You did well but too thick of a layer of potatoes around the gravy cube so the heat never got to the middle to melt it. Bigger gravy cube, thinner layer of potatoes and deeper oil to submerge the entire ball and leave it in longer to get more brown on the outside and hot on the inside.

Omg when he cut into it and there was no gravy oozing out LOL the face of disappointment 😂
