yet but i want to try by following your way.
Wow, I cook Kale in the same way but without garlic though. I also put methi seeds instead of jeera seeds which gives a really nutty flavour. Really enjoyed the video. I am not a professional chef like you ladies. However, I just enjoy 'fusion' style in my cooking!
+Addy Satija : Indian/Pakistani grocery stores carry it for sure and then even specialty stores like Whole Foods & Trader Joe also carries it. If all else fails, it's available online as well.
We love Kale and eat once a week.It is very good for Diabetic people. It is like Karela. But I love the way you have cook Kale.I will definitely cook the way you shown It looks Yammme. Keep your receipe going on I love to see them.
After coming to Germany from India, I am having a hard time finding green vegetables (i am a vegetarian). There are few veggies like kale, leek, but I didn't know how to cook them. Thanks a lot for this amazing recipe. I'm gonna try it ❤
I really liked it once somebody gave me but didn't know how to make so I made salad but didn't enjoy the salad now I m going to try this we are pure vegetarian so just wanted to know that do you post only vegetarian recipes? Is Kale available in Mumbai. In UAE it is there in big Supermarkets only.
Like Anuja said we use to stare at Kale and just move off in shops by just thinking what to do with this. Now I got the nice recipe from u. Will try for sure.
Yes I just saw you have only Vegetarian recipes for Sushi is there any alternative to make without Sushi sheets (sea weed) N simple Sushi recipe without using that Sushi rice cant we make with mota rice or basmati
This is excellent recipe. My wife makes Sambharo and this recipe looks like is inspired by Sambharo. We tried it. Test was great. I wish we should have chosen little tender ( less matured) bunch of kale. The stems end part was too fibrous. Next time we will discard the end part. Otherwise it came out very tasty.
while I compliment you on your efforts to make this nasty vegetable somewhat edible I have a hard time believing that it tasted all that good because each one of you only took one bite of that cooked kale so I think I'll pass on the kale cooking and I'll take the pill instead ...enjoy
Absolutely brilliant ladies. I love it especially as you use the storks. As you say very fibrous and not nice usually. I am doing this today. And you know that bottom will probably grow more leaves if you sit it in water. Small leaves but ok in a salad
My kids have always loved kale. I usually saute it Indian style with onions and garlic. But tried this new recipe for a change and they loved it. Made it for the second time in two weeks today. Thanks.
Hey girls, thanks for this amazing recipe. it was yummy. actually i thought i had swiched off the gas but it was on its lowest so the sabzi got overcooked But surprisingly it was so good as the besan was crispy. well done girls.
The best channel for Indian recipes! Thank god that I stumbled upon your channel. Thank you so much both of you for your hard work and for sharing these delicious recipes. Lots of love.
you're two sweet ladies and really enjoyed listening to you. I really enjoy the benefits of kale but because I don't have grains in my diet, I'm going to try adding Buckwheat flour instead of white bcs this flour is related to the rhubarb and is plant based. I subscribed; looking forward to more nutritious (and inexpensive) meals. Thank You.
I've used Kale for years and years - love it! And yes - I also use the stalks! But - thank you for this recipe, as there are not many leafy green Indian recipes besides Saag. I did find one using bok choy or mixed greens that was also interesting. Thanks again!
There are tons of leafy green Indian recipes.. Just search for the indian words.. Palak (Spinach), Methi (Fenugreek greens), sarson ki saag (Mustard greens), amaranth greens, Gongura (soursop)
Thing in Punjabi jaoon makki.. it's leaf is kind of similar to corn leaves.. another is called kali bhamol in punjabi sorry I don't know English names.. other I don't remember right now but will ask again form my grandmother are best things to eat.. traditional punjabi and healthy food that will we find only from our older ones ..
I would suggest you make a batch and freeze them ice cubes and then transfer them into ziplocs and freeze. Take a few cubes out at time. The color and the flavor will retain better and longer in the freezer.
Guys i have to thank and applaud u for this recipe, kale has always been a big issue cuz of its texture but this is simply awesome its super delicious and texture is so soft 🙏🙏
