What he means about the natural vs synthetic part, is that synthetics have a harsh texture on the nose, while naturals do not, and they are calm without crazy projection and sillage.. Real sandalwood is incredibly calm, has evolution, caramel toasty creamy vanilla woody scent that makes you sleepy and relaxed. Synthetics do not change, typically smell very much like milk, are overly powerful and sweet, smell slightly greasy and may have nuances of rose or coconut.. and you can feel that they are "harsh" or screechy when you smell them.
You should try the Tonga sandalwood oil I think is even creamier. Their attars are priced so affordably and the smell is crazily good. Can’t wait for more.
I would never consider mysore sandalwood creamy. It’s either potent gritty and long lasting or it isn’t. Amber colored sandalwood oil is thick, extremely intense and bitter and it’ll stimulate your senses. The nostrils and eyes definitely become very engaged
