@Take Care and you're an idealist and a hypocrite who can't look any deeper than the surface. I feel terrible for you. And for the men in your life. God forbid any man in your life gets accused or blackmailed into submission by his maid or co-worker.
@Take Care He must be one of those unemployed, unattractive (in their head) and unhappy people Karan is talking about. May lord heal and bless his soul.. 😇
@@upama12 😂😂😂 or maybe he is someone who actually does a lot of research to form informed opinions and is more in touch with ground level reality. But whatever you think Ma'am. Its a crime to even argue if you're a man these days. Beware the 'Mansplaining', the 'Manspreading', the 'Toxic Masculinity'. 🤦🏽♂️
i'm partial on him...there are times when he seems very close minded and as if he lives in an industry bubble with his clicky friends and biased tendencies. but then when he talks..he sounds intelligent and very progressive. wish he practiced what he preached more.
Same... I think I did myself justice by watching this interview. I had a unidimensional view of hind. Now I see him as a bit delusional but very powerful & intelligent
I value Kjo for his honesty, being himself and not caring too much about it. This interview made it even better, he really gave time and invested in soul searching and it shows. Wish you the best and hope you always progress being who you are.
People can love him or hate him but can be indifferent.... i simply love his honestly wittiness and his understanding of life from his own eyes and how he depicts it.
What an articulate and well spoken person Karan is! And what a wonderful, wonderful human being he is ! I ant to say this to him I am not on social media like Twitter and face book etc. Will some please convey my message yo Karan . I admire him and salute him and wish him only the best.
Somehow always liked Karan. He is kind, generous and bold and honest. Thanks for being yourself. Would love to meet you and I enjoy your movies thoroughly.
I was always just in love with his movies but now I am in love with him too. I have known that he was always a good speaker and always very opinionated and vocal, but he is insightful too. What a MAN!!!
Dear Karan, it is amazing how much we’ve in common. Growing up I used to dance to all Hellen tunes. I went thru similar struggles, only deeper. I was ousted by the person I was having a relationship with and was forced to endure insults and humiliation of my parents and sibling and extended family. Ultimately, I succumbed and went thru an arranged marriage and had a kid. It lasted only a year. Went thru deep depression and ultimately picked up the courage to breakthrough and thru hardships, found my true love and now I’m successful in every aspect in life and married to a wonderful person for the last sixteen years. I wish there was enough space here to tell my whole story, but one needs to have courage to stand against all odds and truly believe in your self. You’re amazing Karan!
Despite having so many flaws, Karan Johar´ aura of captivating others with his intellectual, unapologetic frankness & magnetic persona is truly incredible.
@@phoenixjason5 I won't say that. Irrespective of innumerous flaws, Karan Johar has become one of the powerhouse of mainstream commercial cinemas; which was only possible as a result of his hardwork, sincere dedication & intelligence.
@@t.g.8717 chalo, for once I found someone who is at least respectful and capable of civil discourse. Thanks for that! Others are quick to accuse me of misogyny. Anyway, Karan Johar was born to a Bollywood Producer who owned 'Dharma Productions'. His father seems very liberal, someone who did not judge his own son n was very supportive. Karan, through his words and ideas comes off as someone who has no understanding or history and why things are the way they are. If men of old were emasculated like they are now, humanity would be extinct. Times are changing and things will too. You can't blame a poor farmer in a harsh environment for making his kids tough. In fact, being ridiculed and getting into tough situations are what make us grow as people. I've had my fair share too and I'm thankful for that. I was in depression too, I'm glad i learnt to pick myself up, but this isn't about me. So, I'll just end this by saying, no matter how many cars you have, no matter how many women you've slept with, or how old you are, I don't care cus that's not my criteria for respecting someone. Likewise, no matter how successful you are, its not entirely based on your intelligence, especially in a country like India.
@@t.g.8717 thanks, my man! Thanks for being open to ideas and if at any point you feel like I'm not making sense, please please please correct me! I want to learn more n more and only through errors and corrections will I do that.
Doesn't matter who u are wat u are... U r bloody talented.. The way u host the way u talk make movies.. No one does.. I have always had huge respect for you always.. U r my fav KJo
even i.like karan ...i am may be to his moms age ..so whatever he does or whatever he is i like him .god bless him always.he is very lovable and honest
My husband used to dance to Helen's song from Sholay.. so what.. it's perfectly fine to do just what one wants. Society should stop moving backwards even after so much education. Grow up Society ! Stop judging people ! Love you Karan and Barkha.
You are truly blessed by The Devine 🙌🏼..U are a perfect dad and mom for Roohi and Yash .. a mother is emotional, sensitive, she gives protection from stress to her children , she is an empathic nurturer right 😊and u possess all these qualities in you Karan 👍U are a strong human being I truly believe ..one day Roohi ,Yash themselves will say “ You are everything for us DADA , a complete 🌎 world 😍
My thoughts found a speech...The speech found a platform ...And the platforms were received well...wow..so well thought & spoken...surely comes from heart
Madam Barkha Dutt your speaking and concern for people when we face them face to face and the true story from the person concerned very excellent I appreciate your concern
Most of the time Karan comes off as a total elitist Narcissist, however in this interview he is being REAL and raw and it is very refreshing. Govinda's female twin Barkha is trying to be Oprah..I can appreciate that she let Karan speak without interrupting him or his thoughts unlike most interviews, good interview over all. The way he talks about his kids and making their choices, I have said that about my own child. Kids should be allowed to flourish and do what they feel. Parents are their to help them in THEIR decisions not dictate it, most people don't get that. Most Indian parents want to make every single decision for their even grown children, which does not allow children to reach their fullest potential and know their true desires. I am proud of Karan. I am surprised to see not many men in the audience. That sucks!
Absolutely right -why to put ourselves in boxes. Its true, there is no better love story than with yourself but real love exists one two rejections doesn’t mean u can’t find or get true love ..u need to be open to search in life 😊well u are true honest witty and only a pure soul can accept.. I salute u Karan 💎u are a gem .. Roohi and Yash will flourish 😘god bless the kids 🙌🏼
Hats off Barkha for doing this amazimg interview with Karan Johar. Karan yr interview by far was so good n honest that I can now say that I am yr fan. Alll the Best on raising your precious cute babies.❤❤
Was awaiting such an interview of Karan for a long time. Hope he now makes some fantastic movies on third gender like the one's v see on west eg Prayers for Bobby, Mambo jambo etc. The one's that a normal third gender crowd can show to their parents n make them believe that third gender is a reality.
we talk about women empowermment. we say woman are capable and should be encouraged in the fields dominated by men but then what about men. men should be free what so called falls in woman domain.men can be interested in performing ballet or may like to dress in flowery colourful clothes. i know its not practical but we should be tolerant about other human beings. every individual is unique with its own taste and style. unless the person is not harming someone i dont see we have any reason to put that person in the mould that we have for ourself. and ridiculing a boy only because he shows some of the so called feminist aspect only comes from a thought process who feel girls are inferior. and honestly speaking these so called "phansy"(i am sorry for this word as i dont belive in this) are always better than the so called masculine rapist. thank you karan for being so vocal.celebrrity voices help as a same ordinary person who might have suffered just like you , his voice would never be heard.
Karan Johar is the best. If I ever criticised you for Nepotism, Which I'm sure you wouldn't have read, but if you did Never mind Do your thing. You are The Karan Johar, The best.
I know I am being an asshole but @ 20:07 Karan says "seeked".. The past tense of "seek" is "sought" not "seeked".. And I have seen Karan saying "seeked" in other interviews as well.
@@hummus304 woah... Where have you learnt English from??.. No form of English (American, British or otherwise ) has seeked as a word... There's no such word...as far as the verb eat is concerned.. It's eat, ate, eaten and seek as verb is seek, sought, sought... (simple present l, simple past and past participle).
I am not sure of others but I just can’t stand Barkha - always opinionated and one sided. She forgets almost all the time that she is an interviewer and should be unbiased and neutral. To keep her personal likes, linage etc aside and provide a platform for conversation where both sides are heard. Which seldom happens ...not sure how this vid is - this comment is a general statement from my past experiences. I don’t bother watching her in same lines as ‘Nation wants to know’ Guy.
@ Shipo / that’s like saying excelling is impossible - which is true at a metaphysical level there is always scope for improvement. When you are an interviewer - your aim is not to throw ur opinion around but to facilitate and make the interviewee express better. So when I say no bias / I don’t mean Barkahs personal likes or dislikes we each have and ought to have that is what culminates us to become our individual self. But when u are playing a certain part / profession / role / the part comes with its own responsibilities and underlaying forbearance. One who understands this for lack for better word excels.
