Nikko has some of Japan’s most important (and beautiful!) shrines, temples, hot springs, forest hikes, and local food. No wonder it is one of the best day trips from Tokyo. Just under two hours from Asakusa by train, you're quickly transported into a natural wonderland that feels worlds apart from the neon lights of Tokyo.
