The Kali Double Stick training is primarily a training method to develop the body. No one thinks you are going to fight with two sticks (I mean, very unlikely but you do you), however the striking does come from actual combat.
We are looking at two basic starting points or positions; "Abierta" and "Cerrada" basically meaning "open" and "closed". These are the foundational weaving or "Siniwalli" patterns we use in our training.
The next level to training these once you've mastered them in the air to have a target to hit, and a partner to match the angles with. The double stick will help with coordinations and body mechanics like no other method!
