*Engine sounds *Get my credit card out and place it near my face Me: “Henshin!” Cashier: “Wha- “ *throws credit card at the card reader *slaps sides of the reader with both hands Me: “KAMEN RIDE: DEDEDEDECADE!” * SHOUTS OUT DECADE’S THEME *DEEHNEHNEH DEDEEH DEEHNEHNEH DEHDEHNEHDEH* Cashier: “WTF” Random homeless dude outside: “CURSE YOU DECADE! JUST WHAT ARE YOU?!” Me: “I’m just a kamen rider passing by.”
What i really love about Decade's Henshin is the fact that his Decade holograms not only are referencing the different Rider Powers, but that they are also referencing the rider worlds positioned in a circle coming together for the destruction (Decade was the reason why the rider World melted together and obliterated themselves).
The "massive incoherent mess" from W's henshin looks more like datas (in a way fitting since we know what Gaia Memories resemble) manifesting into the Two-in-one Detective in my opinion. It's especially more obvious when looking at Xtreme CycloneJoker W where you could cleary make out some digits flowing around W during the first Xtreme Henshin
the fact that Kabuto, who came literal YEARS before the top 2 of this top 20, is #3 just goes to show that no matter how much special effects KR Henshins have in the near future, Kabuto Riders shedding their "skins" will ALWAYS be badass and unique
I bet that if Hasbro does has the idea to adapt Kamen Rider, it'll be Ex-Aid. Two Reasons. 1.) Stock Footage Transformations 2.) What kind of kid doesn't like Video Games?
I think they should just dub it, they made an English dub of Kabuto for the Philippines for Cartoon Network, but it never found it's way to the US... legally
I'd still prefer dub or sub as the original versions tend to be better than the American adaptations, besides the US has failed at adapting Kamen Rider twice
@@kamenraider1175 damn dude same. I remembered watching kabuto in CN long time ago. Also remember hero TV? They also have tagalog dub version of blade and faiz iirc
A note on Wizards magic circles, he actually points in the direction in which the magic circle appears. In the cases where he doesn't then its summoned by a motion of sorts, like Hurricane above him because he jumped or Land below because he lowered his arms in a defensive pose.
I love the way that in Zi-O's henshin you can see that each time the watch straps of the henshin go around the riders more of the armor's sillhouete appears until the armor itself forms.
After watching Agito I like the scenes in the first couple of episodes where he transforms very slowly at night time with only the light from his belt illuminating the fighting. Those were cool as hell. It's kind of selling OOO short also to not mention how much swag the voice announcing his henshin has.
It's weird that for Agito he said that it's just a flash of light and then he transforms, when it was the first Heisei henshin with any form of interacting with the belt, even if it's very rudimentary (he poses around slowly and deliberately, says henshin, and then presses the buttons on the side of his belt). It really sells Agito short, when there's so many worse henshin sequences in heisei, like Build which is just such a long and awkward mess to watch. And yeah, also agree with OOO, you can't just not mention the announcer for his henshin. It also ranks really high up for me personally because of how smooth the motions are for interacting with the belt. OOO doesn't pose unnecessarily (like Build lol), all the poses come from the way he interacts with the belt for the henshin. He straps the belt on, inserts the coins into the belt, he grabs the scanner with the right hand while tilting the belt diagonally with the left, then he scans the coins, and as a followthrough he momentarily holds the scanner in front of his chest. The motions flow into each other so fluidly and naturally results in a couple of poses that stick out as a henshin pose, it's so good that I find it criminal how the video boils the OOO henshin down to being a mess just because of the effects with the coins spinning around him.
@@youmgsandwiche to add on, I feel that he underrated Blade’s transformation process. Not only does the attaching of the belt fit the card-theme of the season, but it is also aesthetically pleasing to look at, seeing all the cards attach to become a belt. It’s something extremely unique, and offers an exquisiteness uncommon to newer Heisei riders (except Ex-Aid);
I grew up with the Showa Kamen Riders and my all time favorite has to be Black RX. I'm a sucker for the low tech firework effects and the move he does as he shouts "henshin" is just so badass. lol
I agree with most of your rankings. But for me, Blade should be a bit higher. Also Ex-Aid and Zi-O should be lower. Ex-Aid's transformations are cool but the spinning select screen was not explored too much. Like, what if, they can select various armors from there? Or what would happen if they selected the wrong item? Zi-O's transformations are also cool, especially with the spinning of the belt, but there's nothing really special in them IMO. Kuuga's "piece-by-piece" transformation would actually make it higher if he does it all the time. With W's, I think the "CG trash nonsense" that converges into him to form the armor are data, since one of the themes of the series is "information" from Gaia Library, and those data are stored in the gaia memories. Also the way they converge into him is based on wind, since it's also once of the series' themes. For me, I think Build, Kabuto, and Gaim's transformations are the best. I don't care which comes first. Those three are the absolute best.
I think the best thing about Ohma Zi-o's henshin, was that the entire sequence lets you know, schwartz and his goon squad are about to get a grade a curb stomping, and they can't do shit about it.
You're forgetting the 2 most important aspects of Kamen Rider henshins: Hand-waving and belt interaction. Showa riders have the caveat of having very little belt interaction so their hand-waving becomes their only defining aspect of the henshin. It wasn't until Kuuga where the rider interacts with the belt to initiate the henshin. Problem is, this makes hand-waving of any kind just weird and unnecessary. Drive's shift car and Ex-Aid's gashat flipping nonsense are especially bad. Hand-waving for the sake of hand-waving. The best henshins are the ones that balance hand-waving with belt interaction. Top 3 3. Faiz 2. Geiz 1. Blade
@@akiMKH The way Geiz swings his arms in a circle makes sense to get his hands in position to spin the Ziku Driver. Also very reminiscent of Skyrider's and Super-1's henshins which had martial arts influences.
For me, Kabuto is still the best transformation. Very simple & modern design looks. The device it representing each symbol of insects. The core through a principle & motive, if you've failed to hold that oath. The insects will abandon you entirely for another worthy user.
Amazon's henshin is interesting because of the heat leaving their bodies to become a cold blooded beast and they take the heat from their surroundings when they de-henshin.
Kamen Rider Kabuto is the best of the best, the characters and storyline are perfect. Tendo is completely op, he masters cooking, combating, almost any kind of sports, piano and knows four kinds of language. Not to mention that he has genius level intellect and peak human condition, even can dodge bullets. Kabuto hyper form can hyper clock up which is faster than speed of light due to its time travel properties and his combatant skills is unrivalled. He is the BEST Kamen Rider ever!!!!!
While I agree that most of Kuuga CGI henshin dated pretty badly, his final form Ultimate Kuuga henshin definitely out performed the rest for me. Even now Ultimate Kuuga is my no 1 favorite form. Mainly because i think it made him look like he’s the villain in the series.
I have not watched all of the seasons yet, but from this video I would say number 7 is the best. Seems like it has the most unique cool transformations for everyone. Although my favorite is still Kabuto's henshins. Its the only one where they have the armored version that is made with focus in defense, but then they can Cast Off and get the real powered form focused in speed! Its like releasing their limiters, which I always love to see!
Zi-o no.1? 🙂Pfft! That's cute..😏 (insert anime smug face) You know what could've made Zi-o's henshin a lot better? The hand clock of Zi-o spins much like the the show's title after the eyes slapped on the helmet😏 Now that would be a lot cooler...
The coolest thing about Zi-O in my opinion are the eyes, each seperated part of the symbol combine to the shape of the eye, and it is sick! Also, isn't it pronounced ZEE OH and not GEE OH
I agree! Also, there is no “zee” sound in Japanese so the “Zi” spelling is supposed to be pronounced “Ji.” You can pronounce it how you like but Ji-o isn’t wrong
I also love how Zi-o rider armor mimic Old rider pose - Uchu kita pose - Build pose - Faiz armor do the hand waving of takumi - Ex-aid pose So sad that they dont make complete 20 armor on screen :(
I find it Ironic that Kabuto and Ex-Aid are near each other considering both start at Bulky Forms and then their sleeker armor comes out by removing the bulky armor and their belts even have an opening and close mechanism.
Den-O was my first Rider series, so it’ll always rank high on my list because you never forget your first. Loved the train track motif with it too. I always thought with W that the junk that flew around was because they were in Futo, the Windy City, so it was stuff blowing in the wind or something.
It’s worrying to me how many people have said wizard is hard to watch as it’s where I plan to start, the suits and transformation sequence are really cool imo and I love the simplicity of the belt and rings
why does zero-one still feel like rider from heisei phase 2 despite being first reiwa rider? -his belt still has voice -he still has many form -he still use collectible device to henshin i wish reiwa rider was different to heisei rider
while your observations are all valid, they brought the simplicity in suit design back to its roots. so in all honesty I find zero-one somewhat a combination of early heisei phase 1 with mid-end heisei phase 2, which is something I never knew I needed and would love
14:38. About Ex-Aid. When they transform, you can see all the main riders + two blanks. One of them later becomes Mighty Brothers, but in all the episodes I´ve seen the last blank is never revealed. Who does it belong too??
I just want to praise people behind W and kabuto henshin effect! Those are the hardest to pull, Compare to what we got now a days are just some CG noise
It's 2022, I stumbled on this video again. You reminded me how I always had goosebumps when I watch the Ohma ZI-O henshin. Zero-two Henshin was good, The Xross Saber was kinda meh for me just disappointing in my pov and the Ultimate Revi and Vice decent enough to give me a slight of "Woah". But All of the Henshin I've watched nothing gives me goosebumps other than Ohma Zi-O
God, I love Ohma Zi-O's henshin and form so much. I really wish Zi-O Ohma looks more like that than the form we got. It wasn't bad, it's still pleasing to look at, but compared to Ohma it doesn't really have that look of a true king that Ohma Zi-O had. Also, watching the henshin sequel again, I just noticed the lava is actually sucked up into the spinning rings as well.
You forgot to mention cronus' henshin, it's just take ex-aid henshin to another level Unlike other riders that must attach their gashats to their driver, he just simply activated it and it attached itself to the driver while he just standing there menacingly Not to mention his final form when there is gamedeus silhouette around him during the transformation sequence
I really like the Henshin of Kamen rider wizard all forms and kamen rider zio Henshin, from first forms until the Trinity Form, ohma zio and lastly the grand zio form
It's kinda unfair for Ryuki when you showed the footages of cheaper henshin effect in Rider Time than the actual show that suit actors' crop of effect were matching actors' poses.
Good list the zi-o henshin is cool af also wizards henshin is cool and simple but i gotta say i like beasts henshin in that same season more just cus of how theatric it is
The colorful eye pieces for the KR Geo's actually say "Rider" in Japanese katakana lettering! I enjoyed your video cos I was a Showa KR fan and didn't know much about the Heisei riders. I noticed some of them do their henshin without the standard belt or kata to activate the transformation. Do they still all ride motorcycles or fancy vehicles?
Here’s my list (I guess) ( I know I’m late, but whatever) Warning: The following comment is merely opinion based. If you agree or disagree with what I have to say, that’s perfectly fine. Just don’t riot over something that isn’t even fact. 20. Agito 19. Kuuga 18. Ryuki 17. Ghost 16. Faiz 15. Kiva 14. Blade 13. Wizard 12. Fourze 11. Ex-Aid 10. Decade 9. Gaim 8. OOO 7. W 6. Drive 5. Build 4. Hibiki 3. Zi-O 2. Kabuto 1. Den-O
Welp, I thought its focusing on their henshin pose/movements, but unfortunately its all about the sequence of the armor attaching. If it was about the henshin pose, Kabuto & Ryuki for sure are my least favorites. Too easy & simple.
Probably cheating but my favorite henshin sequence is definitely Dragon knight. The decks spinning inside the belts, plus the vortex that forms around the rider's as they transform looks super cool
Honestly, this list pretty much mirrors my own. Zi-O might have disappointed me in the end, but the actual henshins were top notch. ESPECIALLY Grand and Oma.
I'm pretty sure the circle around Forze is the nozzle of a rocket. If you've ever seen one (and I have. There are a couple as museum pieces) it looked is lot like this.
I think it's not correct to compare the henshin sequences we see nowadaya and the 2000's scenes. CGI made great improvments over the years, it's normal today you are able to create a more spectacular henshin sequence.
Both Shin Kamen Riders have amazing transfomations, they are so different (one organic and slow and one mechanical and fast paced ) yet both equally amazing
Apparently the Fourze Driver also functions as a transportation device. It has never been stated anywhere on how exactly that is the case, but it has been implied to be a personal teleport (as opposed to basically just using the Rocket Module) twice. First with how the initial intention was it was supposed to allow the wearer to go meet an alien race. Second when Gentarou pulls out his Driver when asked how he planned to get away from possibly being trapped and dying when discussing a plan in a Rider movie. Anyone know of a source that can confirm this?
In all honesty my number one is Zero one i always loved the robotic insects just melting into code to form the suit and the transformations to the alternate forms are amazing
The 70 dislike probably the hyper fanboy My fav henshin is ex aid henshin like holy moly the "GASHATO!!!" Sound Is hype and excited no wonder why the op music means Excite! For build i love it but my fav is black hole evol and hazard. Oh faiz and zio too! The fun you put decade on top 10 bcuz his also the 10th rider😂 My fav henshin is zio, decade,ex aid,Kabuto, kuuga, faiz, build and w
My favorite henshin sequences: Heisei: Kuuga, Agito, Kaixa, Kabuto, and Double. Showa: Ichigo, Nigo, V3, Black, and Black RX (Black and Black RX are my all time favorite cause I grew up watching them).
I'm gonna be honest, I'd love to find out where I can watch the Heisei Kamen Rider stuff, because I got introduced to Wizard a while back, never got to finish the series and just absolutely loved what I had seen.
My interest in kamen rider mostly from their storyline not to forget their henshin sequences, costume theme, creativity & precision of their job, in my opinion, kamen rider blade, 555, W, fourze & kabuto really meet all of my requirements😊, simply stunning costume design, match with user, without ridiculous useless part & messy attachments on their body🤣
Some henshins may be the same as the primary's like ryuki henshin with his other riders and ex-aid his riders but some henshins are different with his other riders so you probably could rank every henshin
I like your rankings especially with Zi-O on top but note dude that Not because you came after the power rangers that you are the rip-off, kamen rider had deep roots and enhancements with metal hero. Sentai/power rangers never had the complicated and intricate designs of KR.
