I truly dont think that Karen knew how beautiful and talented she was...her voice is pure liquid gold...she was a star on earth...now a star in heaven...R.I.P. Karen...we will never forget you...

I believe that too! All she really ever wanted was for Mother to tell her that she loved her. I believe that by Agnes doing that it would have made all the difference.
February 4, 2023 today is Karen's 40th Anniversary. It does not seem like 40 years have gone by. Fan since I was a kid in 1970 when I first heard your voice. A voice like no other and a sparkling personality that grabbed me and never let go.Thank You Karen! Love You and really Miss You! Thank You for doing this and posting this!

While many famous entertainers have died, very few of them still inspire such pain as the passing of the Angel Karen Carpenter. She is still truly loved by millions. If she only knew.
I think she knew. But she had inner spiritual battles just like many of us experience in our lifetimes. She not only comforted millions with her angelic voice but she also exposed the problem of eating disorders - probably saving the lives of persons who battle the same inner conflicts. Of course we miss her - but at least we had her on Earth for 32 years. Karen's resting place is gorgeous. Good job to Richard with its design and tribute to his sister and parents.
Richard only knew how to do one thing in life: Select, arrange, and produce songs for his sister. Sometimes in life, all you need to know how to do is one thing. Such a heartbreaking, tragic loss, even still in 2021.
40 years and 4 days before Burt Bacharach's passing on February 8th, 2023 this angel Karen soared to heaven. Imagine the musical gifts we lost in that time but what heaven's choir gained.

I agree, she had the best and warmest female voice. I grew up on her music. I felt so bad as a kid when she passed away. She was the female version of Elvis in my opinion.
Oh yes it was in 1983 I just moved in downtown Saint Louis Missouri I heard on the radio that Karen carpenter had passed away me and my siblings loved listening to the carpenters music 🎶 🎵 on a record player I loved her singing voice she is singing for the lord with her incredible voice rip Karen 🙏 🕊 ☮

I feel so distraught whenever I return to hear her sing - because I'm reminded of the untimely death of such a talented, beautiful, young woman. She had a unique voice, and it was one of the most beautiful ever.
Karen was amazing but so was Richard who was incredibly talented as a composer and arranger of their music. Their music is timeless and Karen was lost far too early. My favourite song was "This Masquerade" its just so beautiful when sung by Karen.

I was so thrilled to see you in the pharmacy at Gemco, to get your your brother's signature when my friend and I were selling mistletoe around our neighborhood when I was 10 and I was so glad you were our neighbor! I knew Frank Pooler. I blew him away in a singing class at CSULB because I worked so hard to sound just you. I've been writing songs since I was 10; used two cassette recorders to play piano and guitar and overdub singing. The quality wasn't too great, Ha ha. I tried 'making it' but got beaten up. Now I teach piano to little kids. I'm putting an Army of piano players out there. I've been teaching 42 years and can't believe I get paid to 'produce' music makers. It's a blast! Move over crappy music of today. The pendulum is a swingin'! You're the best, Karen, along with Ella. I miss her too but not like you.

The very first album I ever bought when I started working was a Carpenters album. I loved her voice. It sounds like smooth molten chocolate. Even if you don’t know the song her voice was one that was instantly recognisable. I recall being so shocked when I heard back then that she had died.
