Kinda expected for you to explain the joke names but in japanese every karakuri is a pun, even in english like Kuick and Shinkuro which are quick and synchro
“It’s like lore, but for real places.” I think that’s just history Nova. I just loved playing Karakuri in duel links, it was so fun but, got super nerfed to make way for new decks.
I am the resident Karakuri player in a community I am in, and it is a very popular deck. People love facing my build, and I love playing it, so I think it is just a wonderful Archetype
I'm pretty sure that the Karakuri's mdl are gorawase puns, there mdl numbers can be read as their names. I wasn't sure if it applied to all of them, but after watching the video I'm pretty sure it does.
11:16 I like to think that Karakuri Spider are used to assassinate the Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En, cuz he is Dark attribute And my headcanon is that all the ninja/samurai themed archetype are live in the same periode
Karakuri Gold Dust can do more than boost one attack. If you have 2 monsters, you can attack with one of them, and then use Gold Dust to switch that one to defense, and boost the ATK of the other. Basically, you can get the ATK value of one of your Karakuris twice.
Karakuri needs a new continuous spell/trap/field that allows them to attacks directly, like the new fusion Ninja card that allows your Ninjas to attacks directly
I was going to bring up having a link monster would go against their battle position changing aspect, but if Superheavy Samurai can get a link monster, then I guess it wouldn’t matter too much. It’d definitely have a battle-position-changing effect built in, though I’m hesitant about it being a quick effect with Bureibu’s banishing effect.
The funniest thing related to this is the ojama link monster, since it doesnt have def it has the effect to gain 3k if ojama country is on the field, since it can't swap his stats, link monster interacting with def position is always weird
Nova, you need to answer me this question, is has been plaguing my mind since forever, is that on your avatar a little smile, or is it a nose and the mouth is hidden on the scarf? THE WORLD NEEDS ANSWERS, NOVA !
(23:56) I love everything about this combo. "Call an Ambulance Rescueroid, but not for me". (25:11) That's your own fault lol. Oilman (the union monster) released in February of 2010, the Karakuris didn't come out until July of that year. (19:18) Completely random note, but this synchro monster can be readily brought out by members of the Genex Archetype, thought its secondary effect may be of more benefit to morphtronics.
I like how the quoted word in the monster names sounds like the model numbers (e.g. Karakuri Komachi Mdl 224 "Ninishi" If you take each syllable in "Ninishi" you get Ni (2) Ni (2) Shi (4).)
I’m actually surprised to hear these guys are a 5ds archetype. Summoning another one from deck on synchro summon seems a lot more modern. Why weren’t these guys good?
Sentient Artificial life will always betray you, I should know, but I don’t want to deal with these dumb robots, but they are good form their time at least, could make a golden army of them.
We also have a chupa chups drink like that germany and I find it pretty bad. That milky artificial strawberry flavour really doesn't work well as a sparkly drink.
The numbers are Goroawase puns, or puns based on the pronunciation of Japanese numbers, either in Japanese or other languages; for example, a lot of otaku (in both America and Japan) will type "39" after a performance is over; this is a pun on "san" and "kyuu", pronunciations for 3 and 9 in Japanese, which sounds like "thank you" if you say it fast. It's also why 5 is associated so heavily with racing (it's literally pronounced "Go"- this is also the joke behind Number 55 being a Gogogo monster. "Numbazu Go-juu-go: Gogogo Goriasu" is pretty funny in this context, and it's only the tiniest bit upsetting that it's not a Rank 5 to tie the joke together), and there's so many "32" jokes around ninjas in anime- "san" and "ni" together will give a lot of Naruto fans a lightbulb moment, for instance.
I think the model number are using Goroawase. For example: Shirokunishi has the number 4624. The 4s are pronounced "shi", and the 6 and 2 are pronounced "roku" and "ni" respectively.
Started playing yugioh in 2004. Sold my collection and kept only karakuri. Unfortunately old archetypes don't stand a chance against new meta. If they had some special summon power from hand (except solar wind jammer, cyber dragon and the lv5 ),they would be a constant good tier deck.
This is a pretty interesting 🤔 archetype, but I'm not sure if it's a deck for me. But maybe I need to play a game or 2 with them to get a handel on them.
“If anyone can appreciate their golden splendor, it’s me.” You say that, yet your avatar doesn’t have a single piece of gold on it. How can you not represent your own brand?!
