I was suffering from altitude sickness near the summit. I got dizzy, plus I vomited. The oxygen i bought weren't working, both of them. 2-3 steps then break. A meter felt like a thousand kilometers. My chest felt heavy. For me, climbing up was hell, but the descent was way better. I didn't take a single break for that.

Here are some of the major behaviors of foreign tourists climbing Mount Fuji that have been criticized in Japan, explained in detail: ・Disregarding local rules and customs Foreign tourists sometimes do not follow the specific guidelines and rules for climbing Mount Fuji. This includes not staying on designated trails, which can cause environmental damage and increase the risk of accidents. ・Littering and Environmental Impact One of the major problems is littering. Despite efforts to keep the mountain clean, some tourists leave trash behind, which not only detracts from the natural beauty, but also poses a threat to local wildlife and the environmen ・Unpreparedness and safety concerns Many tourists embark on the climb without proper preparation, such as inadequate clothing, lack of proper equipment, or lack of physical fitness. This can lead to dangerous situations that require rescues and strain local resources. ・Disrespect for cultural sites Mount Fuji is considered a sacred site in Japan, and there are specific cultural and religious practices associated with it. Some tourists may be unaware of these customs and inadvertently show disrespect, such as making noise in quiet areas or climbing during off-peak hours. By addressing these issues, it's possible to promote a more respectful and enjoyable experience for everyone involved in climbing Mount Fuji.

Hi! I,ve just bought two tickets following your guide so thank you for helping us! I have a question though; I have bought two seats so, if I link the reservation to my ic card, do I have to scan it twice when passing through the gates? Or tapping it in once is enough for both person? Thank you!

There’s barely anything to do in Kanasawa. Once you’ve seen the historical neighbourhood, then there’s not much else and the city is completely void of people. You’re much better off going to Takayama and do day trips to: Shirakawago and Kamikōchi.

I’m not going to lie. I was at mt Fuji 2 days ago and I can confidently say that mt Fuji is not a hard mountain to climb. Although I can say that if you plan on going take goggles ( I went on a day where there was a storm on the peak which caused winds of over 80kmph , therefore the little sands and rocks get into your eyes ( even if you have glasses ))

When we did the hike, we were at a 7th station hut at 16:00 and it was cold enough to have on a fleece jacket. The summit is another 1,000m above that so it'd likely be good to have an extra layer on top of that as well.

Another reason for not travel to Japan. First price hike for JR Pass then higher prices of dishes in restaurants for tourists and now this.

I agree with the JR Pass price hike, but these rules are to curb overcrowding from tourism… hopefully this will help preserve the mountain’s landscape overall. There are plenty of other reasons to visit Japan tbh. Most people don’t even consider climbing Mt. Fuji

#1 what about the descent via loose small gravel? It's just like SKIING! I descended via this gravel in 1967 when I climbed Fuji-san with an international group from the YouthHostel Rally which was held in Tokyo...it was great fun and only a few of us did that; #2 something horrible I saw at the top is one of the craters was being used as a garbage dump for ALL of the trash from businesses and we climbers!!! I wanted to vomit and couldn't believe that Japan was allowing that to happen!! I hope no one is offended by my saying this! But it was disgusting. GO GO ME! I LOVE Japan!!! Hope to climb again with my son Sage Brooks SOON...I'm 80 years old now! Harry F Brooks IV aka Ogawa-san...Nihon and all my friends from 1967-1969 especially chick-show ojosan from Kisiten Caio in Hachinohe and Shioya-san from Sendai+++
