A friend of mine was their tour manager, for many years. Back in the 90’s, he invited me and a couple of our other friends to one of the band’s concerts. We were given full access, and had the joy of actually meeting and talking with the band. Believe me when I tell you that they were the most genuine, humble, and kind people you could ever hope to meet. Being a fan, since I was a boy, in the 70’s, and then meeting them, only to realize what truly great guys they were, really reinforced my love for this legendary band.

I'm a big Supernatural fan. I have to use a can to walk, I made it myself. It has Castiel wings, a Devils Trap, and a Demon Lock inlaided into the cane. Sup fans always notice it.

This song never gets old. It's truly one of the best rock songs ever written. Kerry Livgren was an amazing songwriter and Steve Walsh was one of the best singers in the 70's and 80's.

They were a semi-prog rock band. And, the drummer was one of the most "relaxed" rock drummers of all time. Very funky dude.

I saw them as a contemporary of Boston...vocals and musicianship were very similar to me , music that will be revered for ages

Kansas was THE American prog band. They took British musical complexity and combined it with good old rock and boogie. Totally unique, IMO.

There are very few perfect songs but this is one of them. Everything about it is a journey, mirroring his own personal quest. A true gem in music.

Hardcore Kansas fan here. They're my all-time favorite band, and Carry On is my all-time favorite rock song. Most people know Dust in the Wind, and a few others know Point of Know Return. But they have a lot of songs, and most of them are worth checking out, not just the ones people know. Kerry Livgren wrote the song (Steve Walsh was the singer/keyboardist), and he was definitely on a spiritual search. Many of their songs from their first few albums had songs about searching. Livgren eventually became a Christian, so he found the answers he was searching for. But a little more background info about this song, it's actually sort of a part 3 of a trilogy of songs. If you listen to their previous album, Masque, the last two songs on that album are Mysteries and Mayhem, and The Pinnacle. The end of Mysteries and Mayhem fades out, and then The Pinnacle starts with the same riff that Mysteries and Mayhem faded out on (though a little slower). And then the last verse of The Pinnacle contains the lyrics "I stood where no man goes/Above the din I rose". Then Carry On's first verse begins, "Once I rose above the noise and confusion", and of course, the word "din" means "a loud, confused noise". So Carry On sort of picks up where The Pinnacle left off.

This was the opening song to the show Supernatural, that show gave a whole new generation a taste of some good music.

People think Supernatural but I remember an obscure movie, Heroes ( with Henry Winkler aka The Fonz) and this played at the end!

Epic! Saw them at the Canada Jam at Mosport 1978. Nightfall came and this multi-talented band played "Dust In The Wind" to a sea of lighters. Lead singer looking cool in his shorts, t-shirt and long hair. Still touring and saw them in Toronto the summer of 2018.

I heard the song few weeks back while watching Supernatural and I was stunned by the song so searched on RU-vid and after finding he song I cannot stop listening. This song is a goldmine

"Dust in the Wind" is their other big hit. "Miracles out of Nowhere" is quintessential. If you want a deep cut, I recommend "Hopelessly Human". "Magnum Opus" is the most prog thing ever.

The fact that the same band made this and also Dust in the Wind, lets you know they are legendary artists. Damn.

This came out sometime in the 1970's...I'm here listening in 2020. Absolutely looove this song! It's even my husband's current ringtone...lol. This is just one of those timeless classics! It'll never get "old". 💯🤘🎶
