Did you notice that people were always running on this show? Whenever there was a problem, the solution was to run in the fields. I loved this show and still do. We need more like them today.
Yeah, they did that on The Waltons too. Someone would be upset, so they’d run into the woods in the middle of the night, and they’d be wandering hysterically in the dark with tree branches slapping them in the face. Someone, usually John Boy would say “I’ve gotta find Mary Ellen (or whoever) and he’d run into the woods to rescue the grieving character. Both were great shows, and had a huge impact on me growing up.
They also laughed at everything. They didn't create mountains out of anthills. It seemed quite fake, but realized we all would be happier if we didn't take everything so seriously
Patrick was adorable. The dark hair and the beautiful green eyes were so attractive and so exotic. It is so good to see the actors still healthy and well.I can say I am lucky to be able to see the show over and over again.
I am 53 yrs old. Watched every episode when Little House first came on TV. Was my favorite show then and I live for the re-runs still. Little House and the books are a favorite part of my life forever. :)
@@dianeweilheimer2142 They had the same last name, and an unusual one at that, so not difficult to guess. They're both adopted (as were Melissa and Jonathan Gilbert) so not blood relations.
I'm 78 and watching these is a great escape from the world out there right now. Even though I always loved watching these and I'm not too old to enjoy them. I remember living on the farm using the well pump, out house and no phone. The good old days 😂
Little House has an innocence, and such good morals that makes me still watch it today. I like the episode where Nellie makes Andy cheat and Charles takes Andy fishing and tells Andy a story about him lying to his parents as a boy, therefore Andy starts feeling ashamed about cheating and tells his parents the truth. Patrick was a great addition to Little House just as Mathew was. Michael Landon was great on finding such good actors and actresses for the show.
Andy is such a lovley character. Always loved seeing him. I have had a crush on him. He's been a really pretty boy with those big blue eyes and this cheeky smile. And Pat seems really grounded and nice actually. Love this guy :)
As a soon to be 50year-old. I've always.always love these episodes and to this day. I still cant get enough of them. Surely dont mind the reruns can watch them all day 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I agree im.gonna be 49 and i still watch the reruns to this day ..Was such a wonderful family show we need more shows like that about FAMILY , LOVE , VALUES!!! and GOD !!!! Not about violence nudity and sex those are the only kind of shows our children have the choice to watch .Wish we could turn back time
@@dianeweilheimer2142 : That is so wonderful Diane , It's wonderful to hear that because my moms name is Diane and when we were children I remember my mom would make sure we were all bathed and ready when it came on we all sat in the parlor as a family and watched it together I remember times when we would all be trying to fight back tear's during some episodes des and we would like sneak a peak to see if any one else was crying and we all were lol such happy memories !
I love hearing that these actors from a show that I adored have given such deep analysis and love to their parts. They didn’t just show up and memorize lines and collect a paycheck. You can feel the love and dedication in their performance. ❤️
Oh my goodness. My heart is so touched. Thank you for sharing! I was a in highschool one little house came out and I showed the reruns to my children when I got married and to this day even though I'm in retirement years now, I feel so grateful for each actor and the quality that they put into this show for us. Thank you so much everyone of you. It's like you guys were family on the set, but then you have the audience who feels like you're part of our family. I hope to meet you all one day when we're with the Lord Jesus.
What a wonderful interview. He was such a wonderful child actor and speaks so eloquently now. He has turned into quite an awesome man. I am very proud of you.
It is immensely satisfying to know that Patrick was able to connect with the show and his fellow cast members both before, during and long after he was in the cast himself. That’s the kind of thing which is worth watching.
What an utterly sweet guy Patrick is and so humble and full of gratitude. Still very handsome with those big blue puppy dog eyes - Bless you and your family Patrick!
Yes, Melissa had a genuine maternal personality!! I can't remember the name of the episode, but it's the one where she and Mr Edward's adopted daughter have some disease and they are both being isolated in a cabin. There's a few seconds where Melissa is reassuring the other, younger girl that she's not going to die and is going to be alright. *That moment was so genuine* that it brought tears to my eyes and that's when I realized that Melissa was not just a truly, extremely talented young actress, but a genuine, nurturing human being!!! After seeing that episode, I went to Amazon and bought the whole box set of all 9 seasons!!
@@meredithbenjamin6694 They are siblings, both adopted, so not blood brothers. The same is true of Melissa and Jonathan Gilbert. Siblings, but not by blood, because both adopted.
@@jimmy.r.minnelli oh thank you. How about Sara Gilbert? I did think Sarah was adopted. It's nice to see these kids be a part in this show together. They all did great.
Yes I was said the Olsens women were mean girls but they weren't terrible but i never realized that had a lot to do with Mr. Olsen he was painted as pushover husband but when his wife or daughter did something cruel he put his foot down
@@thealcshow918 Imagine playing a character who gets completely wasted by Nellie, only to have the best time on the set because you're hanging out with Alison Arngrim. She's the best.
I remember watching these 'Little House' episodes when they were new in the 1970s. Of course, none of us kids dared to admit watching since it "wasn't cool", yet LHOTP was consistently in the top ten TV shows throughout it's run. It was a great show to grow up with; promoted traditional American Values.
I pretty much raised my bous watching this awesome family show. I dont lnow how much of it they remember..but..every dinner time..which back then was by 7:00PM.. we ate our dinner watching this wonderful show. Anytime I can find and watch reruns..I'm right there. I never tire of watching these episodes..several times. Each one is like a masterpiece. Michael Landon was a genius!!
This show..along with The Wslyons..are "must seed" for families. Great lessons and examples of American family values and plain love and fun. We need and cherish them..plus could always use more..but these two shows top the list!!
@@heathermallard9197 having a terrible childhood doesn't mean you get to hurt your children and significant others by cheating on them. I'm just saying. There's never an excuse for that.
@@yikesgina What made you judge and jury? Are you perfect? I never said that it did. I was abused as a child by my father (not sexually) but beaten and i never beat my kids...NEVER. But when i was an adult my father apologised to me, and we took it from there. He then devoted his life to my own children and more than made up for what he did to me as a child. In other words i forgave him and the fact that Michael's children were by his side when he died, is testament that they did to. The fact that my father admitted he did wrong was a truly healing experience for me and that is what Michael did for his children. He tried to make amends for what he had done as a younger man. Many men get divorced....many... and its sad and awful when children are involved. Anyway you don't like him and that's fine. |In truth I was not a fan and found like Little House a bit soppy for my liking. I liked Bonanza in the beginning but it got silly later on, but I have no reason to dislike or ever hate him. I guess what i am saying is i have no right to judge anyone because i have made my own mistakes in life and I am not perfect. We are all of us entitled to our own opinions though and you don't like him. Fine. My comment was like him or not, he died way to young and he did.
I met him over a decade ago, had a solid 20 min conversation with him. He was as well spoken in person as shown on this interview. Down to Earth, a very regular dude....
This was such a wonderful interview! What sweet stories. I still watch the show to this day. Wonderful values and lessons are taught and it was such simple times, hard times but simple and lots of love.
After all these NEVER did I know Patrick & Matthew we’re brothers!!! Don’t look at all brothers. WOW! Glad to hear your story Patrick, cannot get enough of little house.
Put the name Mr Patrick Labyorteaux and you instantly connect with the unforgettable SUPERB series Little House on the Prairie. Mr Patrick Labyorteaux another super talented natural child actor who was born to play this role of Andy Garvey who also left an imprint not just with his persona but also his super natural talent along with all the other leading SUPER talented natural child actors and child supporting actors who were SUPERB in their roles, making LHOTP an unforgettable classic. Classics Never Die, BRAVO to all. ♥
To Patrick. You're one of the best actors in little house on the praire. As a child you blue eyes lights up your personality. Love that look.Great Job Andy!!
First time I saw the movie HEATHERS, I couldnt believe that was Patrick Labyorteaux as one of the football players that got killed. Patrick and Matthew grew up to be some hot looking men!
that’s it. I’m about to binge watch the house on the Prairie. I’ll be 56 this year and I can’t find anything better than this television show to watch.
I grew up watching little house hence I was about the same age as the youngens in the cast. I'm now 52 and to this day I w always watch all the reruns. My husband watches with me and loves it just as much as I. I grew up in a bad situation, home life was not good.....alcoholic parent. I would and still watch as it fills my heart with joy and I would wish that I was Laura and Michael was MY PA. Silly I know.
I had a major crush on Andy & Albert I thought they were so Adorable ! Still one of my favorite TV shows ever sometimes when I'm sad or depressed I'll put on a DVD of LHOP & feel better ! God Bless Michael Landon for giving us this beautiful gift !❤❤
Oh yes, I had forgotten about that. That reminds me of how Matthew played a young Charles in a retrospective about his youth, and courtship with Caroline. This sort of thing, usage of stock actors in different roles-same series-occurred more often on television then than now.
Melissa Sue what are you doing know?Fortunatly in my country in Greece we are watching little house. Those wonderful days of our childhood gone .Many kisses to all .I think that Michael must be proud up there in Heaven ❤❤❤
Andy y albert son guapísimos de niños y siguen siendo bellos me encanta ver una y otra vez estás series mis hijos me regalaron todo el set completo de toda la. Serie de Little House in the prairie, así que me deleito viéndolos
Patrick is a good guy and a good actor on the show. Everything he did was just fine, but he couldn't come anywhere near his brother in ability or charisma. It's interesting from these interviews that Patrick says the very best actor he ever worked with was Matthew. That's definitely true, and quite impressive given the outstanding acting of that cast. Good for Patrick for showing no jealousy over the situation.
Oh my goodness, I enjoyed this interview very much, I watched it 2 times in a row! I'm so glad I saw this!!! Back in the 90's I got a call from some company (maybe my cable company?) and they asked me some questions about watching TV, then they asked me if I would like to watch "New, unaired tv shows" & rate them. Of course I did!!! 😀😀😀 They would tell me how to find them & what time to watch, & I did. Then they would call and ask me my opinion & lots of questions. I saw a lot of really bad sitcoms & I didn't want to do it anymore, but I did. This time I got to watch JAG...I was so excited because I recognized Patrick right away & it was about the U.S. Navy. If I remember right it had a different title at that time. I was so happy because I really enjoyed the show so much & told them so! My ex husband still likes to tell the story about how I helped put JAG on TV...lOl!!! Thank you for sharing this interview! I am glad that he looks healthy & happy!!! ❤️
Talking about running on the show I used to run home from school every Thursday to see little LHOTP the days when you had to wait to see the next episode , I’m 57 now and still love watching it they don’t make anything like this now a good family show .Happy days .
I remember him most from 3 ninjas ..since I watched that a million times as a child and am now watching little house as an adult...my mind was blown haha
With all thats going on nowdays with covid, its really nice to watch a feel good show like little house, I would truly love to live somewhere like Walnut Grove
I watched LHOTP when I was young, but I don't remember Patrick or his brother. I remember Patrick from JAG, which was my favorite TV show when it was on, and now thanks to 7:47 I FINALLY know how he pronounces his last name after all these decades!
That is one fragment from the “Christ connections“ episode which I wasn’t aware of, since I am too young to have watched the original full-length airing and I’ve only seen the syndicated abridgments.
If you’re wondering why Andy is still friends with Albert after May We Make Them Proud, Jonathan didn’t tell his son because he didn’t want to poison their friendship.
