Karen Grassle is just so gracious and so lovely!! Her gentleness shows her beauty not only in the Little House series, but also here as she speaks to us about the show. She was my favorite character in the show....and still is my favorite tv actress of all time. So so elegant and classy!!
I’m a 67 year old black woman. I have fallen in love with little house! I am currently reading the books in the series. I just started The Long Winter. Little house is so cool and sweet!
I am 46 years old and i also fallen in love with little house! For me it s also a possibilty to learn english.......and when i had a hard day, after one story,i am feeling much better
@@annehippel9651 Your english ( writing) is excellent! I have taught GED classes and believe me people who truly want to learn can be better with english then native speakers! I hope that one day there's a remake of LH. I think that the actress who played Nelly Olsen could be great as Harriette Olsen! The daughter would play the mother! Live long and prosper, Annie Hippel !
Yes, I watched it growing up and was able to obtain the DVDs over the years. Just good television. I'm white. Loved The Jeffersons, The Walton's. No matter what color God decided to paint us, we all have pretty much the same feelings. You take care.😊
I love Mrs. Ingalls she taught kindness, respect, patience, love and never gossip, talk bad about people nor be rude. She was a mother figure for me. Love her to pieces ❤️ Class act!
Yes. I remember when Laura had failed a really important exam (I think it was for her teaching certification) and her mom told her “you failed this exam and it won’t be the last one.” It made me cry. Motherly love was portrayed so well.
Karen grass le is so beautiful and very classy that I was so surprised that Michael fell in love with the makeup artist but not with this woman who was so perfect for him ✌️they had chemistry between them and they really look good together as a couple!👍🏾
One reason that this show continues to be shown over and over and over again is that it is TIMELESS. Unlike various other shows of the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, or even recent shows cancelled in the 2000s. That timeless quality. And it was all due to (1) Laura Ingalls Wilder and her books, and, (2) the talent of MICHAEL LANDON as main star, executive producer, and who wrote and directed most of the episodes. I suspect this show shall be being watched for a hundred years from now!!!! :-)
I grew up watching this show. After my brother left to join the service (Air Force) and my sister went away to College, it was just the 3 of us, Mom, Dad and me. We would watch episodes of Little House. My Mom would look over at Dad and he would be crying. My Dad was a rugged man. He believed in hard work. He worked hard at the Steel Mill for 42 years. This show always touched him. My Mom and Dad both passed away just 2 years 7 months and 5 days from each other. I miss them both so much. I love this show. Brings back memories of the 3 of us watching it together in the Living Room.
I know we have seen all of these thousands of times. And i will see them thousands more. Currently watching season 7. And even though this was 30 plus years ago i found myself getting choked up a few times. Even as a kid it was so magical. And now that im alot older it still has that magic to it. I wish Michael Katherine Richard Kevin.. All the ones who have passed on were still here. If i could live in the 1880s i would live in walnut grove
I grew up watching Little House on the Prairie I was 9 years old when it started in 1974, I am 51 years old now. I loved the show back then and I still do now and I still watch it now. The cast were absolutely perfect and so was the acting and the stories and the sets and the scenery. It is one of my favourite shows of all time. Also the fact that it is based on the lives of real people who actually existed in real life makes it even better and the show never looks out of date even though it is set in the 1870's and 1880's.
I grow up watching this show, I’m now 54 and I still love it, I don’t get bored of watching it over and over! God bless all of the actors and actresses that participated on it! Great teachings of life❤️🙏❤️. Love you all!
I am the same age and bought the DVD's and watching them all after having seen some episodes as a child - timeless values being taught I agree. So different from today's television which I don't watch at all as there is nothing worth watching really.
When i was young and my home life was nothing chaos and battle after battle....that show.....gave me a little piece of Light in those dark days. My God Bless them all for the escape to Peacefulness i experienced with each show! Nelly was a Pill! Lol
@@JohnDoe-ih8ou only on camera...In real life he may have been a good father since his kids turned out very well but as husband he failed miserably. He dumped wife # 1 for a Bonanza stand in, then dumped her for a slutty make-up artist from Little House.🎈🎈
Michael's heart and vision and Karen's wonderful portrayal have created something magical and timeless. God bless Little House on the Prairie. Love these marvelous people.
I loved the Handyman episode for Carolyn also. To be honest, I watch 2 episodes a day just to remind me of what truly matters in life. It isn't cars, money or status its being a person of value and integrity
@Neo Matriks What's REALLY unattractive is when a person takes someone's sweet, positive comment and twists it into something negative out of ignorance and bile.
Little House on the Prairie came along at just the right time for our family, when my wife and I were raising our 5 children. We never missed an episode and the whole family was eager for the next. The Ingalls family was, and remains, part of our family, and I think it hurt us as much as it did the cast when the set was blown up, ending a really great family show.
+Gene Kinnick ours too - our parents have both passed on now but little house was one of the few things I watched with either mum or dad as a family n i will always treasure that.
Elizabeth, it was probably one of the most memorable and powerful family shows we were ever privileged to see on television, and based on actual events the Ingall's family experienced. Michael Landon and his cast stayed very true and faithful to Miss Ingall's books on her family and their life-adventure. It was a captivating look into that era of American history. Our kids enjoyed it so much they read the books, and kept on reading ...giving them a valuable window to learn more about how this country was settled, how it grew and what people went through to survive it. There were other very good family shows on T.V. but none like Little House. We now have three grand daughters and I want to find the whole series for them to watch, right along with the books to read.
+Gene Kinnick try hallmark or ING .... and like u said its fantastic show I just barley started watching it this year with my mom on ING network and we never miss an episode.
I've been watching the little house shows but they only go up to season 7 and then go back to the pilot why don't they keep going till the very last show.
Watching the reruns on TV. Forgotten how wonderful some of the stories were. Some great childhood memories. Little House on the Praire and The Waltons leave the stuff of today standing . . .
What a lovely interview-she was definitely a great maternal role model (in all but one episode-no one is perfect!) and I noticed this was put together by Dean Butler. What a tribute to Karen that her fellow cast member saw fit to put this programme together. Thanks ever so much for posting it.
I watched growing up as a child at 5 years old and today at 52 I still watch it. When I get in from work it's on MeTv and I have it playing in the background while I do cleaning and laundry and get reading for tomorrow. I love Little House and The Waltons.. these 2 shows take me back to a nostalgic feeling of euphoria. It warms my heart ❤️ it will forever be timeless . It's a show every child should watch regardless if it was 1974 or 2022 ... ...timeless 🥰 Little House on the Prairie marathons on a weekend cold rainy day and no plans ..no work and no on-call..don't get any better 🤣🥰😉 Karen Grassle was my favorite along with Katherine MacGregor .. Caroline and Mrs.Olsen's scenes were so funny and at times heart felt. ❤️ in a way .. I grew up with these folks from 5 years old to 15 years old...as so many of us did. #LittleHouse #TheWaltons 🥰😇❤ #Nostalgia..
Yes this actress is very beautiful when young....she is perfecr for the role.I just loved LHOTP and all the cast. I watched this drama many times on TV, and also on youtube. Thanks to Michael Landon for giving us such a wonderful TV series.
Very nice to stumble onto this interview. I am enjoying the repeats shown on Cozi TV and I am reminded of how good these episodes were. The blowing up the town must have some back story, other than, this is the end of this series. These days it's harder to come across a series that will last this long. Continued success to Ms. Grassle.
My 8MM Project Now that we are imprisoned in 2020 I found COZY tv and am now watching this timeless treasure! The blowing up of the town felt similar to what we are going through now worldwide the end of life as we once knew the final battle between good and evil!
A program that I would never feel bored of. I would watch over and over again if it makes me cry heartfelt each time. I'm 58 and I first watched it when I was 9 or 10 the same age as Laura.
As you go through a pandering this country and I’ve been working from home since March, I’ve been watching LHOTP everyday. It brings me back to a much simpler time in life and calms my nerves. I think I have watch the whole series of shows at least 5 times since working from home. The intro music is pure genius and I can’t imagine the show starting any other way. Karen, is just as beautiful now as she was then. I loved Mrs Olsen too!!!
Karen Grassle's 'Ma Ingalls' was probably the closest to a real life mother that I've ever seen,.....she was never over-the-top, she played it very conservatively. And she simply played the part so well. Grassle was that next-door-neighbor that we all knew in our lives.
That scene with Laura and Mrs. Oleson made me cry then, makes me cry now. I need to find this box set for my daughter. I don't let her watch regular tv. It's sucks.
Carolyn and Charles were my pseudo parents, probably many people who grew up in the 70's will say the same. Two weeks ago I began watching all the Little House episodes again, really lifts my spirits during these challenging times we're living in. I say prayers of thanks to the spirit of Micheal Landon often. That show literally raised me and played a big part in the parent and wife that I became. Still married to the same guy after 27 years, 2 kids grown and feeling happy and successful in their lives. Thanks to all who were a part of making Little House💙, thanks Karen Grassle. You and Micheal did such a good job, I would swear you really were in love :)
This show gave us -Goodness, care, thought, empathy, love, hard work, encouragement and downright blinking human decency to each other. No matter what creed or ilk- the simple care to all get along. Wonderful man.He was showing us all how to be he didnt even realise it.
Txredhead 78 So much fun. Do kids even play house these days, or go outside in the woods, build a fort. I remember going outside at Sun up, and we had to be back in the yard when the street lights came on. Lol. Take care. Hold on to the memories...
The episode she was talking about in the other part of the interview 'matter of faith' I can't even watch that one. The pain in her leg?! God! I can almost feel it when I see it
I never get tired of watching Little House! With so much garbage on TV today, it is a real gem and always makes you feel good (well, except for when Mrs. Garvey and Mary's baby died in the fire). God Bless Michael Landon for creating it, and all the actors who starred in it.
Still watching LHOTP after all these years. Never stopped watching. It is my one great comfort in a scary world now. And these people are part of my family.
I have been watching little house since I was a teen and I’m 52 and still watch it almost everyday. Laura and Mary reminds me so much of me and my sister growing up in the city.
In the last month I have started watching little house & waltons again. OMG how awesome. I can relax & enjoy the program. Knowing current politics & social changes will not be interjected is such a relief. So many of my current favorites are no longer watchable.
I love Little House On The Prairie! It is my all time favorite series! It is the only show that my daughter watched as I was raising her. Now she is a mother herself of a sweet little girl and she also is watching Little House as well. I miss all the wonderful characters that played on it and a lot of them have passed on. May they rest in peace. Thank you for the many lessons that I've learned from you all and for bringing joy to my heart. I will continue to watch all of you everyday on dvd.🇺🇸😘😍☺😊
I always loved this show. It would take me back to a time with my grandparents. My grandparents would b over 100 years old. They taught us kids so much.
@@christianone6611 submitting to our husband is not easy. God said that in Genesis, we would desire our husband. Meaning we will fight/want his role. Submitting to my husband is a challenge everyday for me. But indeed, it pays off in the long run. He'll turn into an amazing leader.
What a great show full of great values that we need to teach our children and put it back in our homes and country. God is amazing and good and only in Him we have true peace and love.
I loved Carolyn, she can express any feeling with her beautiful blue eyes. She was Charles rock and a wonderful mother yo her kids. Great actress Karen Grassle.
Excellent video Caroline was one of the biggest Role Models anybody could want. I adored her and her family as a child. I was so jealous wanted to be in that family so bad, you couldn't ask for more perfect family even with their ups and downs they stay close and that's what family is all about. I so appreciate this video thank you.
Little house on the prairie had many touching scenes throughout the entire run of the show. Many times I had tears streaming down my face is screaming down my face.
I love to warch The Little House In The Prairie! Very interesting to see some old towns, the carriage with the horse and the farm. The most I love of this series is that they were Christians and the acted very fair and kind in each situation.
