@@lucasdistasio_ true but Kanye did it in his own way, in a more simplistic way. Pain’s was more soulful autotune, Ye’s was more minimalistic, which is what people like Travis have ran with
I saw this like about a week ago oh my god I'm traveling with him from now on. I heard the emotional journey. Thought he was a prick before but now NO his creating a deeper path for music. Incredible tune.
@@onealspence8548 everyone hates him because of his public opinions but they have to ignore that and actually take time to listen to his music and they'd love him.
Dunno what happened to Kanye now. I’m not even the biggest Kanye fan but he’s amazing compared to modern artists/celebrity. Remember when celebrity was standing out? Now it’s standing in.
People hated Kanye because he was Anti-music of the mainstream back then, only to realize now, how underrated he actually is and how his music was ahead of his time.
I just heard Yeezus for the first time last week. I was one of those people that said he didn't make anything good after MBDTF. Then someone on insta said Yeezus was the best album ever made....and i'm like...hold tf up. I go listen to it. The soundscapes. The lyrics. Everything. Solid ass album. The asian line with the teriyaki really made me laugh. The civil rights fist line also just shocked me. This nigga has the audacity. I love it.
Don’t know how you can call Kanye Underrated, he’s literally one of the biggest artists in the world, has won many Grammys and has had massive hit singles? Not like he’s still just a beat maker for roc a fella the bloke is fucking massive
@@alandeutsch9987 he proves that auto tune is a legit instrument that he has mastered. It takes serious focus and pipes to make a scream like that sound that good. The live record scratches are so good. It’s just my favorite performance he’s ever done.
@alandeutsch9987 nothing about this is technically difficult. It's a good song, but it's essentially karaoke for him. He's not even playing an instrument. Watch someone playing fingers type guitar while singing, or better yet, try it.
scrolling through the comments and read this... scroll up, and its 5:14 lol meant to be YE!! Guy is talented in so many ways its insane.. Hope he stays safe during this Skete Pete stuff , the world and his family needs Ye!!
I’ve been trying to convert my friends who don’t really see Kanye as anything other than a pop star. It’s frustrating that they can’t see this man is a contemporary symphonic composer in the medium of Hip Hop. Every note is intentional. Every word, deliberate and crafted. It’s art in its purest form. What a shame. But I’m glad to see the comments are full of a bunch of disciples of Yeezus. I think my next tattoo with be a Yeezus piece.
You do realize the vocoder effect on his voice is set on a specific scale (or maybe even a pre defined score), so that when he yells on the mic like a goat, it sounds "ok" ? You guys.... Brrrr.. You'll reconsider, or maybe not, do what you want !
@@someoneacomputer1905 we already said it - everything he does, every note, sound, effect is intentional. He wants you to feel something (if your ears are ready for it). In that particular case, He wanted you to feel the "agony of years of frustration", which perfectly blends with the sounds you hear. You'll reconsider, or maybe not, but I want you to enrich your senses!
I remember they deleted this performance on youtube. I wasn't happy when i couldn't find it. 8 years later.. Let's search for the performance again. Released like 20 days ago. YEES!
@@PepijnvanBakel No the saying "Strange Fruit and Blood on the Leaves" was a poem about lynching of black people and recorded and sang and made Popular by Billie Holiday...they say the song is the reason she died...they refused to give her meds because she said she wouldn't stop preforming the song. This song used to banned in America for a long time. Probably still hated.
Would definitely become a HIT if released today! Such visionary and timeless artist. I guess that's the price you pay for being almost 10 years ahead of everybody else in your generation! It's a shame that only few can recognize such genious.
well kanye is such a popular artist that even if he releases something thats the opposite of the structure of a hit, it still becomes very popular. so everything is a hit but not at the same time.
@@shakaj1525 he really is michael jackson great. Not saying he's better or worse but there both in the very top their of artist to ever live and both arguably the goats of there genres. There both on a level were its no longer just music, its an art in every sense of the word. (Obviously music is an art but hope you get what i mean)
the screams give me chills. more specifically going back to the calm "and breathe" after screaming his heart out. that is how continuing on after a hard life change can be. you have to keep breathing but sometimes its hard
This one of my favorite singular live performances ever. The amazing way it all just focuses on him, the added record scratches, the quietness of the audience, the manipulation of his echos, its all so perfect and amazing. It stays true to the album version and at the same time has its own individuality. Genius.
I remember the 2013 version of me didn’t like yeezus cause I was super into Eminem and all I cared for was super complex lyrical rap. Then around 2015 I started diving back into Kanye’s discography and realized what a genius he is. I’d like to go back in time and slap myself sometimes haha.
the thing is, when you look into it kanye's music is way more complex than eminem's. Eminem can cram a shit ton of words into a short amount of time which is cool, but you can't actually understand what he's saying and even if you do there's no apparent meaning to it. ye's music on the other hand, is slower but so much more deliberate and meaningful. each word is intentional and carries a deeper meaning. this song for example samples "strange fruit" which is a very melancholic song about lynching and slavery, and he uses that deep message to talk about his own personal struggles with some unidentified girl or perhaps his inner demons. At this time, Ye was struggling to get into the fashion business and there was a lot of anger pent up inside of him. the whole purpose of the album is basically Ye finding himself through Kim. It's a genius masterpiece work of art. I highly recommend the dissect podcast season 8 for you to learn more about why Yeezus is so genius.
This is one of the greatest performances I've ever experienced. Kanye took Autotune and made it a literal tool; an instrument. This hits a chord in my heart that I can't explain.
The ending is literally one dude and an audio sample. One dude, and a sample of one woman and her piano repeating over and over to create perfection at the moment.
I don’t even think there is a prime Kanye. Every single album he’s done there will be fans out there it’s his best ever. 2 of my 3 fave Ye albums have been the last 2
One of the greatest artists of all time, and my idol for about a decade. It's a shame he never took responsibility for his mental heath. His legacy is permanently torched now for everyone not remaining in, what is at this point, his cult. F*** Kanye West.
You should exercise, cut down on sugars, caffenine, and screen time. Also early morning sunlight on both skin and into eyes will help. It ain't F*** Kanye bro, its all within. You can be somebody. Come out of your body.
Everything about this preformace was exceptional in every way- including the videography. The shot of Kanye "screaming" into the mic towards the end was as if paying homage to Billie Holiday. Just perfection
The Dunning-Kruger Effect describes how people with low ability in a given area overestimate their ability. Kanye West does not fall victim to this. Kanye West is every bit as talented as he believes he is.
I used to think this song was deep, now in 23' i'm thinking i only got that part from the title. Blood on the leaves has a deeper meaning connected to his roots, yet the song is about his relationship with women, the industry and fame. To express those feelings of what the titel says Vs the emotions on this song, maybe to him it feels like the same, but i know it's not even close. The album Being his most unappreciated one i still admire the sounds that come out of it, RAGE, Pain, frustration with a devotion and love to the craft. He delivers no matter what and that is not what everyone can do.
With so much autotune I'm a pretty decent performer as well ! You should see him in a freestyle settting at Sways Talk without Boundaries !! 🙄🤔😭😭🤣 lmao ! ( 'Slavery was a choice' 🤨 )
2013: Kanye dropped Yeezus, we listened and we were all on different sides of the fence. I loved it. My close friends (majority) thpught it was okay or bad. Next day, i walk into the computer lab at school, here someone playong I'm In It. I was like 14 and was so happy, then he said the croissant line and said the album is Terrible and everyone started laughing... IT IS HIS FAVORITE ALBUM AS OF 2022
@@BloodRaven429 yeah i was just using the line as an example cuz i vividly remember my classmate clowning that bar when it dropped edit: oh shit i said im in it my fault
Didn’t realise just how good that final verse is before watching this. The whole story of the song is crazy. “Two thousand dollar bag with no cash in your purse” sums up it all up. GOAT
Back here at 3AM to be captivated by Kanye doing his thing! I'd love a whole live album of Yeezus. Ye is truly the greatest living artist man fr. Love you Ye
@@epicman39 That's what it is. Taking away your career, or in Kanye's case careers and then the power that comes with them. He's still rich and has opinions but is that all that different from likes of Kevin Spacey. If there's any celebrities that have been largely resistant to cancelling it seems to be comedians like Chappelle and Louis CK.
@@snoopshrek8315 I think the "cancelled" term is dumb but pretty much everyone who has been considered "cancelled" still has fans, lots of money and family. The point is the main streams outlets like radio and major festivals that were used to promote his music will no longer engage with him in the same way and nor will the sneaker companies. I'd say he's also lost a lot of his fanbase as well. He's done irreparable damage.
