Our Lady of Rock Divinity's tomb in Westlake Village, California. I go past there a couple of times per year so when I found out her mausoleum was there I took my camera and stopped & put some flowers there.
I love Karen carpenter I am just 20 year old now, but I explored her songs lately and I found my soul in it.. Her songs are like touching heaven and so pleasant..No one can touch the feet of Karen's melody... RIP Karen
A lovely resting place..for a lovely woman with a timelessly beautiful voice. Her gift to us was her talented way of singing a song. I love all of the Carpenters music to this day. She died way too young.
Thankyou for this. It,s well done and the music suits as well. What a stunning spot. Thankyou, Karen Capenter,s made some hard days bearable back then . She was and is special. Xx
... I remember seeing Karen and Richard perform on TV for the 1st time on the All American College show back in 1968. I was smitten instantly - she was gorgeous! ... and that voice! .... 45 years pass and I now find myself living in Southern California ..... I visited her grave on 3/2 on what would have been her 63rd birthday ... left 3 red roses at the entrance .... still smitten after all these years ....
As today is the 33rd anniversary of Karen's passing, I thought I'd stop by here to pay my respects since I'm too far away to visit her tomb in person. Rest in heavenly peace beautiful Karen, you will NEVER be forgotten and your music lives on forever.
It was nice that you honored Karen Carpenter with this video . I'm sure that her family &friends wanted this little shrine built ,for everyone to sit down & reminisce about the love & joy she brought to us through her songs . What a beautiful lovely lady . "Sing with the angels Karen "
Since 1983 I have never been more saddened by by a stars death as I have of Karen's. Such a beautiful voice that you can listen to for hours. Which I have and still love her voice. Thank you Karen for the so many hours I've listened to you. So many people loved and still love you. In our hearts forever.
Although I never Knew her, I love her spirit in my heart. Her voice and songs make me happy, sad, and different feelings that seen so very out of touch. I'm glad that I can still listen to the Love that she tried to show the world. Plus I'am a drummer!!! I'am thankful for her and her music that seems so heartwarming and loving. I hope that she will be in heaven...
@@peterandreadakis3851 the reason why it's spelled incorrectly is because they're using the microphone and not texting it sometimes it'll pick it up correctly, other times not.
I believe that Karen always thought that her mothers favourite was her brother, and she came second, also her eating disorder started, when a newspaper called her plump!!! She tried to get well, and when at the end she told people she was well, she was still taking laxatives, which she hid, her heart could not take any more, all this is documented on her autopsy report!!!! Karen your voice will be heared forever!!!! 🐩🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I was introduced to The Carpenters in 3rd grade by my teacher then...Ms.Olsen..She played On Top Of The World..And she also taught me how to knit...I still listen to the Carpenters and still knit...Wherever you are Ms.Olsen..Thank you for pouring into all your students..
Would be nice to hear Karen's voice, esp. the last one she recorded while she was sick: "Now". Thanks for the upload and the flowers you brought her. RIP Karen we deeply miss you.
WOW! Impressive. No money spared on this object of beauty. But why not? Karen Carpenter was a rare talent that had the voice of an angel. A terribly sad day for the music world when she passed away over thirty years ago. Sleep well Karen. I hope I get a seat for your next great performance xxx
+John Pfeiffer INDEED. Pathetic and sad what these people must be going through to make such horrible, evil public remarks. These sad people must loathe themselves, or their inner hate would not be on display.
What a beautiful Soul. It always breaks my heart to know that the woman who sang, "Sing your OWN song. Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear" gave so much weight to the opinions of the A-HOLES of the world. Nothing makes me HAPPIER, yet more SAD than hearing Karen Carpenter and John Lennon. I always wonder what other BEAUTIFUL music would have been created by them. Two lives dedicated to making MUSIC, not WAR. LIVES WELL LIVED. Rest In Peace, Sweet Spirits! ';-(
Her vocal tone was liquid gold, absolutely beautiful. Have to say, this ia a lovely final resting place. Calm, dignified mausoleum, and attractive grounds with the water feature nearby. Very peaceful spot to sit in contemplation of a lost loved one.
tombakerfx It’s hard to believe that Karen Carpenter would now be an elderly woman of 70 years old. Instead, she will live on as a beautiful woman of 32, with the voice of an angel. May she Rest In Peace for all eternity.
I saw her tomb before this move, at Forest Lawn in Cypress. Guess what it was New Years Day (decades ago) Richard pulled up with both parents. Richard had a white t shirt on and the dad had a blue blazer on with The Carpenters on the back. The tomb was on the inside before and I just left it as the Carpenter family car pulled up. It was just them and me watching off to the side. On Karen`s tomb it stated: A Star On Earth - A Star In Heaven. I WILL ALWAYS remember that special day in my life. It was very memorable and touching to me. Like millions of others I was a fan of The Carpenters.
Such an elaborate tomb. Maybe out of guilt? Her family, including her brother, were not what I would call, supportive of her. Shame. Incredible voice. Loved her.
Thank you for posting. I am a huge fan of Karen, I grew up with her music which touches my heart. Watching these videos makes me so very sad, Karen was a beautiful soul and an immeasurable talent, her hauntingly beautiful voice was pitch perfect and would have loved the opportunity to have see one of there concerts...Though she is no longer with us I relive my youth with the Carpenters' music and remember with fondness the times of my life..........
rite now, Karen is sleeping quietly like an angel inside of the mausoleum...like a princess...sleeping peacefully, she have nothing to worry anymore or to take care of...she's at peace now,...smiling while her eyes closed, waiting for that day to come~...T_T
Thinking of KC today, 03/02/2018, which would have been her 68th birthday. While not a fan of MJ, the song and some of the lyrics feel/seem/sound appropriate with a very beautiful resting place. I remain hopeful that I'll be able to visit "The Carpenter Tomb" in the next few years. Thank you Richard for creating a wonderful place for your family.

Forget M.J. Not to criticize him! But Karen was apart! She truly was the best female vocalist of the 20 th century! Strong statement! It's my feeling though!
UMA VIDA TODA DEDICADA A ALGO QUE SEMPRE VAMOS CARREGAR EM NOSSAS VIDAS, ESSA MULHER ERA TAO FORTE E INCRIVEL, ADORO SUAS MUSICAS E PRINCIPALMENTE ESCUTAR A SUA BELA VOZ

Stop complaining about the song choice (it is a beautiful song!) and be grateful that this person took the time to put together a video and share their visit to Karen's resting place. It's a beautiful dedication. If you want a Carpenters song, then you can listen anytime you like, or even better- upload your own video!
Such a talented family. My family lived in Downey, CA. as they were just becoming successful. I remember living a block away from the "Close to you " apartments and across the street were the "We've only just begun " apartments. Such a wonderful time to be alive.
Love her music. Too bad her own family didn't give her the love she was seeking her whole life. It drove her to the eating disorder and eventually her untimely and tragic death. Many entertainers have this condition. That is what drives them in front of an audience. They crave the attention that they never got from the people close to them. They might have loved her but they did know how to show her. Probably the same with her marriage. A tragedy for all of us would love her and her beautiful music. At least her music will live on forever, and hopefully so will her memory.
I think it is a beautiul song, you did well. Karen approves I am sure. We will always have her music. Wow this is one of the most beautiful gravesites I have ever seen. Thanks Michael for the gift of your music too.
