The lesson here is to pay attention to the car in front of you that is signalling and use the damn brakes instead of swerving out like that! 😂 He really wasn't paying attention or his brakes don't work.
As a fellow cyclist, kailangan talaga yung awareness sa paligid. Always know how to read the situations in your surrounding, be cautious. Lookout of those brake, signal lights, or any sign that may change the condition of your route. Pangalawa, know the proper speed ng takbo mo depende pa rin sa condition ng paligid, pag ganitong nasa traffic ka, make sure na yung takbo mo dapat yung kaya mong i-control in case something like this happens, tulad nyan di sya nakapreno kaagad tapos the biker chose to overtake na lang without realizing that there are vehicles approaching from behind, buti pa yung taxi naging alisto at nakapreno pa ng husto dahil din sa banayad lang ang takbuhan nya due to this traffic condition... Yup! We share the road, but we must do our responsibility given on what we're riding... Ride safe everyone! 😉
Reminder to everyone to make sure that your bike is in good working condition. Regardless of whether you're poor or rich. Always allot time and/or money for maintenance to prevent accidents like this. Don't let your minds wander off too much as well, especially in busy roads.
This is why whatever you use on the road, you have to know the indicators of every vehicle you're riding with. Thank God for that taxi driver for having incredible time reaction.
As a cyclist.. he should have noticed that this innova was already using his turn indicators to show his intention of turning right. Whenever I ride my bike I always take note of areas where a car is more likely to enter and exit, for example a grocery store or in this case, a gas station. So when approaching these areas I look out for cars looking to turn into them, or exit them, and am ready to apply the brakes if needed. This guy clearly was not paying attention to turn indicators, the area he was in, or even being mindful to brake and he paid the price for it, nearly got runover. Cyclist is 100% at fault here.
No the inova was to far from the side, and the cyclist was focused at his front the the inova quickly turned and spooked the cyclist. Also maybe the cyclist doesn't know that much the blinking lights of the cars
@@vivivi.. as a user of a public road, you must know the rules and the environment you are in. How the other users do their thing and how you can keep yourself safe. The video showed that they are only moving at a slow pace, meaning, that the bicycle has ample of time to react dun sa paggilid ng innova. Both parties are wrong, pero maiiwasan din to kung hindi lang sa harap ang tingin ng naka bike (sa gilid din at sa mga kasamang sasakyan) at kung hindi muna lumiko yung innova.
As a professional cyclist i have seen alot of bad drivers particularly almost killing me at some point but this time it was not the cars fault The biker wasnt wearing a helmet he wasnt aware of the light indicators and he was probably dreaming while riding
@@mikey2938 no stock brakes are that bad. Guy most likely has no clue how to maintain his bike and probably even oiled his brakes to 'make them smoother'
Be comfortable with the road, but not comfortable enough to the point wala na kayong pakialam sa paligid niyo.
Hehe.
I've found you have make room for driver error, there's a road I have to cross next to an island, but sometimes the drivers exit the island from the wrong lane so you have to get out of the way quick since you didn't expect them to exit.
Without a doubt I’m an excellent super professional expert cyclist for more than 20 years experience biking. If we go by the book, I can say here it’s very clear that this is pure cyclist error which can and should be charged to experience. It takes a very special skill, talent and bravery to ride a bicycle in various traffic situations.
If you ever wanna cross a busy street .....just get off the bike and cross it in foot and ride again. Someone who already cycles for commute should already know that your not going to reach places fast with 2 feet and 2 pedals ,so there is no rush anyways. Get off and cross it on foot if you're unsure.
Bababa ako ng bike at tatawid sa pedestrian lane. its much safer kesa ma aksidente.
Rule number 1 sa road safety. Always practice distancing. Papunta sya gas station. Pero absent minded yun siklista 3. Imbes magpreno ka at antayin maclear daraanan, pinili nyang gumitna pa sa lane at nawalan na sya kontrol.
@@emmanuelsuba4856 Actually mas mabilis ka, mas konti yun reaction time mo. For that reason dapat pag mas mabilis ka tumakbo, dapat mas malayo ka sa sinusundan mo.

To those who said he was a kid, he wasn't. Some of us Filipinos are small. I'm also not gifted with a height, so sometimes when they saw my back they thought I was teenager too. Regardless of his age, he should be aware of his surroundings and must have basic protection like helmet or knee and arm pads.
@@kurtdehut2380 No, he's not. If you go to our country, you will see a bunch of us with that kind of build and height. Stop being pretentious that you know everything when you're not.
Baguhan lang to.
As a cyclist and a fixie rider san maging lesson to laging maging aware sa paligid at make sure na all good ang bike mo kapag mag gagala o mag commute ka check the brakes and tires 👍
As a cyclist commuter, usually nag babagal na ako pag may napansin akong sasakyan papalapit sa gutter nagbliblinker man o hindi.

As a 15 year old student and biker, Dapat talaga may awareness tayo sa daan, nakafocus kasi yung mata sa diretso lang eh di manlang tumingin kaliwa man o kanan ayan tuloy bangga.

You can see the last biker pointing at the red car when it's not even their fault lol, it was the first biker's fault for not using their brakes, it's there with the handle for a reason
I think he pointed the red because maybe hes saying that the driver didnt stop even after the accident. A driver must always stop if he is involved in some accident in the road even in small accidents like this. Even it's not the driver's fault he should stop and check the guy if he's okay.
If you look closely you can see that he pumps his brakes two times and they hardly slow down, then he panics because his brakes have failed and then swerves.
i know it's a 2year old video but since nobody has seemed to notice; look closely at his left hand brake, it looks like he squeezed it all the way twice and slowed down both times but it wasn't enough to stop him in time for the car. this is more a case of brake failure / not well maintained bike. once he couldn't stop he probably panicked and dangerously swerved into oncoming traffic

I know the driver isn't at fault, but when I ride I always assume everyone on the road is a pinecone. Especially in the Philippines I just assume the drivers bought their license and thought they own the road. In this case, the driver actually used his signal more than 10 meters before making a turn. It's different from the law that says you have to signal 100m before your turn, but the cyclist should've seen the signal because It's done early enough to make others aware of the driver's intentions. And even if he didn't notice the signal, the fact that a car is merging onto his lane should've made him brake.

1 - The car was slow 2 - The car movement showed that he wanted to change lanes (since the start of the video he was almost between 2 lanes) 3 - The car gave the signal 4 - The kid was probably dreaming while riding, absolutely no awareness of his surroundings 5 - Did he brake? Did the brake fail? Can't quite conclude what happened, anyways, his brake/braking was slow as heck. 6 - Driver is 100% right. No stupid driving, giving signal, slow lane change, etc.

The cyclist simply dont know how the road rules work. His mindset is that the road is like a huge obstacle course that you can just get thru or squeeze in and pass thru in between vehicles as long as he feels he can get thru them. Sorry but what if taxi driver is going in a much faster speed. No helmet safety gear can save him. Thats why bikers need to be subjected to the same insurace and also the same theory and actual practical exams as the motor vehicle. Its as simple as dicpline. The biker does not seem to care about the traffic. Good thing he is lucky that the taxi stop in a dime. He should just wait for the Inova and not overtake.

I'm sure naalala niya lahat ng importante sa bahay niya in those few seconds na muntikan na siya, and mag-iingat na yan kinabukasan. Sana rin magsuot na siya ng helmet all the time, kahit malapit lang ang pupuntahan. I cannot count any more na how many times I've been a witness that a helmet has saved a cyclist's/rider's life.

In many countries the traffic laws now acknowledge that pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists are "vulnerable" road users and as such heavier vehicles have to give them consideration. The red car knew he was going to make the maneuver but still pulled across the cyclists path. At the very least, if he had been more aware, the cyclist would be inconvenienced by having to brake. The car driver would be considered at fault in European countries. Very poor driving by the car driver, they should have hung back behind the cyclist when approaching the petrol station. Putting on the indicator is no excuse, the car should have dropped in behind the cyclist so as not to impede him.
I agree. The car should've fully changed lanes first before turning to the gas station. It's much more safer that way than abruptly changing lanes leading to a potential accident.
The thing is, even if he didn't clip the car he would have gone into the other lane and could have got hit cause he didn't know what was happening in that lane. He was going slow enough to just stop, he was extremely lucky, if that driver was half a second earlier he would have been hit.
As a cyclist myself, I think it was the cyclist mistake, he didn't look on his left side before turned left. The car made a turn signal(to the right), the cyclist should've noticed that. But thank God he's okay, that's valuable lesson though.
Ofc it is. He isn't wearing a helmet either.. I get it, they are kids, I didn't use them back them either... But now I understand bikes are dangerous, you need to be prepared to ride the streets
Kala cguro nya tatagos sya dun sa toyota. Kung mabilis un taxi goobye earth sya.
I think his break is not working, which is a really big problem in the first place. At that speed, isn't it much easier to squeeze the break than to make a left turn? I would rather be called a dumbass on awareness but not on the functionality of the bike itself.

At first I thought red was in fault. But after replaying the vid I can tell the cyclist is inexperienced. - No Helmet. You don't have to expend a lot. Any helmet is better than nothing, but reliable brands are a better choice - He didn't look back when turning. If you don't have mirrors (idk their name in English) you have always to look back, even when doing fast reactive maneuvers. Someone can be trying to pass by your side. - He didn't sign with his hand where whe was (suddenly) gonna move. You should always do that. He could had either turn right, or hit the car but NEVER run into another line without watching back. Even you're not ready for the streets, don't drive there. It's dangerous. Now a tip from a "self-called" experienced cyclist: always drive in the middle of your line or 3/4 to your left (in right ways con tries, yk what I mean). That makes people think twice before trying to overpass you bcs they would most probably hit you, most cases they don't want to, so they use other lines (most the times I have a full line for me). When they pass close to you it's not bcs they wanna scare you or hit you but because they think they can (they are faster and there's is space). Ofc that's selfish bcs they don't think you could overreact or evade some street hole or whatever. Trust me, this works. Also, prioritize bike roads
If even for a second you thought red was at fault i hope you never drive. Your judgement and knowledge of the road is poor and in moments when critical thinking is needed to protect everyone on the road you're going to fuck it up
If you're on the road you should Know all the traffic rules and regulations. Sinal light means the car is turning right ▶️ Lucky for the kid his life was saved.
Newbie, awareness and caution is always important.
