Just installed mine on the Africa Twin and I think it is incredible. I have carpool tunnel on my right wrist and with this installed it allows me to rest my hand and keep it from getting numb. Definitely worth the money and allows me to ride all day with minimal to no pain.

What I may like is that with the throttle in idle, one at this stage can add the tension and now with a little more resistance than normal twist the throttle to your desired speed and it is set. Other-words one does not have to turn the dial at 70 mph to set it up in my example? I assume what I wrote is correct?

Hi and thanks for reposting this. I installed my Saturday before your latest video. Of the 2 thrust washers that came with the Kaoko I used the shallow one. You used the deep one I believe. Mine seems to work OK but just to verify I should have used the deeper one with the stock Honda grips (not heated)? Also, My spring clip stayed in the handlebar but was easily pulled out with a needle nose pliers.

+Randi Ruge Yes I used the deeper one, its for the stock Honda grips, the other one is for the OEM heated grips. Yea the clip isn't to hard to pull out. I did the same thing once

I bought a used 2017 AT last year and it has this exact Kaoko throttle lock on it. I want to install Honda heated grips that I bought but I don’t have the other insert as you showed as the original owner didn’t give it to me. Can I modify the one for the stock grips to work with the Honda heated grips? Thanks for sharing, love your videos!

Thing is, in an emergency you just grab the brakes while the throttle is still wide open, normal throttles snap back naturally, might not have time to think when stuff happens.

Hello sir In 2:30 truss washer , where I can find it as separate part , because the gas hand grip is , a little bit loss , I think all africa twin comes like that . So I f I install only truss washer , I think it will become more stable .

With gloves it is a little bit difficult to handle the wheel lock. I have this one on my Super Tenere 1200. When it is lock, it works great, very easy to dosing the throttle.

@@WOODZMAN Got it on today. It does the job for what it is intended for. It was a simple install, your vid was informative and helped; thanks. Fit with the Barkbusters with no problem. The only potential issue I see is that there is a slight gap from the o ring to the friction nut. I am pretty sure it will be a Non issue though. A little pricey, but leaving for the Dempster and Alaska on July 14th, from Cincinnati, I know my wrist will appreciate having it installed. Thanks again

I notice that the stabilizer you have is cracked at the set screw. Is this a defect? you can see it clearly at 4:09.

I purchased one of these for 2019 AT Adventure Sport it has heated grips.. I followed instructions( using the correct washer for heated grips) and it just locked up my throtttle🤔 couldn’t even turn the throttle .. so removed it? Seems very odd the heated grip washer doesn’t slide over easy either?? Any ideas

In case anyone comes across this, you have to place the two silver washers in between the plastic piece that touches the grip, and the kaoko device.

Throttle locks are a half measure. A gas peddle lock for a car would be declared illegal the instant it was manufactured yet here we are, putting a mechanical throttle lock (stabalizer) onto motorcycles. There is no argument that they do not do what they claim, it's the claim that is flawed. No matter how you twist it, a throttle lock or stabalizer is adding friction to the throttle and what is the last thing you ought to do? Add friction to the throttle. There are very good cruise control accessories that plug into the ECU/ABS and traction control systems of modern bikes. Of course not every bike can use one of them but for the Africa Twin there is the excellent MC Cruise among others that are practically plug and play and work with the ABS and Traction control systems. They've proven to be very reliable and safe to use. Seriously take a look at hosw the item shown in the video works and just watch as the throttle hand needs to shift position and move to adjust and activate it. Does that seem smart to you? While these things can work and for many they do just from the way they work you should know that it's something thats a solution to a problem for which far better solutions are available.
