What I wouldn't give for an MTG anime with this quality

Man, I'd watch the shit out of this if were a full show.

I didn't realize I needed Anime the Gathering. Seeing Tezzeret kicking ass was especially a treat. Only downside is that we likely won't get another snippet like this. Image the Brothers War like this!

0:00-0:10 young Kaito watches the emperor of Kamigawa also his childhood friend as her Planeswalker spark ignite 0:14-0:18 a view of modern Kamigawa 0:19-0:20 a view of the reality chip a jellyfish artifact with the power to manipulate souls 0:21-0:24 Kaito and Tamiyo in the lab of Tameshi behind them are Kami who were experemnted on 0:25-0:29 Tezzeret and Jin-gitaxias preparing to face the intruders 0:30-0:32 Young Kaito and the emperor just hanging out 0:33 a glimpse of the wanderer 0:34-0:36 Kaito running to confront Jin-gitaxias 0:37-0:42 more views over Kamigawa 0:43-0:52 Kaito meet with his sister who give him information that a man matching Tezzeret's description wss seen working with his friend Tameshi 0:53-1:01 Young Kaito and emperor hanging out some more 1:02-1:05 Kaito running on roofs probably on his way to Tameshi's lab 1:06-1:08 glimpses of Tameshi's lab 1:09-1:10 young Kaito and the emperor talking about their feelings of something 1:11-1:17 a view blocked by the reality chip gets cleared to reveal The sakura gardens the place were Kaito and the emperor used to see each other as kids 1:18-1:23 Young Kaito and emperor hanging out even more 1:24-1:32 Kaito in Tameshi's lab he noticed Tezzeret and Jin-gitaxias recognizing Tezzeret 1:33-1:49 the reality chip is turning into a flashback of young Kaito and the emperor watching fireworks 1:50-1:55 there is an intruder in Eiganjo young Kaito concerned for his friend the emperor going to search for her in the throne room 1:56-2:01 in the throne roon Kaito see kyodai the soul of kamigawa the emperor and Tezzeret(right corner) Tezzeret just attempted to use the reality chip on kyodai but because of the link between Kyodai and the emperor the results ignites her spark and damaging it in the process making it unstable 2:02-2:06 Kaito's and the emperor last site on each other for a long time 2:07-2:09 fast forward 2:10-2:14 Kaito and Jin-gitaxias fighting each other 2:15-2:17 Tamiyo using the reality chip and her scrolls magic in attempt to summon the emperor and stabilizing her damaged spark 2:18-2:28 Tezzeret notice whats Tamiyo is doing and while the emperor is starting to materializing between Kaito and Jin-gitaxias he's using the Planar Portal in his chest to summon a bomb 2:29-2:44 as the smoke clears Kaito is down and gets attacked by Jin-gitaxias the emperor now known as the wanderer saving him and fateally wounding Jin-gitaxias in the process (don't worry he survive) 2:45-2:51 The reality chip that is sperating between Kaito and the Wanderer is now closing it's tentacles allowing them to meet once more 2:52-3:01 Kaito and the wanderer are reuniting 3:02-3:12 the wanderer is forced to planeswalke away saying goodbye to Kaito 3:16-3:21 a flashback of young Kaito running after the emperor 3:22-3:28 Kaito is now alone in what looks like the ruins of Tameshi's lab

Wow Wizards is really killing it with this set. Absolutely beautiful all round.

This literally made me like saito and the wanderer 10 times more.

Koshi (B'z) is one of the best HR singer in the world. He collaborated with SLASH(GUN'S), Aerosmith, Steve Vai. Furthermore, it is the vocal of the band that sold the most CDs in Japan. legend.

Everyone’s going ham for TK singing this (I love the guy too!) but the REAL surprise is Koshi Inaba…the dude is a living legend. If you haven’t heard of him yet he sings for B’z, Japan’s top selling band of all time. It’s such an interesting combination to put an old school rock/pop singer like Koshi with a modern/progressive artist like TK, such an impressive result!

Imagine an actual mtg anime of this quality. Would be hella sick

2:50 this. Oh my God this. The embrace and the moment that The Wanderer breaks from just pure joy from seeing Kaito only to then Planeswalk away because of that... Its just beautiful. I love everything this wants and chooses to be, and I can't wait to see the day that this game gets a show.

I started playing magic when I was 8 years old my first set was Kamigawa. I was very sad when time and time again we were told that Kamigawa wasn't a commercial success and therefore would not be revisited. So happy they gave this plane another chance, loving how they refreshed the plane aesthetically while still retaining the planes unique identity as a place of Asian inspired mysticism.

This is why Wizards should just focus on making an anime, instead of a live action. You can do so much more in anime then you could ever hope to accomplish in live action. Plus, with all the indepth history of magic the gathering, it is much easier to tell a story in anime! Wonderful video and great choice in song!

2:10 when Kaito fights Gitaxias is just... wow. Wow wow wow. And Tamiyo's spellcasting looks so beautiful!

This set is the most hyped I've seen the magic community since we went to theros for the first time. I've seen nothing but positive feedback from all the content creators. I heard someone say something the other day. "Magic is magic again."

I've wanted a return to Kamigawa for so long that I was convinced any actual set would be a disappointment, unable to live up to the hype in my head, and here it is and it's better than I could have dreamed. Thanks WotC. This one is really special.

This is EPIC! The animation, the music, everything! Please make an animated series about this like the one they did in Arcane: League of Legends!

This is easily the best MTG trailer so far, even though they've been getting better and better lately. The animation is absolutely insane but the music is even better. That's a very beautiful song with incredible production and mixing and the vocals! The whole thing is just an absolute treat for the senses. Mwaah!

Ok, Kaito was initially my new favorite planeswalker just cause he’s a badass cyber ninja with a cool robot friend. Now I’m just way too invested in this wholesome ass friendship between him and Wanderer, and I just want them to be happy. How dare you make a card game mess with my emotions like this, Wizards. ….thank you.

This is some good stuff. Inaba's powerful rock vocals and TK's hushy whispery falsetto provides a stark contrast and a beautiful combination. They're 20 years apart in age and hearing 2 generations of musicians collabing is always a pleasure

Seeing Tezzeret with the Phyrexians playing a bigger role as a villain with Nico Bolas gone now is exactly what I wanted to see!! Awesome

This has got to be my favorite MTG trailer. When I was a kid, I would never have imagined my fave card game and animation genre fusing together in the future, but then here we are.

It's the same people that did the Tokyo Ghoul opening. This is *so cool!*

It's been a while since I've seen MTG animated this way. And two of some of the biggest Japanese artists are performing this song. 🔥 Probably one of my favorite sets so far in MTG history.

I think this is probably the strongest piece of advertising for Magic that we had the pleasure of receiving. It's so damn good on its own.

I want MtG Seasons, an animated franchise along the same vein as Arcane: League of Legends

TK’s vocals literally never change and I love it since I can call it all the time.

I can't believe they got TK and WIT for this! I've seen so many great artists and creators endorsed to make things for this set, and it's turned into something indescribably beautiful. Thank you, Wizards, and everyone else that has come together to form this community! (Also, what would it take to get an entire MTG series from WIT Studios? Like, seriously. I'll pay out of pocket if I have to.)

Kamigawa is a Japanese themed plane and nothing screams Japanese than anime. Which is a globally recognized art form. The guy or gal that thought about presenting this trailer in anime form deserves a raise.

Legends of Kamigawa was the first set of Magic I ever played... returning this year to MtG to see Neon Dynasty and how amazing it's been makes me feel like a hopeful kid again.

Wow, this is absolutely the most amazing piece of promotional material Wizards have ever made. Not just anime inspired, but this is full on, high quality anime. Jin Gitaxian or any Phyrexian for that matter, has never looked so good!

Phyrexians in animated form. This brings me so much joy. And the quality of the video is outstanding. I'd really like to see an OVA or mini series covering the Neon Dynasty lore in this style.

I you had told me ten years ago that Jin and Tezz were going to be anime villians then I wouldn't have believed you, but here we are. Trailer's looking really slick, hopefully the set does really well.

When I start an Arena, the emperor appears on the loading screen. Every time I do, I remember this and it makes me sad. That's how much this trailer has touched my heart.

Wow, I wasn’t expecting TK in this one. Loved it.

I just realised that wandering emperor is an isekai MC that just gets send randomly to other worlds all the time because of her spark. It all makes sense.

I think that one of the things that make this so awesome is that it directly target the existing fan base no exposition dump or voice narrator it's simply showing us exactly what we want to see and by doing so it also make the casual or non fans of the game to want to know more about magic

Kamigawa, though an underpowered block, was always my favourite block and plane, and came at the height of my childhood love of Magic. As a 30 year old who recently got really back into the game, this brings a tear to my eye. I wish they could treat the whole of Magic lore with this care and respect and build it further!

You know what would have made this ten times better? If there was a scene at the end of the trailer with a glimpse of compleated Tamiyo.

They should continue this storyline for several sets. And bring back the anime and musicians.
