@@tokyocheapoi visited Kamakura back in 2011 and i missed out on the great Buddha statue somehow. Is it easy enough to navigate back and forth to see everything? I am a bit fuzzy from last time. Don’t recall much of the travel aspect.
We're glad you found the video helpful! The easiest way to get to the Great Buddha is to catch the Enoden Line from Kamakura Station to Hase Station and then walk about 7-10 minutes to the temple.
Last time I went to Japan was in January, 2020. My fiancee planned a trip to Kamakura...but the coronavirus came and destroyed that dream... I hope to go in this winter and see this amazing place, and the giant buddah!!
Your video motivated us to include the day-trip to Kamakura from Tokyo in our upcoming Japan trip in November-2023. Can I use IC Card in Enoden line train? Do I scan it after getting into the train or at the platform gate of the station?
This is perfect! I was thinking of going to Kamakura this weekend, but I don't know if the weather will be nice enough. You've listed lots of great options! (On the other hand, if it's cloudy maybe it won't be as crowded...😉)
Good video but when i check in google shinjuku to kamakura station is showing 5hrs and what you are saying is 1hr so bit confused. I want to go to kamakura tomorrow
You'll want to pack warmer clothes but there's usually a lot of clear weather days in January, great for walking around Kamakura. With the clearer skies, you should also have more luck in seeing Mt. Fuji 😊
Hi there! Apologies for the previous comment. Shōnan-Shinjuku is a train line that runs between Shinjuku Station and Kamakura Station. So hop on this train at Shinjuku Station. Have a lovely trip! 😊
They wouldn't issue me a goshuin because my book wasn't made from "Japanese paper." Despite there already being 6 other hand written goshuins in it 🙄. Pretty sure it was good old fashion discrimination.
