Kapital Century Denim | Are they Worth it? 

Loved the video, very interested in how these will evolve over time. With that said, I’m totally on the same page with the value thing. Buy less but better works at its best when you know what works for you personally and gets you excited to wear the hell out of the pieces you decide to spend money on. Keep it up man!

I bought the no9 CD set pants and jacket last year, been enjoying wearing them but only problem I have is that the mud dye sashiko threads faded quite drastically, the sashiko threads on my pair are turning white even without washing/soaking, I'm probably gonna do kakishibu coating on my pair after the first wash. Another thing to be considered is that the mud dye threads are MUCH weaker and easy to break compared to the indigo cotton threads on other CD versions, not sure if it’s because kapital used silk instead of cotton or the mud dye process weaken the threads, for me this isn't an issue since I like to see the progress when I wear my jeans. Overall I like the no9 CD, in my opinion it’s definitely not worth paying the price difference compared to the no5 or no7 CD, the whole point of the no9 premium price is that the sashiko threads and only the sashiko threads are mud dyed but since it fades so quick the mud dye probably gonna go after 2-3 washes 🤷‍♂

I'm 6'3, 190lbs. Curious if i should go tts and get a 36 or size up for a 38? Im leaning towards a 38 because I can always get them taken in at the waist if need be.

They do not do selvedge on the century denim but some other models have selvedge as far as I know. My guess would be selvedge would be hard to obtain in a clean way with the sashiko interlaced through the denim, but I'm sure someone knows

Big fan of Nudie Jeans myself, but the Sashiko styling on the Kapital denim is too cool. Saw these in Soho and loved them

Hey James, 8 months later, how do you like the fading? How are they looking now?

I have a pair myself and I had a couple questions. Have you broken in your pair or is it really stiff. Did you get your pair tailored. And is the color darker on camera than in person because mine looks a lot lighter since I washed it

they do plain and plant dyed selvedge but not normally in the century denim

Did you soak the denim before wearing ?

does your denim stain your shoes? i just picked up a pair and love them but they stained my suede birkenstocks
