I think there's 3 scenarios with the mother in the MV. One is that the mother is a soldier and has to battle for the country, so gives the child to the grandparents. Another is that mother as a soldier found a lost child and re-united the child with family. The third is that the mother is dead, her child was taken to the priest, as a sign that the child has died and had reunited with their mother in the eyes of God. I loved this song at Eurovision and voted for it like 15 times

Yesterday Ukraine has been officially admitted as a candidate to join the European Union, alone with Moldova and Georgia. I'm so happy about that!

50,000 women/mothers are fighting in this horrible war But that want the parents its the grandparents because mom is going back to fight in the war.

Its a great song. It was written well before the war became much more active in February. Oleg, the singer was a bit wayward when he was younger and its actually an apology, a tribute and a celebration to Oleg's mom - and I guess it could be a tribute to all the moms out there trying to keep us on the straight-and-narrow... no matter how old we are. A very celebratory song. However, after the war it became adopted as a song to represent what was going on in Ukraine and the lyrics really do work. The music video was launched after the Eurovision contest so as not to influence the judges or the public. There's some interesting symholic points to pick out with the three women in this video. The first woman is taking a child to reunite with her mom at a refugee centre. One can only imagine the emotion that many moms might have felt in a similar situation. The second is a mom taking her child to her parents before she goes out to fight. Its important to note that large number of women are in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, many on active combat duty and some of them are moms themselves. What hit me hard about this scene was when she was climbing aboard the train, and you get a brief glimpse of her rifle. Oh man 😔. The third woman is interesting. The female soldier is taking a little girl to meet the priest- they are traditionally seen as the guide for the soul to pass over to the after life. In this case, her mom has already died and the priest is reuniting the girl, who has also passed away, in the afterlife. Amazing song, backed up by an amazing video. Glad you enjoyed it. The first 100 days of any war is always the most brutal, and the Russian invasion was no exception. One is saving someone's child, other one is giving her own child to grandparents and goes to war, and another one is taking her daughter to priest in church (meaning the child is diseased) a mother saying her final goodbye to her child. And lastly- little girl is holding molotov cocktail, she's like symbol of Ukraine, a young strong Ukraine that's going to fight till it wins.💙💛

Here is the clarification. This video is a tribute to all women of Ukrainian Armed Forces who fight in war against russian invaders and serve as medics, scouts, snipers etc. This video itself is a story about 3 women and 3 girls. First woman leaves her daughter to the grandparents and leaves to the frontlines (Train station scene) Second woman finds a girl in a destroyed city and brings her back to her mother (Shelter scene) Third woman brings a girl to the church and then that girl disappears which means she died and her soul has gone to heaven. Meanwhile, her mother is walking on the graveyard and it means she died too. The final scene with a little girl holding a Molotov and a burning tanks metaphorically represents Ukraine and russia (which is like 25 larger than Ukraine and way more powerful, but Ukraine fiercely fights back no matter the odds). I've read many comments about this video but no one told the real meaning of the song. 1st lady save someone's child, the second sacrificed her life(having her own child) to save the others. Third lady lost her child in the war and later died herself and could reunite with daughter 😢 and the biggest thing " Everyone think that the song is about his mother, but no, it's about our mother - UKRAINE!!!"

So there are three storylines, and all of them are about a mother. The first storyline is about a mom soldier saving a child and safely returning her to her mom. The second one is the scene at the train station, when the train leaves, the mother giver her daughter to her parents for them to stay in a safe place, while she returns to the battlefield. In the third storyline, with the priest, the mother walks toward him, and her daughter is running to her. It is a metaphor for death: the child was with the priest (was killed) first, and then her mom was killed as well. They were together in another world. Kind of sharp contrast to the overall beat of the music.

The video is about true stories went viral over Ukraine during this war. We have cases when parents brought their kids to grandparents and went to the war both mother and father. Volunteers rescued kids from destroyed or occupied cities and were striving to find parents after. Wife went to the war to revenge for her husband being killed. We had cases when teenagers with molotov cocktail destroyed Russian tank. Old ladies who baked cupcakes for Russian soldiers with poison (8 dead). Ukrainian bees attacked Russians from beehives (40 hospitalized) etc etc
